7. Promoting to non crypto savvy audiences. Wat ? WAT ? Have you built enough infrastructure and promoted your coin to it's niche audience (crypto people) ? ... Nope, but let's put it on TV, on some guy's butt, I'm sure Sally McMom will sprint to her computer and google the fuck out of Satoshi's whitepaper. No offence to the MMA fighter, it was just an example, I understand he likes Myriad too but damn ... doesn't it register with anyone how stupid it is to promote a rocket to soccer moms before promoting it to NASA and such ? Before building variants of it that can actually be used by said soccer moms ? Before building the infrastructure needed to use it ? ... I think it registers, but hey ... let's pump the shit out of it anyway. At least what doge did was fun as fuck.
THIS. Crypto-nerds are out of touch with the fact that there are MANY HIGHLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE who don't understand cryptocurrencies. They simply can't grasp the concepts, and therefore can't see the value they create. The only way to explain cryptos to them is to demonstrate them in action. Explaining how and why MYR is the next generation involves an additional layer of complexity. My question is "why isn't a tech-savvy entrepreneur supporting MYR"? Silicon Valley is pumping money into crypto. Then again, they can profit from the innovations of MYR without paying... open source software often has that issue.

Everything I mentioned earlier about fake share mining at sha256 myr.poolerino.com pool is still happening. ...
FYI, this anondings fella, is also showing up as the biggest miner at myr.suchpool.pw, which i think phoenix mentioned is a pool where he has noticed this issue.
OK, could you explain how they are scamming anyone except people dumb enough to mine on their pool? Pool is a scam = don't mine there PROBLEM SOLVED MYR Price on Mintpal doesn't look good - don't some of these miners understand that you don't sell at any price - you hold until it gets better? Because they get it for free, so selling at any price is profit, and they know that we know, so they have no incentive to hold (unlike actual miners). The most they can steal is some fraction of the total hashing power on this shitpool. I STILL don't understand what kind of tard would mine on such a pool. So: DON'T MINE ON POOLERINO - YOUR COINS ARE BEING STOLEN BY SCAMMERS EXPLOITING AN ANCIENT STRATUM BUG
Also, anyone who mines can sell when they want to. Lack of buying depth is probably the cause of the current price drop. Or someone is dumping coins to set up a pump. Or someone wants this coin gone for an unknown reason. Regardless, current price is not that important as long as it's not zero and it's not dollar parity. MYR is built on a solid innovation, the devs seem competent+, there are goods and services for sale using the coin, and there is no HYPE. Personally I see no reason to sell this coin in the near future! This is not the first time community members mentioned, Fake share, AN ANCIENT STRATUM BUG for MYR mining. Seems that all five algo pools had this bug and miners are not sure which pools are fair to mining. Now each algo has two or three alive mining pools, one or more pools might still operate this bug, it's difficult to judge and mining in clear pools, for this reason some my friends gave up mining MYR. Devs would u plz do a favor, provide your opinions or solution on this? thx Unfortunately there is little pool operators can do against certain attacks, e.g. block withholding attack (see http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/1338/how-is-block-solution-withholding-a-threat-to-mining-pools). The best defence against this attack is to have large enough hash rate so that the effect of such an attack is minimized. Pool operators can also monitor for users that submit a large number of shares without ever finding a block, but this could only be apparent after a long period of time. These attacks are not related to the Myriad daemon specifically and can be executed on any pool for any coin. There is nothing the Myriad daemon/wallet can do, it only accept good blocks and reject bad blocks, regardless of where they come from. The best solution for this is for pool operators and miners to be vigilant. Report anything suspicious to the pool operator and choose pools from trusted operators. that might explain why most pools are consistently at a 105-110% the estimated block time over the course of a month? OK I now see that this is a problem with more Stratum pools than I thought. However, from the Stack Exchange discussion: The consensus is that such attacks are likely to remain rare and generally insignificant. The payout for the attack is simply too small and it's not an effective way to bankrupt a pool or get miners to desert a pool unless it's a particularly small pool, in which case there's generally no point.Could anyone volunteer to write code to test a pool's stratum implementation remotely? Can people go back to solo mining or setup private pools with trusted users? Finally, dev has responded on this issue, can we all please stop screaming about falling prices being caused by this?

