1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][HOW TO] mine monero on Windows on: May 17, 2014, 09:02:39 PM
Monero is a brand new crypto that you can only mine with your CPU.
Because it is the beginning, it is very lucrative and you can make decent money.
Here is how to do...

A - HOW TO MINE

1 ) Download the miner here :
https://mega.co.nz/#!mFAFwAxD!vDJUDv7pbAWODm_iq4yc_dmbNYxeVp7mh_3QhpuWthw

2 ) Extract the zip file somewhere.

3 ) Open the folder.

4 ) Open simplewallet.exe

5 ) Name your wallet in simplewallet. For example mywallet

6 ) Type the command : address in simplewallet to see your address.
or simply exit simplewallet and open the file mywallet.address.txt that has been created when you named your wallet.

7 ) Copy your address.

8 ) Create a new text file with a right click in the monero folder.

9 ) Write the command :
C:\path_to_simpleminer\simpleminer.exe --pool-addr=monero.crypto-pool.fr:5555 --login=your_address_here --pass x

Be sure that you use monero.crypto-pool.fr:5555 as a pool because some other pools doesn't have payout setup yet !

10 ) Save the text as launch.bat
or simply exit and save then rename your text file with .bat extension.

11 ) Click on the launch.bat to start mining

If the bat file doesn't work, you can open a command prompt, paste the command and press ENTER.

You must open one instance per thread. If you have 4 threads, open 4 times the launch.bat.

B - HOW TO CHECK STATS

To see your mining stats, go to monero.crypto-pool

Paste your address

C - HOW TO CHECK WALLET

To check your wallet, open bitmonerod.exe

Wait for bitmonerod to sync.
You'll notice that it can take hours so if you don't want to wait, exit bitmonerod and download the blockchain here :
https://mega.co.nz/#!LZBz0Agb!DSx6UV1FzVoQypseSGLRaEoBbrKehWZaSRqoNZnnGVQ

Extract the blockchain in the folder
C:\Users\you\AppData\Roaming\bitmonero (Replace you by the name of the current user on windows)

Keep bitmonerod open and open simplewallet.exe

Type refresh to refresh the wallet

Type balance to check your balance after a refresh

Type save to save your balance

Type exit to save and exit simplewallet

If you don't wait for bitmonerod to sync, simplewallet will tell you Error: refresh failed: daemon is busy. Please try later. Blocks received: 0

Always type exit to leave bitmonerod or the blockchain will not be saved.

How do I add old wallet to simple wallet? Thank you ☻

i'm thinking about mining in a pool with simpleminer.exe, does this support to select number of threads to mine ?

i have a 8-core cpu, i guess simpleminer.exe will automatically run with 8 threads ?
Type cores=8 to config file

yeh i can see a lot of people are going to ask, here is 32bit and 64bit ccminer 0.6 compiled
https://mega.co.nz/#!Aw13XIYD!ETSB1GRSQdmqGt1jnlMLV4ZOhJ__qtfOSc0vOMKyUQY
Thanks bigjme. Is this Compute 3.5? I tried using your compile with my same old groestl bat file. The performance was worse. From 3100+ kh/s down to ~2450kh/s. You experiencing any difference?

on Windows this should now be built in four flavours, when done correctly Wink

Compute 2.0  with #define MAXWELL_OR_FERMI 1   <-- Fermi
Compute 3.0  with #define MAXWELL_OR_FERMI 0   <-- old Kepler
Compute 3.5  with #define MAXWELL_OR_FERMI 0   <-- highend Kepler and GT630/640 with compute 3.5
Compute 3.5  with #define MAXWELL_OR_FERMI 1   <-- for Maxwell

the flag must be set in both .cu modules with "groestl" in its name. It affects
the speed optimization of the Groestl code.

at some point I will code a runtime selection of the MAXWELL_OR_FERMI flag.

Christian

Another great job! Thank you. Will you add support for Dark coin and PTS? ☺
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: fork on: April 20, 2014, 03:38:50 PM
coin is forked..

