Node is shutting down permanently.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin Lightning Node] ThrobbingSausage Discussion on: July 23, 2019, 04:59:21 PM
Upstream provider has changed IP on me. Node is in the process of reconnecting all channels with proper new IP being announced.

Will be looking to establish some new routes in the next 48 hours after things have calmed down.

Updated to LND 0.7b and have enabled Watchtower support.

Just opened a channel with your node.
Chan Id: 636948185549111296

Looks like I was able to establish a 15mSAT connection by simply opening a channel with your already established remote_pubkey.

Thanks for the email, with the suggestion. Never occurred to me to try that.

Infofront, sorry if this is too off topic but I wanted to clarify a recent posting of mine. I am running a two for one liquidity matching bonus for Bitcointalk related LN nodes and had a TOR user commit 15mSAT with me and I cannot easily reciprocate because I am IPV4 only. I hope to resolve things with the node operator via a private channel at the very least.

#hodlstrong

Edit Wednesday, June 5th, 2019:

I do not run TOR. My node is only accessible via IPV4. I cannot publicly reciprocate with TOR nodes connecting with me. I have set aside 100,000,000 SAT in a limited two for one liquidity swap for LND node operators part of the Bitcointalk community. I will match your incoming liquidity (MinChanSize 3,000,000 SAT) back to you two for one, up to a maximum of 15,000,000 SAT, until my balance is exhausted.

I am not using TOR Embarrassed Do not wish to install TOR for personal reasons. Would be happy attempt to open a private channel to you via IPV4. Not sure how we can resolve this. Will happily provide you with 15mSAT if we can work together somehow. You can email me at throbbingsausage@protonmail.com if you want to take this off the forums.

I apologize for not being more clear about my non usage of TOR.

I've just setup Raspibolt and am doing a dive into this.  I don't know what number of channels it can handle.
I'm curious as to how much resources having over 200 channels takes.  Would also like to know how many transactions pass through your node. If you don't mind sharing.

Not familiar with the limitations of running BitcoinD and LND on a RasPi. Using a Xeon server running Linux. Regarding system load over the last 150 days with over two hundred channels established, with 8333 closed to the public for incoming due to the amount of bandwidth I was serving.

load average: 0.09, 0.16, 0.13
model name   : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1220 v3 @ 3.10GHz

If you are willing to commit to a small node this is my info: https://1ml.com/node/036ccd87044f0e6e1d115e67a5aec2440d56d498e8eb4b12c81fce7ac342ff8f20
I would be willing to allocate 600,000 to the channel.

I am wanting to help bootstrap some Bitcointalk related community nodes that are looking for more incoming liquidity, but have set a minimum level in order to reciprocate. For example, with my limit of 3,000,000 SAT to establish a channel with me, I will then establish a 6,000,000 SAT channel with you in return. I do not wish to divulge routing or other stats at this time - it is not important, and the fee structure is such that I am unlikely to see the server paying for itself in a foreseeable timeframe. I am proud to be a top node, and having respectable channel minimums is part of my MO for growing the node into the future. I hope you can understand my reasons.

Here my node. I will match you if you do add liquidity and open a channel with me.

Have loaded up an additional one BTC on my LND, and would like to dedicate the amount in a two for one liquidity bonus when you establish a channel with me, and post your chan_id here.

I will connect back with double the liquidity you have provided me, up to a maximum of 15,000,000 SAT, until the full 100,000,000 SAT in my balance has been exhausted. MinChanSize is defined at 3,000,000 SAT.

Hi ThrobbingSausage,
Are you willing to reciprocate if I open a channel with your node?

All my liquidity is currently allocated. Have not yet made a decision about how much more I wish to fund the node with.

Will likely add an additional 1 BTC liquidity next week.

Got a new IP, in case you're still willing to open a corresponding channel to my node:

Done.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin Lightning Node] ThrobbingSausage Discussion on: May 05, 2019, 02:54:27 PM
Thanks for your opinion.

I don’t care.

I’m in this for fun.

Use another node, you fucking penis.

Current 1ML Capacity Ranking 39. Channel Count Ranking 54.

In the process of establishing another 1 BTC worth of connectivity via 5,000,000-7,500,000 sat channels.

What have you done for Bitcoin today ?
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin Lightning Node] ThrobbingSausage Discussion on: April 16, 2019, 02:17:24 PM
All zombie channels have finally been eliminated.

1ML Liquidity rank 38 and channel rank 58. Not sure if worth it to try to break into the top 50 for channel count for the sake of bragging rights. Node is fairly well established as is, and continuing to establish solid 5Msat minimum outbound channels with other quality nodes when identified.

craeful cleaning complete.

Current node rank is 39 for liquidity and 58 for connectivity on 1ML. I would like to get into the top 50 for channels but it is difficult finding good new routes.

Very nice to wake up to battle for $5,000. Also very nice to see memory pool calming down.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin Lightning Node] ThrobbingSausage Discussion on: April 05, 2019, 11:55:14 AM
Memory pool inflation is resolving, and established a few new 5M sat channels outgoing channels for maximum reachability.

Very nice to see Bitcoin trying to find balance at $5,000 today. We barely found time to have support at $4,000 and here we are at $5,000 now.

bitcoin will fall under 3000 soon

I do not believe you.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitcoin Lightning Node] ThrobbingSausage Discussion on: April 03, 2019, 05:57:12 AM
craeful cleaning is almost finished, and I have plenty of liquidity becoming available to establish new channels with this community. If anyone needs some inbound liquidity for their node, please make case and requested channel amount.

Nodematch is only offering me nodes with 2 extra routes right now and I am waiting to see if they have updates in the morning.

Moderators, if this is not a good place for this thread, please move. Thank you.

Except, of course, that exchange trades are an example of Layer 2 trades. I'm not making an argument, I'm answering your question. You asked what Layer 2 solutions existed for the other forks of Bitcoin, so for the sake of answering your explicit question...

Chicken Egg problem. What came first. The money or the bank. I do not respect your answer. Do you like XRP too ?

Lightning is replete with security tradeoffs. Worth it for some, intolerable for others.

Name one tradeoff worse than Layer 1.

Near-instant? Statistically. Amazing the things that work with five-nine's determinism when blocks are big enough to swallow all transactions generated.

Gobbledygook. Senseless.

BTC doesn't do this, with Lightning.

You are wrong. You try to be evil on Lightning, and counter party is fully rewarded and you lose everything. Incentive to play nice.

Still unanswered: How LN is going to help when Layer 1 is already clogged to the point of uselessness.

Hyperbole.