Everything I mentioned earlier about fake share mining at sha256 myr.poolerino.com pool is still happening. Mike the pool op banned one account but is ignoring the fact that its happening on multiple accounts, even after being notified. To top it off, it seems that I have been banned from this pool, for warning its members about their ongoing problems. This makes me lol, but it also shows that the pool operators are in on the scam. The fact that the dev's barely cared about this, tried to brush it aside, then made some basic post (which no one would see other than on that day) warning miners to stay away from this pool, tells me that their in on it or too stupid to care.
From Mike "The username is "anondings" and he is banned now from the server, blocked his account and payouts stopped. We will monitor the server now to see if he is not coming back again, problem is: we cant ban every user with high hashrate until we see he never solved a block...."
FYI, this anondings fella, is also showing up as the biggest miner at myr.suchpool.pw, which i think phoenix mentioned is a pool where he has noticed this issue.

Myrbaby proposal
It has come to my attention that one of our own, foodies123 (and his better half), are expecting a child. Having experienced this before I think it appropriate to help the upcoming new parents and child out.
Regards,
Just promise you don't name the child "Groestl"!

Hello Myriad Community!
We've just released PocketCrypto, a new Cryptocurrency Management App that will allow you to easily manage your Myriad investment. Hope you guys will check out the app and Good Luck to All!
We currently support all coins on Mintpal and Cryptsy. Polo and Bittrex will be added in approximately a week.
Wow, this looks killer! Also good to see miningrigrentals.com supporting MYR! MYR must be the only crypto that drops in price with good news!

All you who think the price is falling because of a lack of marketing are morons. Everyone in the crypto-shpere knows MYR and markething is not the issue. My last posts about the issue on the pools is still happening right now. If 40TH fake miners are able to steal hundreds of thousands of myr for free, then they can dump at any price points and drive the price to these levels. Im absolutely amazed at the lack of interest showed into resolving this problem which has been ongoing for fucking weeks. Yet morons keep saying dev tell us this, market that, and even worse morons who pop in to ask if the coin is dead.
This doesn't make sense - how could mining at one pool steal coins from everyone? Also, if someone is "stealing" coins why would they "dump them at any price"? Obviously they would want the price to INCREASE so they would hold them for awhile, or even pump and dump them. Finally, the price drop happened over a period of low volume - that looks more like somebody manipulating a weak market, could even be somebody buying from themselves at low prices?

there u go. This coin becomes all about tech and mining. I thought this is a coin for everyone. Investor, miner , trader , ect are different group of people interested in this coin. Right now , only miner are happy. Although there is a saying u can't keep everyone happy.
Pop quiz: What type of phenomenon are cryptocurrencies? A. Technological Innovation B. Marketing/Advertising Invention No coin is for "everyone", maybe .001% of the world population even knows what bitcoin is. The larger mission of cryptos is to remove friction from global commerce and break the debt stranglehold of global banksters. Myriad has added to this vision by democratizing the mining process to include as many people as possible - OF COURSE it is a favorite of intelligent miners!

Previously the work a block contributed to the blockchain was determined by the difficulty of the algorithm used to solve the block. This gave higher difficulty algorithms (like SHA) an advantage over lower difficulty algorithms in certain cases. This change implements algorithm weightings to normalise the work a block contributes to the block-chain across all the algorithms. The weightings for each algorithm is based on the work required to calculate a specific hash algorithm.
Thanks for your hard work! Myriad is my #1 altcoin pick for 2014! If Myriad needs a testnest, I might be able to contribute 10-15 nodes - PM me.

Looks like we got a pot started. There we go that's how you get shit done. Haters gone hate.
You'll get nothing and like it. If you had presented yourself like anything but a fucktard, you might've been able to get a bounty, and maybe even participate in real software development. My guess is that this clown didn't even "c0de" this "sploit", if it's even real. Don't give him a single Satoshi. I already have 2/3 slots filled (2 bitcoins paid). I have 1 more spot for anyone who wants to learn the xploit ;=). First come, first serve. Uh huhh right - you have no coins from anyone, you're hoping that the "just one spot left" psychology will work? ...annnd you've posted this "xploit" in many altcoin forums and hope to wheedle one BTC out of some fool who wants to haxorz coinz... FOAD. Derpfail.

I found a brand new sploit for stratum pools for fake hash. If you wanna learn PM. I will prove I know how first but the fee is 1btc (nigga gotta eat). You will make that 1btc back fast.. trust me. I am only teaching 3 people. First come, first serve
Pix or it didn't happen. Also, this won't work on P2Pool. Nah it doesn't work on p2pools this is true. Keywords: stratum pools. I will prove it to the one who is willing to pay for this extravagant info! Don't be a free loader! Patch it and submit to devs - unless your name in the crypto community really is only worth one BTC?
