Does exchange plan to work on reimbursing their customers after they relaunch? Must be hard to re-launch after rep is damaged so badly.
43  Economy / Trading Discussion / Now you can test your trading strategies on simulated exchange and claim rewards on: April 08, 2019, 04:59:46 PM
Since the bull run starts we going to have a lot of new traders coming in to the crypto madness. I just want to put it out there that there is fairly decent simulated cryptocurrency exchange that has 90% of functionality that real exchanges have.

One of use cases for such tool is to test more aggressive strategies that you normally wouldn't do with real money or simply have fun. If you have your long term positions setup and have itchy fingers to do some trading, this is maybe for you. The best part is that you can exchange your play dollar profits into real rewards provided by the sponsors on the platform.

Rewards page: https://niffler.co/app/rewards

Happy bull run everyone.

Do not want to shill anything, but we have build a cryptocurrency exchange simulator to let people experience trading before putting real money on the line. It's completely free to use and the best part is that our community is super helpful so other traders are able to give some advice. You can learn more about it here https://niffler.co

Simulators are good but they really can't simulate how you will act with real money.  When its actual money you will react differently whether you like to admit it or not.  Trading is a zero sum game which means for someone to gain someone must lose so keep that in mind.
When we use real money, the pressure will be very different if compared with when we use simulator. That is why maybe trading look easier in simulator, but when you practice in real trading, you will get different experience.

Please read my post above where I address it. And even though simulator sounds that it's easier, in reality it's not. I do see statistics of our users and only small fraction of our users are able to successfully perform in the simulated environment. You should give it a try, at the moment you are assuming it's easy, but it's not.

The simulator can provide great help especially to try our strategy before we try it with our real money but yes, the pressure will be different and many of us don't seem to be interested in using such feature. And instead, they prefer to try with a small amount of money as a learning path rather than using a simulator. We can then increase our capital after we have enough confidence in what we will do.

Fair point, although we focus more on enabling newbies and crypto trading curious ppl to use our platform. One of the other benefits is no need for KYC. For binance you already have to have previous cryptocurrency experience in order to start there.

Our simulated exchange is done in a way that allows interaction with other traders, so you are not isolated in that sense and able to learn from others as well.

You can't learn anything until you try it so it is good to try the trading since it is good way to make money in short term but its just not for everyone when you are not capable of making profits then you have to stop doing it and be a long term holder.

Agreed, day trading is surely not for everyone. When starting out, I would actually always suggest to start with longterm positions and then go on trading simulators to keep yourself busy and see how you can perform in short-term trading.

Please note, that even if you successfully perform on simulated exchange this doesn't mean that you will perform well on real exchange once real money is on the line. You can only confirm whether you are capable to recognise the pattern and make good trading call when you are not effected by your own emotion. On the other hand if you can not perform well on simulated exchange then I think there is no point even trying to do day trading on real exchange.
48  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which strategy you apply in recent bullish market? on: March 30, 2019, 04:00:55 PM
If you want to achieve profit in maximum amount , short term trading is the option.
TA usually will provide you some analysis that able be execute in haste.

Personally I try to keep hold at least 1 year to see the trend using simple MA 100&200

Only problem is that people are less likely to call shorts because during the bear market. It's a psychological thing. When a trader does short, they know that their potential is capped. When you doing long trade there is no upper boundary, therefore our brain always prefer to do long over short, even though trading either can be just as profitable, I feel this is part of the reason why traders find it hard to trade during bearish periods of time.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essentials for Traders on: March 30, 2019, 03:52:14 PM
In most cases markets start pumping after people lose hope and sell. It's just a never ending cycle.
That's the trend that only few have noticed.
Experts said that we should not panic when the price dump, they said we should buy the dip and sell the bottom, and be greedy when people panic.

The reality of the situation is that even though many ppl realise this is how they should do it, FUD consumes them and they end up not buying the dip, and when market start pumping again, they realise their mistake and jump back in out of FOMO.

The best strategy to fight the FUD is to have some other reason to believe in the asset that you are trading, this is something that will motivate you to buy it during the dip. If you do not have  fundamental confidence in the asset that you are investing you are likely to hit the FUD or FOMO trail.