Cryptsy has had deposits frozen for 11 straight hours, investigating a Fork they said.
Can confirm that there has been no fork, and WC is on the correct chain.
Happy Easter!
When mining ends?
Thank you ☺

Well, GPU miner is a good things to TWE.
So next is nVidia GPU's CUDA miner.
Then there will many people mining TWE.

cudaminer.exe -algo=twe -o stratum+tcp://mine1.twe.nonce-pool.com:3390 -u TQwjf7ZZQwzQujPcht3RGnkMkW1zTkQNyy -P 1313  -i 0 -l T5x24 -C 1 -H 2

Pointed a few of my 750 TI's towards this to mine over the night. Let's see how it goes. Currently I'm getting 2.2~2.3 MH/s per 750 Ti. The wallet gets no block source though.

hI,
i HAVE 2X gtx750 TI, i GET 5279KH/S ☺

I'm not getting anywhere near those. @ T70x24 -C 2 -H 2 I'm getting at most 2.4 MH/s on some of my cards, nowhere near 3000s KH/s that other people reported. any thoughts?

cudaminer.exe --algo scrypt:64 -t 2 -o stratum+tcp://adn.minebig.com:3399 -u gtx750.gpu -p 1313  -i 0 -l T70x24 -C 1 -H 2

MSI afterburner 135mhz mem- 651mhz core clock getting on 2   6456Kh/s

Very simple, somebody with a huge number of PCs

yeah not hard to do if you have the resources to throw at it. I've 36 MHS without breaking the bank

Big miners lease hundreds of cores for short period time when difficulty is low. It is risky business, If coin go bust, they loose....

Holy Christ. How come that someone having over 50k of TWEs while we don't have a miner and a pool a few hours ago?? Did the dev instamine himself or some big whale from ypool want to try this coin?
Sorry if it sounds harsh but Im very surprised with this 50k TWEs. I'm solomining with 10Mhs for around 20hours and only found 6 blocks = 300 TWEs.

This is exactly what I was worried about when I was saying we need a pool back on page 6. So someone now controls 25% of all twe so far and can easily manipulate prices to suit him. So just yet another pump and dump coin

There's a pool and miner now but it might be too late

This dev nerds do not think like a humans. Most new miners have WINDOWS os so you nerds make them LEAVE mining after they get frustrated...

Miner pointed to my wallet is working for me as well. Found a block in less than an hour with ~15MH/s

I used cygwin to compile it.
after compiling , use

./minerd -a twe -o localhost:rpcport -O user:pass -t no.ofthreads
[/ Hi, It is not connecting, I have following config:  minerd.exe -a twe -o 127.0.0.1:3009  -O Txxx7ZZQwzQujPcht3RGXXX:1313 -t 1

Hey guys, I just found this coin. It's really cheap right now so I bought a shitload. I can't wait to make a huge profit.  Roll Eyes

Welcome! Enjoy the ride! Your ticket is 6x cheaper than mine Smiley

the SPA mini-pump has started on all exchanges, help to make it a big nice steady rising pump so everyone can benefit from it

these pussys will just dump again when it goes up a bit, its starting to piss me off.

Unfortunately, I feel the same way about these assholes.  They do little 15 minute mini-pumps where the only ones who benefit are themselves.  They set up fake sell walls and buy walls to bat people in.  If you try and put in a large sell order during the rise, they'll just keep on pushing your order down with new walls undercutting you.

Sometimes I actually wish the crypto industry was 'semi-regulated,' because bots absolutely destroy the game.

How can we reverse it? ☺ Thank you

Somebody with enough coin could pump the shit out of this if they know what theyre doing.

that could be said about any coin, really. The people who actually know what they are doing have already decided this coin isn't worth it.

Yep, knew it was not a good sceen as soon as the hash dissapeared.

Hash disappeared because people stopped mining itsince everyone decided to dump. Price increases and the hash goes up when.more people jump on board. More money to be made the more people mine, the more people mine the higher the hash. Price contributes to the hash rate not the other way around. Unless youre talking about something like 42 coin which is extremely hard to get a coin.

******************The Bots are working to lower the price. Easy to beat! Just place sell orders in many increments like 000891/000892/000893 etc to pump it to desire price. Anyone want to join? Only desperate miners or scared folks selling now....
