New client version is out, other pools have not updated yet. Blockexplorers are on the new version already.

so what does this mean?

are my mined VIA coins from 1GH.com good on bittrex or not?

can anyone confirm this?

that would suck for me and others getting screwed....

thouhg I'm not sure I believe you since they're staying up with the block chain at least block number wise - you might be lying just to get hash away from them - out here - I trust no one to tell the truth.

so - let me ask the burning question - for those of you who invested before the coin was released for mining - how is your investment per coin vs. that current value of the coin?

because it's still a horrible investment of mining power versus just about every other coin out there.

thanks

IPO was worth about 6K sat per coin and via is currently worth about 23K.  I think the IPO holders are doing pretty well if they haven't already dumped their coins but not the miners.  The miners are keeping the network alive but the block reward will be down to 5 coins soon which is 18,000 coins/day.

that was a great investment then - perhaps the dumpers are done and out of coins which accounts for the price rise?

IPO holder did great but after today, 18,000 coins at 23K sat is 0.414 bitcoin with a day.  Its got to go up a whole lot more if it wants to keep miners. If not, then I think this coin might just die.  My pool is down to just 7 miners and the network is down immensely as well.
Check your math bro.

Yep I corrected it.

I've been waiting for network hash to go down in order to get more coins - less competition for blocks.

so

why is this pool: http://via.1gh.com/

about 25 blocks behind in their display?

my wallet is stays about 25 blocks higher - block number wise.

too bad these are the only guys finding blocks. I don'y join pools that don;t have enough hash to find blocks.

First things first it's probably a scam and second if it isn't by the time you actually get the miner it may not be worth crap or the hashrate for the price is way off.

bonafide scam
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] New VIAcoin pool [REWARD][DDOS Protected][0% fee][Fast payout] on: July 27, 2014, 07:33:58 PM
reward still active, we need miners ...

it's too bad that the  value of the coins keeps falling it is simply not very profitable at all to mine and since so many coins were sold in the IPO no one wants to invest their hahing power on a coin that could get dumped at any time

478  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Every Vendor is a Whore on: July 26, 2014, 10:02:32 AM
In case you did not know or were a newbie - every vendor of mining equipment is a whore - bar none.

the only one with any sense of business morality is Gaw

Everyone will sell you equipment at what they tell you is the best possible price and the price will drop even before the equipment arrives on your door step even if it only takes 3 to 5 days.

Get used to being treated like a Jon because they all lie in order to sell you equipment then drop the price on the equipment even before it arrives on your doorstep and then when you ask for a refund of the difference they go dead silent.

it's whores market - show them no respect because that's what they show you.

For the record, Gaw did the same thing. Ordered their rebranded scrypt miners and price drops before you get it.

In my business I let customers know that there are price drops imminent and have told many to wait a week or so before ordering. I'd rather have a long term loyal customer than a short term profit and a pissed off customer. There is not a bottomless well of potential customers in any business.

What happened jjj? Did  MAT break your heart?

thanks for mentioning them. I forgot all about them. They're really great business people used to doing business in an honorable way. I revised my OP - those guys are great!
