1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (c ͡|Q ͜ʖ ͡o) [ANN][OPC] OPEC Coin POS stage, 2% per month. TipBot here! on: June 12, 2014, 02:13:48 PM
GOOD NEWS! Our petition was taken into consideration by the Secretariat of OPEC - Support Services Division.

registration number: 18-0614

Support Services Division
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries
Helferstorferstrasse 17
A-1010
Vienna, Austria
______________________________________________________________________________

This is our petition:

"
Dear Secretary General of OPEC HE Abdalla Salem El-Badri, and representatives of the Member Countries !

We send you this letter for the purpose of careful consideration.

In today's world is increasingly taking place in the global market turmoil due to non viability of existing financial systems. Along with that, throughout history, the consumption of petroleum products is growing, and the GDP of many countries depends on the oil price.  But the strangest thing about this is that as a result, the budgets of Petroleum Exporting Countries is still directly dependent by the U.S. dollar, the issue of which is not controlled by your country. Likewise, any currency of another country can not be controlled by society, why convert your wealth to the paper?
Our proposal is to replace the instrument and translating the whole system for open electronic payments. Already, we have developed a personalized e-currency to pay for the exported oil - OPEC Coin.

This currency has all the positive characteristics:
1. Limited quantity - ext. emission is essentially impossible.
2. Absolute independence from the current situation on the global and local financial markets.
3. Security operations and asset protection.
4. Practically no costs to maintain system performance.

Sure that for you and for the people of this question is very important, so we are fully prepared to interact with you on the proposal!

Sincerely, the team of crypto-currency OPEC Coin.
"

Can you post the official receipt of this petition please? You do have the official receipt don't you? All petitions granted a hearing are given one.

Cheers
Alcamie
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Millionaire Coin (MIL) - Poloniex IPO > Get in now! on: June 08, 2014, 06:53:25 AM
We are in negotiation with some merchants who will accept MIL. Other than that we will always be introducing innovative features, that is why the IPO is there - TO DEVELOP MIL!

Really?? Can you say who? Since people are being requested to invest in an IPO, I'm sure they would love to know who you are in discussion with and what size these merchants are?

All I can say is WOW.!.!.!

Already sitting ready for sale on https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_mil:

Sell Orders    Total: 114847.29989761 MIL

Price            MIL                   BTC
0.000565   114847.29989761   64.88872444

Looks like that's almost a full 11.48% of POW coins are already waiting to be sold from the outset.

Looks like the dev is planning to fly from day one. I'd imagine that only the dev and the Poloniex guy's could possibly have access to wallets on the exchange with coins to put in them.

This bird has flown!!

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (c ͡|Q ͜ʖ ͡o) [ANN][OPC] OPEC Coin X13 POW, 2%/ per month POS. Listed on BITTREX on: June 04, 2014, 04:10:18 AM
This is going to be very interesting - OPEC coin

Im emailing my clients list on this one

Im on my way to bittrex...

I cant fathom how big this could get if the developer can pull This off

Imagine how the market will react once the word of OPC gets around.

If you quietly buy up now in no time i dont want to speculate but OPC could potentially
Go alot higher if its tooken very seriously.

50M supply cap

There will be a herd, along with panic buying which could cause the price to surge drastically

Bittrex + Poloniex + Mintpal + cryptsy = OPC 0.15

ONLY if the DEV can pull it off...

Do you (or anyone else) know the dev? What are his credentials?

As far as I can tell there's no plan at all... from the OP:

"We need comunity help in order to achieve our main goal:
1 OPC = 1 Barrel of Oil
Please post your thoughts here in this thread. There is a bounty of 5,000 OPC for the best strategy! Together we can do it!"

By the way, you give yourself away. I almost tooken you seriously.

I'd say his credentials are pretty low. He hasn't even put out a linux compilable source. I had to fuck around a fair bit to get it to compile and now it can't find any nodes even with the 2 addnodes in the conf file.

That reminds me.. Time to put my votes in.. Smiley

Someone has put down a 50000 WC for Birddog  Shocked.
My favorite is Pantalaimon's logo but unfortunately it seems hard to scale down (it lacks of contrast).

That was me Smiley .. My other votes are still processing. Smiley

10k for Nate, 10k for opera incoming and a 4k panta

Hey Jesus. I like the story behind Birdog's logo but I have to say that Opera has definitely got the recognition factor going. Nice job to all of the entries though. Well done.

I pulled my WC off of Mintpal about a week ago into my wallet and a larger transaction staked today =)

Well I'm glad to see somebody stake. I had my old wallet open and waiting with coins for 14 days. Nothing. No stake.

