thats fine, what im trying to underline here is the profit margin must be high on the miners, if they can afford to give it as a gift at cost of $69.

Reactor is that you?

Where oh where are GAW_CEO and Rami?  Sorry folks, you ran contests on here last night and launch day is less than spectacular.

Please address this thread, I've even come back just to ask for you two personally.  I'm only waiting on tracking on a week one Fury and for zen's site to work (and fix their Zeus link), other people have bigger issues.

Thanks for jumping in but don't. We're posting our own stuff and don't need you to be our proxy for issues you're not even having. You're proving their deleting of your posts as the right thing by constantly causing friction where it's not needed.

Right now I want them addressing the issues that we're having.  I'm waiting for a miner that I don't have tracking info for, which is okay because zenMiner doesn't work yet, asking people for info on how the miners that are running are doing because we know nothing about the actual hardware and performance other than the frightening performance numbers we have seen.

I'm done screwing around, if they can run a contest they should have been a) sending tracking and b) making sure their partner site works.  Now I want my hardware and I want to be able to mine with it, so I'm calling out the folks who were kind enough to be here for antics but are silent with pages of issues now posted.

So, not to be rude, but keep it to yourself.  Me and freaking waldo are here responding to people and we don't like GAW, GAW can show up.

Anti-friction Translator Engaged. Processing....

I am sure Josh and Rami are under a severe crunch and doing the best they can. I bet they don't get to take a break while on the toilet, probably have to read posts and run contests for free stuff in between all of the other stuff they do. Someone saw the marketing guy tearing down boxes. Love checking in on this thread and know they will work out tracking numbers and get these brand new boxes purring soon. Thanks for working hard on the launch. Get some sleep at some point guys!

"Make no mistake between my personality and my attitude. My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are."

I am all for information to help potential buyers with company issues, but there has not been an overwhelming amount of complaints, so after a while it gets to be like crying wolf. Not saying he is not having issues, just work it out in private.

Both sides should take a step back and look at it from each others point of view and make compromises. I am not a relationship counselor, just deal with a lot of people with tech issues. Some complain to everyone and their brother, (who can do my job better anyway) and when you finally get a help desk ticket they forgot they turned their wireless off. They don't go back and tell all of the people they complained to that it was their fault. Smiley  Others are very easy to work with and you build relationships and trust.

If two sides are very upset at each other it usually means they care deeply about something. Common ground folks.

Off soapbox.  What did the fish say when he hit a wall?   DAM!

Here is another contest to pass the time while you wait for your miners Smiley

As you guys know, we have some fun name that we use for things. Believe it or not, I make them all up, but for very specific reasons......

I will give a free Fury (second week). To the person the person that guesses the closest to why we choose all the names for everything related to our company first Smiley

Cut off is 11pm Eastern Tonight!

I couldn't hold out. Smiley I was going to stay with the 5.2 but since hosting was added back and $499 for roughly 8mH/s increase seemed like a good deal. I messed up on the payment and Luke, Thomas, and Jonathon all responded to help. Thomas sent almost an instant reply to my email.

Josh, you ever let these guys off to drink a beer, or do you have a dispenser in the data center? Hope this doesn't cause a negative "fanboy" comment, but keep up the good work, and I look forward to prime news.

Man, hate tough decisions. The 5.2 to 13 hash rate it tempting, but I love the hosting. My two GPU rigs in the gameroom are a pain. Josh, I am going to roll the dice and see what you have for us hosting people in the future. I assume the Fury is still coming?  Thanks for trying all sorts of things to keep us happy. I have found that making everyone happy is impossible, but I appreciate you trying to make as many of us happy as you can. Just for the record, since I am sure many happy customers do not post, my hosted blade is working great. Thanks!
48  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- THE WAR MACHINE 54MH Miner!! on: May 13, 2014, 04:28:41 AM
What if GAW Miners could sell you hashing power (consistently) at least 20% of the market price?
If we protected you from price drops (like the two that have happened)
If you could always sell your gear (at a good price) to buy new gear?
If you always had a ROI?

