301  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Trump Impeachment Poll: Who's Fault Is It? on: October 10, 2019, 05:29:38 PM
FOX is nowhere near what is was a few years ago.

Its cute that these tards think Fox News is the voice of the conservatives just because that is all they are ever exposed to on their glowing retard box. Keep dreaming about a reversal of the 2016 election results while we prepare for 4 more years.

I stopped watching news altogether years ago when I got rid of cable.

But didnt I hear FOX hired Sam Sheppard (fired by CNN) and Donna Bazille (DNC corrupt leader) ?

Yeah and that Gutfeld guy Youtube keeps trying to force feed me really annoys the piss out of me. He is like a 2nd rate wannabe Colbert, who is himself a 2nd rate hack, so I dunno what that makes Gutfeld.

Makes you wonder what changed with FOX. I'd be willing to bet we could follow the money and find a funding change that occurred prior to them hiring those people.

Cool.   Still waiting on a legit reason to impeach
305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: October 10, 2019, 12:37:43 AM
So, lets get crazy and say two units will run 6000w.
And your "iffy" voltage gets down to 220v

That'll make your two units draw about 27A. Maybe 27.5A

Breaker isnt tripping til 30A. But its close.
Your power would have to drop to 200v to trip your breaker.

10ga wire is rated for 30A, but the 80% rule (24A) is recommended. But, thats put in place due to longer runs.

You'd probably be just fine if your circuit run was short.

But to be safe, 40A breaker with 8ga wire would be recommended for two of these units. But 30A, 10ga can be done if you know what you're doing electrically.
306  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: October 09, 2019, 08:54:39 PM
wait, 3kw (on two cables) cannot run on a 30amp breaker if another miner is plugged in on the same breaker(ie. a t17e which draws almost as much)? the circuit is 220v; also, i smell s19's for the halving  Lips sealed

Sure they can.  A 3000 watt units is 12.5A on a 240v circuit.  Two units pulling 25A on a 30A circuit, run with 10ga wire will be just fine.  24A on 10ga wire is recommended, but if its a short wiring run, say under 25', there should be no problems.

WSJ/NBC poll ?   Yeah, I'm sure that polled an equal amount of the country's beliefs.

A recent poll in Hustler magazine revealed that men like to look at boobs.
A recent poll in The Vatican news reveled that no one looks at boobs.

What the heck do you think you'd get out of a WSJ/NBC poll.  90% of their audience is liberal.
How do you think the same "poll" would play out if taken by The Daily Wire?

Ive been on this earth for almost 50 years, and no one has yet to ask me my opinion on any poll.

Do you truly think that the people who read WSJ - the business journal - are liberals? I'd understand that argument if you were talking about CNN twitter poll, or something along those lines.

But this is a poll that isn't on the readers, its done scientifically to attempt to minimize the margin of error. They're calling people from all around the country -- probably around 500 or so from different parties and different ideologies, different income levels, walks of life, etc (or at least they try for this)

So your argument is invalid. This isn't a bias on the readers or anything like that.

If you would've started saying that you think polling is flawed for x,y, z reason (Ex: People who respond to polls are biased because they respond, issues with data gathering, issues of questions) then I would've said that your argument is fine. But the one you've presented isn't legitimate.

You may be right. I didn't bother spending the time to research the polling procedure for this poll.

But, I do know most polls are about as reliable as the toilet paper they're printed on.

Gee.... look at the funny math they used to score better than 50%:

"The proportion who say Congress should move to impeachment and removal has ticked up to 24% from 21%, while those who support an impeachment inquiry have swelled to 31% from 27%.
Taken together, that 55% majority backing an impeachment inquiry at minimum is the highest the NBC/WSJ poll has shown this year."

Do you think Congress should move to impeach?  Answer yes.
Do you support an impeachment inquiry?  Answer yes.

Cool, you now count as two votes

Seems with Bitmain, I cannot place an order for an item..... without a newer, better version being released before the one I ordered even ships

310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia to meddle in US presidential elections 2020 on: October 08, 2019, 09:53:50 PM

LOL  Grin, but in this digital age a foreign country can really influence an election results. They can help shape a candidates image and positioning in social media and internet which can greatly affects a candidates perception.Of course they a help a candidate that is not anti or can help to their interest. Though its not appropriate  to meddle in other countries affairs but we are  fast becoming a nearby neighbors with this internet technology.

Really?  Social media influence is meddling in an election?  Who, might I ask, is really dumb enough to believe everything they read on the internet?
Shouldn't we all be able to form our own opinions and research the candidates? If we cant, we are a stupid society. Facebook news articles are the most full o' crap articles ever written. And then when you get to talking with fools who cite websites like factcheck.org......  do yourself a favor and first research who funds the websites.