So I grab some more WC, open a new wallet (old wallet had an very difficult passphrase that I grew tired of)... send lots of coins to the new wallet. And finally... 8 days later... still nothing.

WC staking seems to be a myth for me.

If your wallet is locked you won't be able to stake, mindfox can explain it better but you need to leave it unlocked for staking to work.

Yes, I am aware of that. My wallet says "minting" and expected time to earn reward is 3 hours. It's said 3 hours for almost 5 days now.

Believe also the network weight, and your network weight will play into that.  My minting has been declining as others coins age as well.  In the begining I was staking like a pheen!

*** IRC #whitecoinfoundation is the best place for these kind of questions.  Any of the volunteers will help with understanding POS.  I seem to understand more each time.

*** http://whitecoin.info/news/faqs/ <= How do I know if my wallet is staking?

Mine took about 9 days to start minting but now it's started minting 2 days ago it won't stop Smiley
It's minted 6 times in 2 days. I'm presuming that's based on the different delivery times of coins received into my wallet.

The sooner WC bottoms out the sooner it can start recovering. Whitecoin has lots of potential, don't worry about the price because its not gonna change anytime soon. If your smart you would see this is a really good opportunity to buy in really cheap. You buy when everyone is selling. It doesn't take much to hype a coin and WC will get its spotlight soon enough.

alcamie, TL & full of useless old news. The 10k pizza stuff was old news a year ago fella.
My objection is to being left feeling like I have been led along like the investors of Panda with the coin being drained until it is worth nothing. I am not stupid enough to put enough in to make a difference to my financial situation should it go to 0 satoshi, my motivation is not financial but the feeling of being taken for a mug.

To suggest I am "fudding" just goes to show the tactics you happily take against long term investors of the coin. "Dump and run" ... you would like that I suppose as it allows a few satoshi more to be wrung from the few still standing investors.

I see nothing but procrastination and constant begging for more coins on this thread. "Donate here", "vote here"-(with coins) etc it seems to be endless fleecing.

Facebook, twitter, social media whatevers, IRC, no thanks. Please keep folk updated here instead of running all over the net to piece the odd scrap of information that may have been posted ... somewhere.   "oh it was on IRC"  well most of use were not!

Iffy.

I notice that on all of your posts both on WC and the VC forum are specifically you pointing out what you see as "problems", but I don't see you offering any of what you might see as "solutions".

We are not STAFF and we have NOT been paid for work done from any pot that I know of.

I have been donated a total of 5000 WC worth a grand total of $4.28 from a kind individual, so if you think that you are being misled, ill informed and ripped off by people like myself, for the price of a cup of coffee, for the days and weeks of work that we are all putting in  to make "Your Coin" stronger in the long term, then I really feel that you can take your criticism and $214 worth of WC elsewhere.

Or if you feel strongly enough to "waste your the time" giving "worthless negative criticism" to people for working for what they believe in, maybe you could rethink that and give your time to that same group with constructive worthwhile suggestions and support them to try to turn your $214 into something that you might be happy with.

I apologise in advance for this rant. It's pretty long and in some areas may be repetitive but it's how I'm feeling right now after weeks of working with some great people.

I think it's really funny how people are seeing something that is and always has been proposed as a long term solution for our current monetary system, is being pronounced a failure at just one month old by certain people.

"Investors dare I say Speculators" who have gotten into this for the "Short term / greed" and have not or will not contribute to the invigoration or growth of their "investment / speculation" because you think it's you're god given right to expect everyone but yourselves to drive value, should stop wingeing at Volunteers who believe in this. This is meant to be crypto currency not crypto stock.

Yes it is speculative, as was BitCoin but good things take time to mature and build communities and support before real value is realised.

I have spent today with a good friend of mine who owns a BTC merchant site of over 9000 merchants that he services and he told me about the 10,000 Bitcoin (~ US$25 at the time) pizzas (2 of) that were ordered and bought on 22nd May 2010 by Laszlo Hanyecz. The first recorded purchase of anything with CryptoCurrency. http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-btc/

Do you think that those guy's were crying failure just 1 month into launch?? Like hell, they were pushing to create a market for customers to use this "virtual stuff" to buy "real things".

My friend and I spoke of the fact that these original merchants who took the risk of being paid in Bitcoin were and are pioneers, whom given the chance, would eagerly take on another "virtual coin" for over the counter purchases if they knew it was faster than BTC and had solid growth potential such as WC has. That is what has made the merchants rich already with BTC and they are hungry for more.

This is the second conversation that I've had with rich BTC pioneers this week. They have agreed that there is massive potential for this to succeed and are wishing to talk more about the possibilities.

