We had actually changed that wording elsewhere (websites, forums etc) to reflect that contributors would be "contacted" this last two weeks to arrange the transfers to ensure that this will be a completely fair launch, but apparently we missed editing that post here on the bitcointalk forum.  Obviously we want contributors to be happy and we have worked very hard to prevent any "miscommunications" or "false advertising".  I apologize that we missed that one and will edit it immediately.

Want to let everybody know that we have a bunch of mining pools that have contacted us to get set up with Guncoin.  We will be providing source code to all of the pools first thing at launch in just over a week from now.

We do not have the mining pools listed yet because we want to make sure that they are set up and confirmed "running" before we list them.  Expect to see a complete list shortly after launch.

Firearms and ammunition ALONE represent over 11 billion $USD per year while employing over 35,000 people.  It really is a massive industry here and no matter how hard the gun-grabbers try to take that away, our 2nd Amendment rights always prevail.

When calculating the Guncoin supply, there was a million directions we could go that could all be considered "good" choices.  We decided to supply miners with enough coins to keep them interested while ensuring that it would take over 20 years to produce all 500 million coins.

Guncoin is a really fun project that a lot of folks can stand behind and support.

This is scheduled for release May 1st and we are all set for an awesome launch.  We have everything in order with updated code and developer support.  Guncoin will go through as planned!  And as Dabs mentioned, if for any reason Guncoin fails to launch, the IPCO investors will be refunded their contributions.

Just over 2 weeks left until launch!  As it stands now there are only a few IPCO investors which means that those that have invested are going to get A LOT of Guncoin!  Now is the time to get in early while you still can!!

With the FundAnything campaign now over, I wanted to give everyone the final numbers on that fundraiser...

There was a grand total of 2,152,900 GUN claimed by the FundAnything campaign.

That leaves 47,847,100 to be claimed for the IPCO.

Just a reminder...  ALL remaining coins will be split accordingly to the IPCO investors.  We will not retain any of those coins.

I can guarantee you that my account was wiped, for real.  Someone transferred 0.45 BTC out and all they left was .06 BTC.  I did not have 2FA Auth configured, so I suppose I can take partial responsibility for not securing my account as much as possible.  I have now configured 2FA for my account and decided to keep the remaining .06 in the account as a further "test".  As far as I am concerned, I have lost everything from that account so I see no harm in leaving a tiny amount there permanently.  I can honestly not say whether or not the site is officially a SCAM.  I just want others to be aware that quite a few people HAVE had their accounts hacked and BTC stolen.

Hey all, FYI, I was trying out the btc-arbs site for the past month or so and yesterday my account got wiped out as well.  Luckily I only had 0.45 BTC in the account, but it is now all gone.

After much consideration regarding changing the Guncoin source, we have almost decided on the final plan...

We are going to implement DigiShield immediately at block #30 to help prevent instamine by large miners/pools.  The rest of the specifications (rewards/block time) will mostly remain the same.

By this weekend, we will also be raising the minimum amount of Guncoin that IPCO contributors will receive and at the same time we will clarify the IPCO process wording on the website to clear some confusion.  We will make an update here with the exact changes when this is finalized.

Ok guys, I need your input now on some proposed changes we have been going over, taking into consideration your previous comments and concerns.  We are proposing the following configuration changes and implementing KGW.  I really want to know your thoughts on implementing KGW immediately (block 1) or after 1,000 blocks etc. and also how often to half rewards (or not at all).

The IPCO is being used for quite a few different things.  The $USD Fundraiser that we had originally run (expires in 6 days) has been spent on advertising as fast as it has came in.

The Core Team has already spent a lot of money out of our pockets on initial development, servers, hosting, domains, advertising, web design and more.  Some of the IPCO will be used to counter those personal costs.

Remaining IPCO will be used for further development and customizations and potentially more advertising.

Regarding negative attention from feds, we are not worried about that at all.  We are not offering anything outside of the law here and I believe the feds will see that for what it is.  In fact, we have had some very vocal law enforcement (and retired law enforcement) supporters already.  We are trying to accomplish two goals with Guncoin:  First, we are getting people interested in Cryptocurrency who are not already interested in Bitcoin and know nothing about it.  You can look at our facebook and twitter pages to see the expansive demographic of people interested already.  Secondly, and most importantly, we want people to use Guncoin for their transactions.  It really is a nightmare processing transactions for online firearms-related purchases right now.  PayPal is completely anti-gun and most transactions are currently done with cashiers checks, which in turn makes the transaction process take way longer than needed.

Yes, we have extensively tested Guncoin with the Technical Specifications listed in the main post of this thread and everything is smooth as butter.  Therefore, no matter what, we are launching on time May 1st.  We have been asked by a few folks to customize Guncoin further, and those changes are what we are looking at additional developers for.

Now, we have been in contact with a couple developers and will be going over all the specific options for further customization this weekend.  There will be an update after this weekend of what we have decided to do (or not do).  More info to come on that.