Just ordered 2 Week Two Hosted Fury.

Your statement "made my mind".
Really hope you surprise us...  Wink

You will be more then surprised.

Beta invites will be going out soon!

Can't wait! Are you buying GPUs from us as well? Smiley

just an observation..

I ordered Gridseed blades with a delivery time of 5 days a few weeks ago knowing full well that at any day and at any time another system could be announced that would offer hash rates cheaper and when the gawminer and hashra units were announced I didn't go back to the company I ordered from an ask for a refund - sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you....at the point in time I ordered it was the best deal going and I accept that - risk, reward and return go hand in hand - you can't gamble without accepting risk.

that said - I will say that if a company sold me a system and that company had full knowledge that the system they were selling me would be 'kind of' obsoleted price wise by a system they were involved in developing and delivering within a few weeks of the date they sold me the prior system - I would indeed be upset.

jussayin...

As I have said many times. We have no control on how gridseed changes the price or any warning when they are about to.

Let me illustrate this:

Last week (before the price drop) they called us and said that there was a Chinese holiday at the end of the week. And if we did not order as much as possible, we would not get any of our gear shipped later in the week.

So we did, we ordered as much as possible.

Then they changed the prices. Literally, the NEXT business day, they changed he prices by 40%.

This week.

After many emails, threats, etc. They finally agreed to a compensation for customer that bought blades. But, it was far less then what was right.

So we were scheduled to meet again to review.

A few people in the company saw our thread on how they were handling things. They got pissed about our transparency about all this. They then reneged on the entire reimbursement for customer and went back on their word. They then demanded that I fly one of my executives to their office to apologize to the CEO. This has been done and I am not waiting to see if they "feel" like doing the reimbursements.

Thats what I am dealing with.

I appreciate you going to bat for us, but if I were you, I would have their CEO fly out and apologize for using the Chinese holiday as a cover to garnish last minute sales before the price went down. They should have said that the price was going down but you would have to wait a week due to the holiday and left the decision up to you. They are upset because if crap like this gets out, we will not buy their equipment. They need to choose whether they are going to try and cover this up, or admit poor judgement on their selling practices, and save face. This does not sit well with you because you understand the value of good customer service. When there is a perception that one side is winning over the other, bad things happen.

Keep up the good fight, don't let them change you.

BAMT makes coldreboots every 3 hours and I have no idea where to look data of longer period...

Look for this in /etc/crontab and change the 3 (Crontab Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cron):

0 */3 * * *    root    /sbin/coldreboot

Also you can use crontab -e

I found this scrypt (http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/1yz53e/i_made_an_autocoldrebooter_script_for_bamtsmos/) for checking temp and rebooting (why reboot if it's working ok?):

Scrypt is between "------".

---------
#!/bin/bash

#Set your targeted minimum temp here, system will issue a cold
#reboot if a card temp falls below this number
targetMinTemp=50
i=0
(/opt/bamt/viewgpu | awk '{ print $2; }' | cut -c -2 > /tmp/viewgpu) & pid=$!
echo $pid
(sleep 10 && kill $pid)
sleep 15
array=(`cat /tmp/viewgpu`)
if [ ${#array
  • } -eq 0 ]; then
 echo "`date +%m-%d-%Y` `uptime | awk -F, '{sub(".*ge ",x,$1);print $1}'` viewgpu command failed to run, rebooting" >>  /home/$(grep '1000' /etc/passwd | cut -d ':' -f 1)/autoRebooter.log
  /sbin/coldreboot &
  sleep 30
  echo s > /proc/sysrq-trigger
  sleep 10
  echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger
fi
for temp in ${array
  • }; do
 if [ $temp -lt $targetMinTemp ]; then
    echo "`date +%m-%d-%Y` `uptime | awk -F, '{sub(".*ge ",x,$1);print $1}'` card number $i has stopped, its current temp is $temp, coldrebooting" >> /home/$(grep '1000' /etc/passwd | cut -d ':' -f 1)/autoRebooter.log
    /sbin/coldreboot &
    sleep 30
    echo s > /proc/sysrq-trigger
    sleep 10
    echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger
  fi
i=$(($i+1))
done

---------

Named it "autoRebooter.sh" placed in root. Make it executable.