All of this is possible but it won't happen overnight and initial speculators that are unhappy with "losing" money over the space of a month and who are happy to dump and run, then all power to you. I'll happily take your WC.

As I see it, it's potential energy in WC is growing and growing. The spring constant of this coin is growing and growing as the strength of the community is prevailing and increasing.

I would agree with you that you may pronounce that a coin is dead if after a month we had around 30 pages of posts, the developer of the coin had skipped town and nothing else, the contrary is the case.

WC is now backed by true professionals from the fields of software development / marketing / technical support / design / foundation management team of volunteers (investors, miners, exchanges and bag-holders alike). These people give up their spare time and in some cases their working time too. The wallet has been fixed, the coin is doing what it was supposed to be doing in the beginning and there is continuing active development from many directions. Others have put money into hiring other professionals to help with their own money to grow the future of this Crypto Currency WhiteCoin.

In WC, there is constant support in the way of creative, technical and marketing input. There is constructive planning and everything else that determines long term success and strength of a product, that is going into making the future of this Crypto Currency and that's what ultimately, will allow this Block Chain Tree to bare fruit and give massive returns to those who have patience and foresight to stay in and support in whatever constructive way that they can.

Ultimately it is the individuals choice as to whether they hold or cut their losses and run. But it is those who have the vision and courage to look forward to the future and work towards the ultimate goal of general acceptance of WC and other worthy Crypto Currencies in the future as a viable option to FIAT currencies, are the ones who are ultimately going to reap the rewards.

Go and talk to Laszlo Hanyecz today and ask him if it was worth buying those pizzas. I dare say that he will tell you it was the best decision he ever made at the time, even though he must be kicking himself today. He thought that BTC was worthless and Dumped $5,270,000 worth on 2 pizzas??? Crazy but cool. But then again, he was in it because he "Believed in BTC as a currency" and that's cool.

If you're going to treat Crypto as whole as a get rich quick scheme, then expect to get burnt along the way by charlatans and con artists. If this pains you, then find a new alternative. Try this with real stocks or FIAT currencies and I can tell you from experience that you will get burnt way more if you're trying to get rich quick, but if you're in it for the reasons that transcend your hunger for that quick buck and you're into building a community, that will ultimately build your future wealth when the rest of the world says hey, what are we missing out on. Then stay and help us build it.

Pull you head out of your asses and either support the Crypto Community as a whole, or dump and run. But stop FUDDING this or any other Crypto community, as you have gotten old a very long time ago.

Just a disclaimer. I'm a holder, miner, investor, developer and supporter of WC and a number of other Crypto Currencies and I see that the future is bright for all that believe in it. Communities build strength, Strength build prosperity.

Thanks
Alcamie

These are the main things that were found to be of issue with WC and consequently were addressed and fixed.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Alchemie , I hope that your message can be of guidance and encouragement.

I would still take advantage of your knowledge and ask your opinion on a quirk that
I saw in the source code , perhaps it is irrelevant, maybe not, probably the result of
a lapse in the process of " search & replace " .
It seems to me that a table has been modified in the implementation of slgoritm X11.

I refer in particular to the file cubehash.c line 102:
SPH_C32 ( 0x85254725 ) , SPH_C32 ( 0x15818AEB ) , SPH_C32 ( 0x4AB6AAD6 ) ,

while in a different source, perhaps more reliable, here
 http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/GRAY/Digest-CubeHash-XS-0.05/src/cubehash.c
there is :
SPH_C32 ( 0x85254725 ) , SPH_C32 ( 0x15815AEB ) , SPH_C32 ( 0x4AB6AAD6 ) ,

and "15818" as you know is the number of rpcpport , which is specific of each wallet,
and it must have been changed after the source has been cloned.
But I do not really understand the reason to change a single value in a standard
algorithm, then I fear that the algorithm X11 was ruined by accident.

I'll have a look at this and get back to you.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CC][POS][X11] Official Colorcoin thread on: May 18, 2014, 05:19:47 AM

I've spent some time early in the piece with WC trying to solve the problems they had, the exact problems that this coin has got when Mindfox jumped in and did a great job fixing POW, POS and everything else. Not wanting to put words in his mouth but He also hates shitty non developers putting out these coins thinking they will make it rich quick.

Given that ColorCoin is derived from BadgerCoin, which in turn derives from WhiteCoin,
I guess for you this situation is a kind of deja vu.  Wink

Could you be so kind to briefly summarize what the problem was in the WC and what were the steps that led to the solution?

Perhaps this description could be a source of illumination to solve problems here too.

