You know, I don't like to see "shit happen" to people, but this guy has been a real stick in the mud.

Here's another BBC news report on his involvement in taking down Liberty Reserve....

I'm not a money laundering criminal and I don't think it's fair to say that anyone who uses out of band money transfer services is automatically doing it for nefarious purposes.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin & Silkroad in Heroin Frame Plot on: July 30, 2013, 06:51:59 PM
I lol'd when I read this in the BBC I thought I'd share.

Full Story:
30 July 2013 Last updated at 10:23 ET

"Brian Krebs says the administrator of a Russian cybercrime forum hatched a plan to order heroin, arranged for it to be delivered to his home, then tipped off the police, making it look as if the call had come from a neighbour's house."

"The person behind the attempted plot, according to Mr Krebs, set up a bitcoin wallet to accept donations of the digital currency from fellow forum members.

He raised about $200 (131) worth of bitcoins and used it to buy 12 small bags of heroin using the Silk Road online black market.

The package duly arrived at Mr Krebs's house, and he handed it over to the police."

"This is just the latest example of a sustained smear campaign against Mr Krebs orchestrated by hackers and cybercriminals disgruntled at his exposure of their antics.

In March he was visited by a heavily armed police unit tricked into responding to a 911 call that had been made to look as if it originated from his home.

Mr Krebs says he opened the front door to find a squad of policemen pointing a battery of guns at him.

After being hand-cuffed and questioned, he managed to persuade the police they had been hoaxed by hackers."

Hmmm...that's odd.  There seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece...a headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avian variety....

I'd like to take some time and thank everyone who has helped me with this project so far.

I would like to give a special thanks to my girlfriend who has been keeping my friends company while I have been busy at my desk 'playing on my computer'.   She says she loves me so it must be true even though all my friends wear the same shade of lipstick as she does.  Go figure?

I would like to give a special thanks to my mom who leaves a tray of left-over food at the top of the basement stairs every Tuesday and Friday evenings.  Your cooking is the best mom!

I would also like to take a moment and thank my dad who kicks the tray of food down the stairs and yells, "When the fuck are you going to pick up this shit and get a haircut and get a real job you bum?"  Dad, your words of wisdom and encouragement will always inspire me.

Finally, I would also like to thank my government for all their help and support with education, business and economic development programs made available to people like me.   Without your assistance I would not be able to flounder in such a glorious cesspool of debt and misopportunity.

Due to the extreme volume of enquirers to this thread, I may not be able to respond in a timely manor.  Please send any additional messages to my automated personal assistant.

Most Sincerely,

hmm..over 60 views to my thread here and no replies from the peanut gallery?

I'm either doing something right, or doing something wrong I guess.

But, I will try and make it easy....

I made an account on my website at

Let's pretend that my database got dumped and my username is steven and the password is also steven   All lower case.

Can you log into my account?  If you can, I'll give you a bitcoin or a hug or something.

The code is all open, so maybe you can find a vulnerability?

Your comments and questions are always welcome!

Hi folks!

I've been working on an idea to provide an inexpensive 2 factor authentication system to websites.

Websites can hook into the APIs to easily provide a card based second layer of authentication.

The APIs and more info can be found here:

It's easier to show how it works than to explain it, so I made an open source PHP/MySQL login system that uses the APIs.  That site can be found here:

Since I wrote it all by hand, there might still be some bugs and things are still a little rough around the edges, but you can get a good idea what it's all about.

I know there are a lot of skilled programmers around here and I'm looking for your input to improve the API services and the security of the sample PHP code.

Maybe the whole idea of using a card based authentication is crap...idk.  But I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks guys!

20  Other / Off-topic / Link to my site and earn Bitcoins! The Beer Cookbook! on: September 27, 2011, 10:04:07 AM
Ok...I made another wonder site on Google's Appengine and I want people to help me promote it.

It's called, The Beer Cookbook and its a database of food recipes made with beer.

I wanted to experiment with a bunch of things, and one of them is an easy affiliate program for people who link to me.

You don't even have to sign up to be an affiliate.. just send visitors to this link:

When you use your address to send someone to my site, it saves it as a cookie, and now suddenly YOUR bitcoin address is on every recipe on our site!  Your address is also shown on our donation page as a sponsor!

It's a pretty simple concept... send traffic to my site using your address and any donations will go to your address!

Example URL:

Any time you return and visit any page, that donation address will be used.

I tried to explain it on my website, but I always word things more complicated than they actually are.

Thanks to anyone who wants to link to my site or has any suggestions!