Crontab entry:

0 */1 * * *     root    /root/autoRebooter.sh

Hope it helps!

I never use Windows for a mining rig - had nothing but stability problems and driver crashes.  Full custom gentoo all the way for me.

Intensity shouldn't play that big of a roll - did you try downclocking the engine to 947? (On the faulting card)
Did you roll your own or use a Gentoo Mining guide somewhere? I am basically dangerous with Linux, but can follow a recipe. Smiley
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X OC Hashrate? on: February 26, 2014, 04:40:17 AM
Sorry for the confusion, it is running on a 1200 and a 750. I am thinking the 1200 can't handle it and going to test by adding another 750 I have laying around to verify the 1200's ability to provide 1080. 2700 watts should rule out any power problems. I am thinking it is a little weak when they are all at full hash. Even keeping the average I am doing, 4.55 Mh/s should be doable. I'll know in a few hours. Smiley
1200 for 3 cards and a 750 for 2 cards + mobo is more then enough.  Are you using powered risers?

I can run 3 off a 1000W and 2+mobo off an 850W, with heavy overclocks.
Not a power supply issue, I think. Hooked third one up and even ran extension cord to another circuit. I am not using powered risers. Could that cause the problem? Started digging for the obvious and the card that is giving me trouble was using bios version 015.042 and the other 4 were using bios version 015.043. Flashed it and still a problem going over I 13. Driver flips out. Adjusted GPU and memory but once I hit I 14 it dies. Sitting at 4.18 Mh/s. Time to try Stilts when I get a chance. Running 64 bit Win 8.1. Think 32bit would be better?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X OC Hashrate? on: February 25, 2014, 08:37:40 PM
@DaZuru: You definitely cannot run 5 of these cards on a 1200W... you would be very lucky if you can even run 4 stable for extended periods of time.  I am impressed you have 5 running at all without the PSU shutting off.  Add a 750W or 850W for the last 2 cards.  5MH/s is unlikely - you might manage 980KH/s on a few cards (I do have one that can pull 1.002MH at 1125 engine), but you're more likely aiming for 940 on average or so (every card is different and will take a different engine overclock before becoming unstable).

After running for a while. 76-78, its well ventilated
Have you tried Linux?  I hated the 290s on Windows, drivers were horrible.

Running four cards, waiting on a riser for the fifth. Was unstable due to me not having a couple of meters to see my power draw!  Now I have a 750 and a 1200 watt power supply feeding it. Roughly 300 watts each card and 100 or so for the SSD and motherboard. It gets a little weird when I try to tweak settings but I have left it alone and running 3.64 Mh/s steady with four, hoping for 4.55 Mh/s tonight! Running around 73C with a floor fan on an open air case. Probably need to work on air flow upstairs. It is in the game room. Smiley

My amateur settings:

-o stratum+tcp://doge.joinaparty.com:22550 -u MYPAYOUTADDRESS -p MYPASSWORD -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24550 -I 20 --gpu-engine 1022 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20

I tried the xintensity setting but it doesn't like it. Also trying P2P pool mining. Interesting concept. Connect to a node close to you.  You can browse or connect to test at http://doge.joinaparty.com:22550, no guarantees I will keep it running. Trying to find the best solution for me.