The developers of this coin could take the time to browse the latest fixed WC code and diff it with what they currently have to see what problems they have.
  • WC had the issue where POS did not kick in after 10000 blocks as it should have. That's fixed in WC.
  • WC's POW could / should have stopped @ 10000 but didn't, where CC has stopped completely. This disguised the POS issue for WC for a while but has made this clear problem obvious with CC. This is now fixed in WC
  • Testnet had not been setup initially on WC therefore no testing could have been possible prior to launch to test any thing. This is now fixed in WC and not fixed in CC.
  • There was no communication from the original developer with regards to these existing issues in WC when the issues were discovered. This is now fixed as original developer is no longer around and thriving community has moved to establish a permanent team to continue development. This is therefore fixed in WC.

These are the main things that were found to be of issue with WC and consequently were addressed and fixed.

I hope this helps.

So anything to update us with Mr Developer Man?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| |5 days mining only|Multi-Pool | on: May 17, 2014, 03:27:42 PM
Mark your calender you don't want to train for the journey of a lifetime....only 1,000 SYNC to be mined and you could be the next millionaire in this synclub by holding 1 SYNC

Specifications
Algorithm: X11
Total coins: 1,000
Proof of Stake Reward:  1% per year
Block Time:  60 seconds
Coin Maturity: 50 blocks
Min Coin Age: 6 hours
Coin Age Maturity: 30 days
Min Tx Fee: 0.00000001 SYNC
Premine: 0.5%

Block Rewards
0.14 SYNC
PoW: 7200 Blocks
THE ONLY COIN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Launch: Saturday 17 GMT 20:30

Hmmm.

block reward   block time   Premine = 0.5 %
0.14   60   5 coins

blocks till whole coin   time till whole coin   Time for total coins mined
7.1428571429           428.5714285714           428571.428571429   seconds
                                   7.1428571429           7142.8571428572   mins
                                                            119.0476190476   hours
                                                               4.9603174603   days

So if there's only a total of 1000 coins going to be in existence. How is POS going to be possible if all 1000 coin are mined within the 5 days?

Smells to high heaven of SCAM. Also how can you claim $10,000 per coin when coin365 is only ~$600 dollars and 42coin is ~$10,000. That would suggest a value more like $200 max if there was no premine. making that a max marketcap of $200,000 ever.

How do substantiate your claims?

What other coins have you developed?

Clarification-

Crypto West though claiming to did not write the patch to correct POS.

Crypto West did 2 things.

1. Generate a key pair and added it to the code. I never wanted the private key.

2. Added a seed node.

That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

I know he's been shooting his mouth of saying he wrote the patch but the patch as you can see came from my git https://github.com/Whitecoindev/Whitecoin which was pushed to the original git https://github.com/Whitecoiner/Whitecoin which I still have exclusive rights to.

The git has been moved to https://github.com/Whitecoin-org/Whitecoin still contains all the links to the patches I wrote.

But we are jumping ahead. Lets start with my first clarification- it will be called "The Launch". There are a lot of incorrect rumors floating around about the launch and the dev team and this needs to be clarified first.

Right. What you did do was write a completely broken coin that needed to be rescued by this community.

Newsflash minerman, you have lost all respect in the crypto community. You have no credibility. You came in here yesterday threatening this community and behaving in a completely unprofessional manner. You also gave what I believe to be an intentional twisting of the truth.

Here are the facts:

  • You built broken code and let it sit for weeks
  • You knew the original code for whitecoin was broken and let it sit anyway, letting people believe lies about when staking would start
  • You went MIA without explanation
  • You demanded payment to fix a product you mis-assembled
  • You have a long standing reputation for "coins of the week"
  • You have uttered threats against this community
  • You have behaved in a completely unprofessional and childlike manner
  • You have told consistent un-truths
  • Most importantly: You have no authority or power over this coin anymore. We have completely seized it from you. I have changed all passwords and emails to all outlets. We have moved away from your original github. And we have had numerous, independent coders peer review your terrible work, and fix it.

Whitecoin's code is secure, working, and will never be touched by you again.

I think we're done here.

May I add
  • You pre-mined a MASSIVE AMMOUNT OF COIN THAT YOU THEN DUMPED AT THE HEIGHT OF THE VALUE !!!
  • You FAILED to INFORM people of your launch INTENTIONS to RIP PEOPLE OFF!!!
  • You Plagiarised MY REPO to put in a FALSE CLAIM for cash that you HAD already RIPPED OFF PEOPLE AT the LAUNCH!!!

In the Words of the great comb over king: YOUR FIRED!!!
