21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to beercoin? on: September 23, 2011, 04:54:57 AM
I made a Cooking with Beer recipe guide yesterday.  It's called, 'The Beer Cookbook'.  Wrote it on Google's appengine in python in a few hours.

I want to accept donations in beercoins....  thats why I was trolling this thread.  Smiley  Just to see if beercoins was still happening.

If anyone wants to add some recipes to the cookbook, just send them to me!

http://beercookbook.appspot.com

I just got the framework for the database and crap set up and have only added a few recipes so far but I will be adding a few more every day and taking suggestions from users.

Enjoy!

Is it: Make basically anything>pour in some beer>delicious?

Meh...close!  I've got about 100 beer recipes databased in the last day and added some images for the categories and stuff.  Might do the whole thing where people can upload their own recipes and vote on them or something...eventually.  Smiley

But I would still like more info on beercoins if they are still going....

22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beenz vs Bitcoin on: September 21, 2011, 06:25:09 AM
I started with this:

and a tape drive for serial storage.

I blew it up by trying to connect a remote control car up to the i/o port.  Sad  But it was cool cuz I got the Commodore 64 after that with a floppy drive.

We had a few computer clubs in town back then where some real enthusiasts came up with some pretty cool stuff.  Once the 386 was popular, many of us set op our own BBS and did the fidonet backbone mail thing.

Soon after that phase we got the windows 3.1 + winsock + internet thing it it all went to hell from there.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, "GOSUB FTW!"

As Einstein said, "Time is the only thing that keeps all the shit in the universe from happening all at once."

I think he said that..idk.

But time is relative and any measurement of time is relative to that which it is related.  If your business depended on the timing of a certain block being produced, then it would be expected that your employees arrive on time.

On the otherhand, if you want me to be there at 2:30 am on a Saturday night for no other reason than 'just because it block 150,000', you better be paying double overtime and have a big bowl of candy when I get there.

Zuck it?

Kneeboard rules with low HP outboards.  Tube has way too much drag and you can't get going fast enough to plane out on skis.

Planing out on a kneeboard is quite doable with a 9.9 even.

yeah...contact them.  They might have file transfer limits.

U not going to the right places maybe when you come?  And honestly...  most USA beer does suck.  But that's cool... We have 'Coors Light' up here too for when you come and visit.

Although your beer is cheap, your hard stuff is expensive and overpriced.  I would buy a bottle of Canadian rye whiskey before I would even think about importing your southern mash.   Cheesy

AAAND...when we're done with our crappy breweries we turn them into grow-ops: http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/CTVNewsAt11/20040112/pot_bust_040110/

Oh yeah...I remember what I wanted to say...  I support the MyLittlePonie Coin because I think that they have intrinsic value:
Quote
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An intrinsic property is an essential or inherent property of a system or of a material itself or within. It is independent of how much of the material is present and is independent of the form the material, e.g., one large piece or a collection of smaller pieces. Intrinsic properties are dependent mainly on the chemical composition or structure of the material.[1]

A property that is not essential or inherent is called an extrinsic property. For example, mass is a physical intrinsic property of any physical object, whereas weight is an extrinsic property that varies depending on the strength of the gravitational field in which the respective object is placed.

I would be honored to the task of creating a Beercoin x MyLittlePonyCoin exchange.

But I think such an exchange would need tons of security because it would always be hacked.

IDK...but I would be in total support of an international beercoin.

The problem is that the price of beer varies wildly.

I live in Canada and we love beer.  In Ontario, the cheapest deal right now is 15 bucks for 12 bottles at the beer store.  Out on the West coast, beer is double the price.

However, I live in a border town and can go across the bridge and get a 12 pack of 5.9% USA beer for less than 8 bucks.

Most USA beer sucks, but that 5.9% Natural Ice shit will fuck you up....but our weed is better so fuck them.

I forgot what I wanted to say.....

FTP is a strange protocol.  It uses one port for a control channel and other ports for the data.

Try using passive mode maybe: http://slacksite.com/other/ftp.html

But I avoid FTP and haven't used it in years because it's not a secure protocol and use SCP instead.  But many free/budget hosts won't give you SSH access.

PlayPal seems to be more ambitious in their attempts:

Hey, there's an idea. Have a garage sale right in front of your house and sell all of this stuff there. But only take Bitcoins.

LOL...this reminds me of the time where this guy broke into this house where the family was on vacation and he put everything out on the front yard and had a yard sale the next day.   ... I'm not sure if he used bitcoins or not.

In English, it is acceptable to use "masculine" words when the gender of the person is unknown. This is often the best stylistic choice. For example, it is better to say "he" than "they" when talking about a single person with unknown gender.

IDK...more and more computer texts I read use the female type instead of the s/he absurdness.  But I'd really watch out cuz if Alice and Mallory every got their shit together they would totally kick the loving fuck out of Bob in a heartbeat.
36  Bitcoin / Project Development / E-Will [JASPABAN] (Just Another Site Proposal Again By Another Noob) on: September 15, 2011, 07:23:30 AM
I love working on ideas...

This is the concept of an 'E-Will'.  Essentially, if you fall off the net and "die" you can have a preselected benefactor receive an e-mail message package.

If you fall off the grid for a preselected time, (2-24 weeks) the system sends out an email (with optional attachments) to the people you choose.

An example:
I want someone to have my bitcoin wallet if I die.  So I encrypt the file and upload it to E-Will and give my benefactor the decryption key.  If I don't 'check in' for 14-180 days the system timer will assume I have died and will send the email package to my benefactor.

The only thing I can't figure out is a good way to 'check in' to reset the system timer.  You could log into the E-Will website once a week to reset the timer, but that would suck.  It would be great to reset the timer every time you logged into Facebook or something.  Would there be a way to reset the timer every time you logged into gmail or facebook?  Probably not unless you were working directly with them.

But the idea is that if you don't log in for a selected time, your message and encrypted file(s) get sent to the benefactor(s) of your choice.

Someone set this up in SL.  Put your items in a box, and if you don't log in for a month, the box and it's contents get sent to your friend.  Some things just seem so much easier in there....

Yea...  I would like some empty land to rent if you can get a bitcoin currency happening in world.  That way I can build my own shop or w/e.

I would also like to see a sandbox so ppl can practice building stuff on your sim.

Maybe have adult areas for a Red Light district?

No freemason would ever carry on like that in public.  If he did his freemason mates would do what masons do to naughty masons.  And you don't want to know what that is.