311  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain is taking paypal !!!! on: October 08, 2019, 02:40:49 PM
Checked my PayPal acct and realized I had several thousand available for credit.    So, I pulled the trigger on the 6mo zero interest credit.  Grabbed another S17e

So, that makes one S17e arriving Nov, another S17e in Dec.

Those will replace the S9i, and S17pro50 in sig line below.  I'll try to sell those on eBay at eBay prices, and recoup most of the cost.

That'll put me at max comfortable electrical draw. And about 180TH.
312  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain is taking paypal !!!! on: October 08, 2019, 02:25:24 PM
Interesting.... was just browsing their shop a few minutes ago... but didnt pull the trigger because current value of btc.   Made a $2600 purchase last month, with less coin than it would take to buy make a $2300 purchase today.

314  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: September 28, 2019, 10:13:07 PM
Maybe sleep mode is something like scheduling? Where you can program down times or start up times?

Didn't see anywhere to add times.  Just another dot to select from, above low power/normal/turbo.

Also noticing temps are running a little cooler, fans seem to be running better, and I'm no longer showing the three xxx chips on my boards.  Friend had the same issue, three xxx showing bad chips, that he surmised was a software glitch.  Thats gone now

So, just did the Bitmain firmware upgrade on my Pro-50 and non-pro 56.   Seems to have added "sleep mode".

Anyone know what this new Sleep Mode actually does?

From their site:
1. Enhance anti-virus capability
2. Add sleep mode.
3. Improve memory and temperature module. 4. Use new build tools to build firmware.
317  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you in favor in Same Sex Marriage? on: September 28, 2019, 12:41:43 PM
I have nothing against opposite sex marriage etc.
But I am against when homosexual propaganda is forcefully fed to us.
Be what you like, but do not advertise it to our kids. Don't ask 5 year old girls and boys at schools how they identify themselves etc.
You are free to do whatever you like if your freedom doesn't disturb others.

I agree with this 100%.

Do what you want. Love whoever you want.

I dont care what gender you choose to have sex with.

But I dont need to hear about it, see it, or support a "March" for it in the middle of the street.

Leave me alone.

It's called a private life for a reason

On a funny note:   If it weren't for straight people, gays would be extinct
318  Other / Politics & Society / Re: REEE: [US Only] Impeachment Vote on: September 28, 2019, 12:12:39 PM
Wondering...... just wondering here......

If maybe congress should get back to work doing what they wered hire for. Write and create bills and laws.  Instead of the never-ending witch hunt of nothingness.  They've wasted so much time and money looking for that VHS tape that Trump did rewind before returning it to Blockbuster.

The only thing Democrats have accomplished in the last 3 years, is to piss off everyone who isnt a staunch left-wing dingbat.  Now, even the moderate middle will be motivated to vote a straight R ticket. Everyone is sick and tired of hearing the non-stop bitching and whining from the left.  Get back to doing what you were elected for !
319  Other / Politics & Society / Re: REEE: [US Only] Impeachment Vote on: September 27, 2019, 11:21:21 PM
Did anyone else stop to consider........ this "whistleblower" reportedly got the info 2nd or third hand.  Was someone in that chain of rumor a Trump plant ?, passing word of 'there's impeachable evidence over there' ? All with the intent to bait the Dems into their typical spastic feeding frenzy, which in the end, only really bought the spotlight back onto the Biden crimes committed there.

Look over here for bad Trump stuff.
Looks there and only finds Biden bad stuff. (That everyone forgot about)

I think Trump cat-fished the idiot Dems, knowing they'd trip over themselves for "evidence". (While forgetting that they buried the Biden crime), only to re-expose the Biden crimes.

Hook, line, and sinker

320  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Pool hopping..... yea or nay? on: September 25, 2019, 09:00:16 PM
Just my opinion here but I would say most on a pool like BTC.com are in a couple categories. Misinformed about mining and fell for the flashy website. Entirely business focused and more concerned with a known expected payout per day. This one is just pure guess but i imagine they also have a large amount of their own hashrate. Then there are the farms that probably receive e a discounted fee to keep their hashrate stable.

I personally like PPLNS and am only using pps+ at the moment for the purpose of a review. I am also just a home miner who only answers to himself so I have that luxury

Yeah, home miner here as well.  I couldn't care less about daily payout.  Not concerned if its weekly monthly or whatever.  Just want to accumulate at the best rate for long term storage.
And the only number I'm worried about is what the price of btc will be in 2027, and how much I can accumulate by then.    That will determine if I can fully retire with 25yrs of service, or if I need to work another 5yrs for the $1/4mil lump sum D.R.O.P payout.
