21  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: January 25, 2020, 09:27:22 AM
I don't think it's that easy to reach legendary as you are framing it, I think you have that view because you got most of your merits from the Bitcointalk Art Compition and it not that easy to earn 1000 merit's anyways. I am sure many would agree.

Although adding a new rank after legendary could be an better option IMO.

Exactly. I agree with you. I think your opinion has represented many users here.  Cheesy

Currently getting merit is already quite difficult. I think the forum rules related to the current ranking are quite difficult (fair), no need to be more difficult.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why now using merit? on: January 25, 2020, 08:43:17 AM
i offline long time, and now want to online again, but whats is merit? (...snip...)

After a few explanations about merit above, I think now you know what merit is. Now it's time to find out how to get merit (even though I don't really recommend it as a goal). some members say: "You must make a quality informative post and contribute to the forum, then, merit will come to you".

Each country has its own unique culture, but you can start off from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia.

While there are loads of videos on YouTube, I can highly recommend this vlogger, Harald Baldr who's extensively travelled across multiple countries, including some of the above. A no-nonsense guy too.

Hello @werkwerkwerk, I agree with @UserU, I also recommend the countries of Southeast Asia.
No matter where you start, there you can find various kinds of cultural uniqueness.

There is no standard for a quality post, maybe it's a high-profile post that can be a scam warning. The forum does not rate your post, all smerit owners will evaluate it themselves.
Just post something useful to the community and people will give you merit.
I think the only way to earn merit is to be a helpful person and publish quality articles.

Quote from @Juggy777:

7) Make sure your posts are constructive and helpful: I can’t stress how important post quality is, but since every guide has covered it in details I’ll keep it short here focus on quality rather than quantity.

I think that's an important point and one of the many suggestions I like about "How merit is acquired".
Visit: Merits Guide based on my personal experience. to read all the guidelines from @Juggy77, he shared his experience of merit acquisition there.

(..snip..)

In case you’re wondering why it’s a big deal then let me tell you that there are lots of potential dangers which include: Identity Theft, Hacking and worst of all your information will be sold to the corporates who’ll use it to bombard you with advertisements and products.

(..snip..)

If speaking of a wider impact, I agree with you! this will be a problem. I don't want to exaggerate, but recently I have gotten a telephone call from someone who says that he is from a company that offers services and products.

At first, I relaxed to respond to that, but the call continued to come almost every day and came from different companies offering different services/products ranging from insurance, cosmetics, to milk for babies. Of course, this is very disturbing. And one thing I realize from this case, my personal data has been leaked. OMG!  Shocked

I can't imagine if what the @Juggy777 said would happen. it will be very bad!

I recommend ESET. ESET offers basic training on threats, password policies, e-mail and website protection, including preventative measures. All are free.

Painful. So many problems that occur in this world, but the world leaders seemed to close their eyes. The policies that they make are mostly made for their own interests. There are no concrete steps to overcome the existing problem/crisis. Meanwhile, the individual's concern for the surrounding environment is also very low.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The most common mistakes in Blockchain — Deposit to a wrong address on: September 30, 2019, 05:59:10 PM
If you are using something like a mobile wallet that can scan QR codes, use that. I would also double check the first few letters and the last few letters as someone else suggested. If it's a rather large amount, I would check the whole address, even though the first 10 characters would be enough as a quick glance.

Remember that there are vanity address generators that can mimic the first 3 or 4 letters and you'd think you had the correct address when it is actually a different one.

Oh, my God! One more knowledge I got here.
Previously, I did not know about the "vanity address generator".
Thank you, this is important knowledge, another reason to increase my vigilance.

With all due respect, harizen, I think the instructions you show are a way to use in cases when we want to see posts from other people's profiles. correct me if it's wrong.

It does not matter, it's the same , whether you are viewing your own posts or another member's , you will still go through the same process , and please refrain from posting twice in a row, you should edit your first post, ask your question there and then delete the second post, in fact if I am not mistaken , what you just did is against the forum rules.

Thank you for reminding me mikeywith, I tried to avoid breaking the rules of this forum,, but apparently there was a thread that I missed about the forum rules.  Roll Eyes

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you find the thread(s) that you've posted. I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't remember exactly which section I'd posted in. I eventually found it but only after tediously searching for ages. I'm thinking there must be an easier way to find your original posts, but I can't see one. Is there one?

-Click Profile
-Show the last posts of this person (generally, the history of your post)
-Show the last topics started by this person (for topics you have created)

With all due respect, harizen, I think the instructions you show are a way to use in cases when we want to see posts from other people's profiles. correct me if it's wrong.