It's definitely not the same with the real money and I do not even try to deny this. Emotion is huge factor in trading, however there is a lot to learn before you get to that point. It's a bit easier to control your own emotion when you know that you did it successfully without emotion and was able to make the right calls. Having enough simulator experience definitely helps to build that confidence.

The fact which no one can deny is that if you can not perform on a simulator, it's definitely not worth jumping into real markets.

Even with rewards system in place we do not have that many successful traders, which only confirms that it's not easy to perform well on a simulator that has limited liquidity but tracks the markets in real time.
51  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essentials for Traders on: March 30, 2019, 01:43:08 AM
How to control one emotion is very important when it come to trading and one of the way to control emotion is by strictly follow your money management policy which you have sent before the commencement of the trade.
If have a long engagement in trading, we can learn on how to control our self emotion and even can decide what is right and what is wrong. We mostly have that problems(decision making) especially during the times of bearish season.  People will get bored (patience) and even thinking to sell their coins(worries) earlier before it dumps hard, but they'll might be wrong with their perceptions and possible regrets after(blaming).

In most cases markets start pumping after people lose hope and sell. It's just a never ending cycle.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Avoid trading unless you are sure of what you do on: March 29, 2019, 10:57:34 PM
I can not stress this enough. First try with cryptocurrency trading simulator. As a co-founder of such exchange I can tell, not many of our users are successful as it's not that easy. People soon learn that it takes a lot of practice and analytic mind to be a successful trader. Why would you ever risk real money without practicing and making sure you can perform well in simulated environment.

Paper trading is of course is boring, but now we have tools for this.

One thing that you can not learn on simulator is to manage your emotions, but if you can not be successful on simulator without real money on the line, then trading is definitely not for you.
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essentials for Traders on: March 29, 2019, 10:15:52 PM
I would also add that it's worth to try simulated trading too. Many people think that it's easy to perform well on simulated exchange, but reality of the situation is that same principles apply and it's not that easy. As the co-founder of simulated cryptocurrency exchange I can tell that we have bunch of users and very little % are actually successful.

Main benefit is that newbie trader soon realise how volatile this market is, especially if you making transition from FOREX trading.

Just my two cents, but I think that if you can not perform well on a simulator, you should never go and trade with real money. Same as none of us would feel comfortable flying a plane with a pilot who keeps crashing in the pilots simulator.

P.S. Recently we have launched a rewards program, so you can spend your play dollar profits on rewards.

Interesting video. For those who are too lazy to watch. In video the guy presents https://enroyd.com/ website which provides cryptocurrency price predictions for free based on many criteria.

Worth a watch, not sure how much merit the enroyd.com has but I will try to do some trades based on those predictions on our simulated cryptocurrency exchange

hey Scrembo, would love to see you apply this pattern on our simulated exchange. I'm sure our community would love to learn those patterns and you can promo your youtube channel too.

It's an example of super bad crisis management. If something goes wrong, only way to save the customer trust is by being super transparent about all the issues. Then at least you have a chance to get merci from your customers once you resolve the issues.

59  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which bitcoin exchange do you use on: March 29, 2019, 03:25:29 PM
My personal favorite is Kraken. I know they had fare share of their issues, but I like them being quite transparent. Also tried Poloniex and Binance. I did not like Poloniex at all, and Binance is okay due to the fact that they have bunch of altcoin trading pairs.
We have different comfort as a trader, I personally like Binance, I tried to sign up with Kraken and it's a bit complicated for me, and they require KYC.
In binance, you can make accounts anytime you like and you can do that even without KYC, I can even make Binance accounts for the entire family.

Not having KYC is what makes me worrisome of Binance. The more regulated exchange is the less likely it's going to experience QuadrigaCX faith. Kraken is being audited by third-party auditors to ensure the security of the platform as well as ensure that finance part is there.

That is my two cents on this topic.
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which strategy you apply in recent bullish market? on: March 29, 2019, 02:35:48 PM
For long term position cost averaging is the way to go I believe and it works out great regardless if it's bullish or bearish market phase. Obviously you reduce your potential gains in short-term, but lower-risk most likely means lower reward too.

As for day to day trading, I can only advice to trade BTC pairs and try to accumulate more Bitcoin without looking into fiat value. Even your fiat value is decreasing, but you are successfully increasing your BTC holdings that should be considered a win.
