1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Plutus ó 3% crypto back with every VISA card purchase. No staking required! on: May 05, 2020, 09:54:54 AM
Do you have any list of merchants where I can use your card like can I use this at KFC or AirBnB?
Secondly, there is too much scam in crypto sector. Your company is registered in some country or its just present on Internet?

Lol, it's just a debit card that you spend your crypto with. It can be used anywhere you use the visa card that's already in your wallet, did you read the website?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Americans are using Stimulus Checks to buy Bitcoin! on: April 23, 2020, 03:55:35 PM
Look at this link from CoinTelegraph

The graph in there shows the increase in $1200 transactions as soon as the stimulus checks were sent out  Cheesy

Good on them, I say. Better BTC than fiat!
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit isn't everything in bitcointalk! on: April 23, 2020, 03:54:05 PM
I'm not even 100% sure how to earn Merit. Though I was awarded 1 for a user, so I can be a jr member.

Agree though, users should be using the forum to interact and talk about a shared love of crypto/blockchain/tech, not just to raise their accs to a particular status
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: April 23, 2020, 03:52:22 PM
I think it is best to create a new address and use it. That will save you too much time, and you don't need to waste gas to move them to other wallets

With the amount of dead projects in my wallet, it actually makes more sense to move the live ones to a separate wallet!

However, in light of what others have said here, I might just leave it. It was just something I found a little annoying as it looked cluttered
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Hackers Withdrew $ 25 Million on: April 22, 2020, 03:35:23 PM
Seems the funds have been returned and I actually saw some people on Twitter offering the guy a job!
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency Courses for Beginners on: April 22, 2020, 03:29:58 PM
Khan Academy has a great course on 'Money, banking and central banks'

This includes a whole section on Bitcoin, definitely worth checking out. This is the link

Oh, and it's from Khan Academy too - so it's totally free!
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people run away from trading!!! on: April 22, 2020, 03:12:27 PM
For me, it's the following:

A) Risk

B) Difficulty learning - it can be daunting for new traders to learn all the new terminology and to separate legitimate advice from pseudo scientific bs

8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share Good Movies Please? on: April 22, 2020, 02:48:16 PM
Have you seen The King's Speech?

Before I watched it I thought it would be a load of old bs, but it's actually really good. Colin Firth is 10/10 in that film
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free BTC Mining Sites on: April 22, 2020, 02:46:32 PM
Techincally, as users above have mentioned, there are ways to get 'free' BTC, but no significant sum of course.

I would urge you though, please be vigilant when you find promises of 'free' BTC/Crypto in general. Best rule of thumb is - if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: April 22, 2020, 02:44:14 PM
I have seen so many posts about emerging cryptocurrency, and they think that someday it will take over our current system, or it will replace our fiat currency, which is really impossible, yes cryptocurrency is such an excellent currency especially the bitcoin, cryptocurrency keeps on being more prominent and more significant. Still, I think it is not enough to replace the fiat currency. It will be hard for the government to do that.

It will be hard for us if we use our cryptocurrency as our standard currency, the volatile currency will not be useful in real life; only that money is only suitable in real life. Not all individuals are really used in technology, so how could they handle their money if they are not familiar with the technology.

There are still some rural places in this world, so it will be hard for them to adopt the new system if this will be implemented in the future, which I hope won't happen, and even those person in provinces will also get mad if those things happen.
Actually, cryptocurrency holders also need fiat money. Even, in my opinion, 85% of cryptocurrency holders do not use it as a currency but rather a commodity or asset for a profit. They only take values, not functions. that means, if what is needed is value, then they will exchange it for fiat if it has a profit. so, fiat cannot be replaced by cryptocurrency because crypto holders also need fiat money.

I wouldn't be surprised if that number actually exceeded 85%.

However! If you look at the community and the userbase surrounding Ethereum/DeFi and, particularly, the DAI stablecoin then I can see some glimmer of hope when people ask if cryptocurrency can replace fiat.

The major problem is, at the moment, the difficulty curve that comes with crypto. It's not easy enough so that my mum/grandma/grandpa/dad could easily just jump in. You need that knowledge base.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: April 22, 2020, 02:41:04 PM
Sure, you can send them to whatever address you want, but why? You'll use gas for no good reason... I have about 10 dead tokens, i really don't care. I just ignore them.