Daz
Are these 290X or just 290s?  Once you get them stable, try The Stilt's BIOS so you can drop the memclocks down to 1375 but keep the same performance, and gives you more headroom on the gpu-engine.  If all of your cards run at 1500 memclock without crashing, then try pushing the engine up to 1060 - when a card goes sick, decrease only that card's engine by 10.

xintensity will increase your hashrate, period.  No reason not to use it.  What's not to like about a way better way to tune the number of threads launched that actually lines up with your number of shaders?

My problem is I start messing with it around 10PM and then run out of patience. Smiley Messed with it again until 1:30 last night (this morning) and think my fifth card needs another power supply. Pushed I 20 to four cards and then the fifth would cause the dreaded driver failed and was restarted successfully, which is crap, because hash rates never recover without a reboot. Was at 1,080 watts on the 1,200 Corsair. I have another 750 and will try it.  If it is power, then I can mess with the xintensity again. I am hoping it is just frustrating due to the power issue. I just need to understand the math/ratio of threads to shaders. Time to go reading again!

I read through that huge Stilt BIOS thread, wow! I even gave him a post (I think under my real name?) to encourage him to keep coding. Some peeps will drive you crazy with entitlement issues. I have the Sapphire Tri-x OC R9 290 cards. Victim of Newegg price gouging. I like the two BIOS feature so I won't worry about bricking them when I get time to try Stilts' BIOSs. I keep running across stuff to try. Curious to see if the power issue is my problem and then see if the new BIOS will drop the power requirement down to only needing two power supplies. Fun puzzle to work through. If it wasn't for the fast SSD boot times, I would have thrown it out the window. Smiley  I have it stable at 4.19 Mh/s so I could sleep. Maybe 5 Mh/s if I can get power resolved and run Stilts BIOS? Now to go study your post about which version to try with my cards.

Thanks for the help!  I really try to read and figure stuff out without burdening people. So much info and noise to sort through.

Have a good one!

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any trust worthy dogecoin pool? on: February 24, 2014, 11:19:26 PM
I was on a pool, (name withheld to not cause a flame war) and was paying a 2.5% fee. Researched solo mining, and that was not a good fit. Ran across a P2P Pool idea, where it is decentralized. You probably already know about it but I am new to this.  I followed the instructions here and created a "node": http://doges.org/index.php/topic,5586.0.html and it went smoothly except for a typo on my part which drove me crazy looking over my work. Running it under VirtualBox so I can sandbox it and test, and revert to snapshots when I mess it up!

Can't testify to Hash Rates or if it is stable, but I am mining with just myself, pointing to my payout address and getting shares in my wallet. Kind of cool to see it as "Mined" instead of "Received with" from a pool. Not sure how the performance will compare to a typical pool.

Apparently you can allow people to join your node. I haven't tested it to see if my internet connection can take it, but anyone is welcome to try. If it gets crazy I can turn it off or get a bigger pipe.  What I like about it is you can connect to someone that is close to you or create your own node (I am in Fort Worth, TX). Set it up this morning, so I will see. Running for about 3.5 hours and have 322 shares on a 3.64 Mh/s rig. Anxious to see what it does in a week.

If you want to test it, I have it set for .5% (didn't think anything higher was fair, and may lower it. I just wanted to see if it paid the fees for my test.)

The instructions create a "Front end for the node" http://doge.joinaparty.com:22550 so you can see how it looks. Kinda of different from a standard pool. Probably should create a landing page for http://doge.joinaparty.com with instructions to everything.

Pulled these connect strings that you can try and connect I use sgminer:
cgminer --scrypt -o doge.joinaparty.com:22550 -u YOURDOGEPAYOUTADDRESS -p anypassword
bfgminer --scrypt -o doge.joinaparty.com:22550 -u YOURDOGEPAYOUTADDRESS -p anypasssword

Don't count on this being a forever node to connect to, I am just testing it and if two people connect it might even bring it to it's knees! Smiley Do me a favor and connect so I can test and then go create your own node! If it works out, who knows.

Thanks!
DaZ
