1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: Today at 05:59:41 AM
If anyone manages to catch the price and ship date, please share.

I'm working the overnight shift. I'll post when I see something.

2hrs ago, they said on Twitter, a ship date of OCTOBER.

2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: Today at 12:49:13 AM
Bitmain just announced on twitter they will be opening sales at 1500 on 2/25 (GMT+8) for an S19j.   90th @ 3100w = 34.5 j/th.

No price indicated yet, or if they'll accept btc for payment

And that's 2am tonight EST

I suspect they collected all the imperfect chips previously set aside, not good enough for the s19 or s19pro......and threw them in a box to sell as the s19j.....to salvage income from the imperfect parts.  (Reminds me of packaging burnt potato chips or pretzel pieces and selling them as a unique product)

I will not be partaking in this model.  I just sold some coin over the weekend and bought my wife a 2019 MB GLC AMG 43.

I'll take it. And I'll even pay you 50% above asking price.

Smells fishy.  New forum member buys $30,000 worth of gear, and never "realized" they had expensive electric.  Who spends that much money without researching first?

I've offered to drive to them, meet in person, and pay cash.

Sent PM last week.  No reply.

I'm confident these miners only exist within the imagination of the OP
fuck off son of the bitch

Already sold while deer like you fuck the head

Sure bud,.  If you say so.

Btw, nice sales technique.

Well, if it sounds too good to be true...

Did some more digging. Might be legit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5028653.0.
7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MicroBT WhatsMiner M30S++, M30S+, M30S, M31S+ Hardware Specifics on: December 28, 2020, 07:20:39 AM
Considering the current price and availability of Bitmain's S19's...... this has popped up on my radar https://whatsminer.net/product/m31splus-80t-presale-april2021/

M31s+

and it available a whole lot sooner.

But I've only run Bitmain gear and have no experience with MicroBT gear.  Just looking at one unit, so I can run a circuit just for that with the higher watts/amps.

Edit: but now I'm seeing different websites. Whatsminer.net vs .com.    Oh, the fun of navigating scam sites
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: December 27, 2020, 05:45:15 AM
I went ahead and signed in, put an s19 in my cart.  Went to proceed to check out and it said order placed, continue to payment.  Then the only option available was instructions to wire USD.  No btc payment option.  What sense does that make?  Can't pay with btc to buy product from btc mining company? I thought that was a highlight of btc.  Being able to transfer money around the world in a few minutes.

Yeah well.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: December 25, 2020, 01:15:53 AM
Bitmain website just updated next available delivery dates to August.
Id love to grab one, but I don't like the idea of paying now, and waiting 8 months for delivery.
(Although I could reduce my 2020 tax liability by buying now)
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Electric Rates.... look around in de-regulated states on: December 25, 2020, 01:01:42 AM
1 year update:

Well, I've run a year now with this electric rate, and the 12mo contract was up last week.  I received email and mail correspondence from Inspire, renewing the 12mo contract...... AT THE SAME RATE, FOR ANOTHER 12mo !

In short, I'm running five S17+ 73's. And with my power use, I average about 6.7-6.8 cents per kWh.

The more power I use, the cheaper it is per kWh.  I'd consider adding another unit, but I fear I'm reaching the maximum of my residential power capacity, and one more unit would require extensive modifications to heat exhaust methods.

At current btc prices.(23-24k).....I'm well over 150% profit margin. Last I checked, my break even was around $8800-9000 btc price.
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Where to fix your Asic miners. on: December 19, 2020, 09:44:24 PM
I can vouch for HM Tech. Used them last year.
(That $150 is per board)

Level1 Diagnostic Fee   =$40
Basic Hashboard Repair $150 x 3 = $450
Est. Return Shipping = $37
Total = $ 527.00

Got an S17+73 from a friend for a great price. UPS shipping knocked a bunch of heat sinks loose. Friend refunded half because he's a nice guy. After HMTech repair, still cheaper than anywhere else.

13  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: selling new antminers s19!!! on: December 18, 2020, 10:30:22 AM
Where in NY?  I can drive to you and pay cash.

 And which S19 version?
14  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stolen dream I need help locating 300 units is it possible ? on: November 05, 2020, 11:51:32 PM
(Advice from a cop)

Don't worry about an attorney, this isn't a civil law matter.  The situation you describe is criminal theft and fraud.  Contact local police in every jurisdiction when he lives, you live, and where you think miners currently are.  And if state lines were crossed during the crime, contact the local FBI office near you
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No time to waste - US has to act now to reverse climate change trend on: September 18, 2020, 10:04:45 PM
Today I watched a very convincing video on how the following years are crucial for the future of humanity. Scientists agree that for humanity to survive global warming without catastrophic consequences on a global level, then global warming should be limited between 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius. Current models show that any plan to reach this goal according to current trends should be very rapid. Fossil fuels on the majority of factories and cars should be replaced within the following four years or the damage will be irreversible and global. The U.S. has the technology to do it, it's the world's biggest economy. It's time to decarbonize and lead the world once again. Are you going to stand by watching idly? I say us bitcoiners should take a stance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfAXbGInwno

Yeah, they've been saying that since Al Gore was VP. They just called it global warming back then.  Proved incorrect, the liberals needed to rename it,,,climate change.  Well shit, the earths climate has been changing for millions of years

Giving money to governments will not halt climate change.

The legal restrictions on emissions, and voluntary actions taken in the last 2 decades has done more to help than any tax/fee/green deal ever could.

And the US is the leading voluntary compliance location making the largest positive effect, while other countries don't care and still increase pollution levels
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: September 18, 2020, 09:55:15 PM
Rather than wait for Bitmain repair location to open post-covid to fix my DOA claim, I just sold my unit on eBay.
The S17+ 70 I got cost me less than $200 after applying Bitmain credit.  It arrived with one dead board.
I got $650 for it on eBay.

And bought a S17+73 from a friend for $650.

All in all..... it was much better than dealing with Bitmain
17  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling s17pro 50, s17e 64, and s17+ 70 on: August 16, 2020, 11:55:47 PM
I am interested in buying all of them if you can ship to Serbia and you use confirmed escrow from btctalk like Phil.

Well, they're dedicated to a 7 day auction on eBay right now, and I wasn't offering international shipping in the eBay ad. Ups ground to the lower 48 only right now.

Update: all 3 sold on eBay already.  Apologies to anyone looking.

@philipma1957

Was it you that said somewhere you have a repair contact in NC somewhere?  I got and S17+ for almost free with my Bitmain credit just prior to the virus. One board isnt reading (temp sensor error). I created a DOA repair ticket with Bitmain, and they wanted me to ship it to Asia for repair because CA faculty was closed due to virus. The agreed to honor my request to wait for CA to re-open..... but..... I'm still waiting.
It's running fine on two boards, but was wonder what kind of costs i might incur to ship to NC dude for repair.  Might even be able to hand deliver... I have several friends from here in PA who work down there, and they go back n forth often.