I believe he is talking about Meta Maska or MEW or some other wallet interface.

I found a tutorial here about how to hide the tokens you don't want to see anymore.

There is no need to spend gas sending them.

Thank you! This is great, but I should have clarified in the OP. I was looking to remove them from my wallet address when I view it on Etherscan. In hindsight, of course this isn't possible and it looks like the way to get rid of them will be to send them to a dead/unused wallet. Although the transaction fees might only add up to a few $, I think I'll avoid and save my ETH.

Thanks everyone!

Is it possible to remove tokens from dead projects/tokens that are totally useless and worth $0 from my wallet? Do I just send them to a random address? I don't want to burden anyone else with those shitcoins  Cheesy

Makes sense, thanks! I just wanted to clean it up a little in the Etherscan drop down, so I don't need to search so much for tokens I care about

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH hits $160, after a +11% gainer in the last 24 hours on: April 22, 2020, 11:45:54 AM
It is difficult to say that growth will be sustainable growth, and also we cannot say that the increase is a trap because at this time the pandemic is still unstoppable so that everything will decline and also this crisis will create other difficulties in the world.
The recent up trend can be a bull trap so its good not to go all in for now and watch out the market closely. We know ETH is a good one but the market is still recovering and we might see a lot of corrections and dump before the real pump. I still see a $130 with ETH and that can happen this month.

If that happens, I will make sure to buy more ethereum although I know that it will not easy for me to buy at the right time. Hopefully, the price will not go down too far so we don't have to be worry because if the price drops, many people can panic at that time. Although if the price drop can be our chance to buy at the lower price, it will need time before the price can be back to the higher price.
If the price of Ethereum drops to $130, this will be a catastrophic price and could cause the entire market to collapse in a short time. I think this only happens when the Bitcoin price cannot recover and the bear market continues its downtrend. Of course I didn't expect this but covid-19 is getting worse so anything can happen.

I really can't see it dropping to $130 (will be devastated if it does haha). Agree though, with oil now at a negative value I think anything is possible in this COVID-19 situation. Crazy times.

I think it's unlikely that BTC will be supported, how is that going to work in a DEX which only supports ETH?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SelfKey Mobile Wallet now on available on Android and iOS on: April 21, 2020, 01:34:51 PM
will the wallet be limited only to ERC20 tokens or are you going to include other alts later on? Because not all erc20 tokens are valuable in the market. what are your criteria for a token to be included in your app? why did you focus first on these erc20 tokens? do you think it has advantage among crypto users?

I am also interested in this. Is it all ERC20 tokens and if not can you apply to list? Or can a user add their own choice manually?
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happiness on: April 21, 2020, 01:21:49 PM
You can't, but you can buy security which I think is essential to happiness (to an extent and in the West)
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25 millions in bitcoins and Ethereum lost in hack over the weekend. on: April 20, 2020, 03:05:01 PM
This is really sad news as hacking in these times is the last thing they needed, and I donít think theyíll ever recover their lost funds and now Iím just hoping that they find a way to survive in these testing times. Further itís been claimed that this hack was possible due to a bug that they failed to fix, and itís really sad that they didnít take better precautions to protect their funds.
This is bad news. Trust in DeFi Prime will be broken. Security class deFi can be hacked. We need to learn from here so that our assets are safe. Crypto blokchain has a risk, more secure if stored in the cloud, trezor wallet ofline.

I feel like DeFi was on such a roll before this, the last flash loans attack was much smaller and the impact wasn't so bad.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty alone is not enough on: April 19, 2020, 02:04:38 AM
Bounty campaign is a good way for projects to spread the word and gain publicity in the cryptocurrency market. But it is not the best way to gain investors. Good projects don't depend on bounties alone to promote their token sale.
And this is because when bounty hunters post about a project, majority of these posts is only seen by other bounty hunters and not to the real investors. And these posts are just basic and can not convince good investors to invest.
Bringing in the investors and funds depends on the team's marketing ability and their ability to close deals. This is why good projects attend a lot of crypto events and network with people.
Though bounties help a project to create popularity and hype among crypto users, the main investment and funds is brought in by the team's marketing and closing ability.

Thats true, because most of bounty hunters are using their fake facebook ,twitter , youtube accounts for bounty campaigns.

but then what should they need to do for get investors to their projects. what did you mean by "team's marcketing" .
