1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Motivation behind Proof-Of-StakeWork (POSW) on: July 12, 2019, 02:57:03 AM

The motivation behind Proof-Of-StakeWork (POSW) is to contribute to the blockchain community in 3 main ways:

Offer a model for how Layer 1 start-ups can protect against 51% attacks.
Allow individual and small mining operations to remain profitable.
Find a sustainable solution to the POW power consumption problem.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Eclipse attacks on blockchains on: June 24, 2019, 08:40:12 AM

A story about eclipse attacks on blockchains:

https://hackernoon.com/https-hackernoon-com-eclipse-attack-on-ethereum-a6f61e06e1a3

"Malicious nodes block the victim node’s view of the real blockchain with their imposter blockchain. Hence the name of one of blockchain’s major security threats — the Eclipse Attack."
3  Other / Off-topic / What is Blockchain Defined Networks (BDN)? on: May 23, 2019, 03:05:08 AM

"Blockchain Defined Networks (BDN), are a new class of software-defined networks that belong to this taxonomy. BDNs use the blockchain itself as a separate control plane, and use smart-contracts for programmability."

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hottest super light client protocols coming out on: May 21, 2019, 03:07:51 AM

From a Hacker Noon story:
"... blockchain is not perfect yet because it requires a device to synchronize a full copy of consensus data. Geth (Go-Ethereum) client provides multiple types of sync mode: full sync, fast sync, light sync. Diode, a Taiwan-based and U.S.-based blockchain initiative, recently developed a light client protocol called BlockQuick that aims to establish decentralized trust at a low bandwidth.

The following table is a comparison of different types of sync mode, trust model, bandwidth, and duration for Geth, FlyClient, BlockQuick, traditional Web PKI client....."

Any thoughts on FlyClient? or BlockQuick developed by Diode?

Hello all!

Here's an interesting hacker noon story about decentralized PKI....

And the decentralized PKI project that's mentioned in the story: https://diode.io
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Proof-of-StakeWork for miners! on: May 15, 2019, 10:04:12 AM
Hello miners!

Here's an interesting article about POW, POS, and Proof-of-StakeWork!

https://diode.io/mining/2019/05/06/introducing-proof-of-stakework.html

"Proof-of-StakeWork is, at its core, a POW protocol but also employs POS economics to allow miners to grow their mining operation by reinvesting the block reward instead of having to buy more hardware and consume more electricity"
8  Other / Off-topic / What are some of the coolest Blockchain-IoT projects you have seen? on: May 14, 2019, 06:09:40 AM

I'm curious to find out what are some of the best blockchain projects for IoT that are currently existing in the space.
Does anyone know any newer projects related to Blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT)? (no more IOTA please...)

My friend recommended me to check out the Diode project.
I see the most recent blog post they have is about Proof-of-StakeWork...
https://diode.io/mining/2019/05/06/introducing-proof-of-stakework.html

Not sure if this is the right place to post this topic.. let me know if there's a better place to post it, thanks.
