To be very honest. What I have found is that most of the people here just merit users with higher rank and do not prefer users with lower ranks.
That's not what I've seen. But if you stumble upon new users who make good posts and haven't received Merit yet, please post them in Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. I'm still looking for a couple hundred good posts to finally empty my sMerit stash Tongue

Bookmarked your link.

Well I will for sure but who will share mine if I had any?

To be very honest. What I have found is that most of the people here just merit users with higher rank and do not prefer users with lower ranks. I do not know why maybe because they thing that they can get something in return? And yes I also believes that merit of newbies are really hard no matter how good they post.

You got your first merit in your 3rd post on the forum, so it doesn't seem that it's really hard for newbies to get merit if they write decent posts.
There were bunch of merit giveaway threads aimed at the Newbies and Jr Member rank, but barely anyone was applying, to the point that they were locked in the end due low interest.

I will never ever apply in something like merit giveaways thread. I just believe myself that I can help the community and keep it spam free and can earn merit genuinely.

Yes. I got 1 merit on my 3rd post.

I believe 50% users still didn't earned single merits. That means earning merit is very difficult for them.
The percentage is much higher: in the last 3 months, 121,235 users have been active. Many of those accounts are no doubt owned by the same person. In the past 2 years, 32,570 have received at least 1 Merit. It's no surprise that many of those are users can be found in countless bounty threads.

I think the straggle to get merit is same to all. For newbies it is considered more difficult
To get Merit, you need 2 things:
1. Decent posts
2. Someone with sMerit to give needs to read your posts
You're not a spammer, so I've merited some of your posts.

The art contest was no airdrop. The merits awarded there were for effort, for hours of labour, therefore I really don't understand why it matters if someone earned 300 merits there or 10. They were not airdropped; they were given for real work.
It's not a problem that you earned a lot of Merit from the art contest. The problem will be for you to reproduce this amount and turn it into a consistent flow of Merit earnings.

To be very honest. What I have found is that most of the people here just merit users with higher rank and do not prefer users with lower ranks. I do not know why maybe because they thing that they can get something in return? And yes I also believes that merit of newbies are really hard no matter how good they post.

I believe that merit is something that is free for everyone, anyone can have if he or she is posting constructively and helping the community or contributing.

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost BTC in hard drive failure, still have to pay taxes? on: January 26, 2020, 01:45:57 PM
If you had big amount of Bitcoin and bought it from exchanges with KYC verification, you should ask your lawyer who's expert on cryptocurrency tax.

Don't rely too much on advice from stranger.

After reading all the comments I found this as the genuine and honest reply to OP.

What I believe is you still have to pay tax because you were entitled to pay tax when you bought the coins so no matter if you lost them or not you are still required to pay tax even so you tell them that you have lost.

It all depends on where you live and how you obtained the BTC.

Where I'm at if I'd just bought it then no. If I got it by earning it and trading if it's above the limits they give then I'm still liable for the tax on those earnings even if I have no way of paying it.

Look at these people who did a million shitcoin trades, wound up with nothing and didn't realise every trade was taxable.

Still, I wouldn't bother mentioning it.

The op has not provided any kind of information to us whether he brought those coins or he earned it via some services he may have provided, and till he doesn’t clarify this how are we supposed to guide him about his tax liability?. @gentlemand how does the taxman find about these trades if the person doesn’t disclose it?, or do taxmen get inputs from the exchanges regarding these transaction can you clarify this part?.

If the OP is saying that he still have to pay tax... then it makes us clear that he must've used some exchange or some way where he has provided the information like KYC etc otherwise he wont bother to ask.

P.S why I am unable to give merit? It says 0 don't worry reply me in inbox if someone knows why I have 0 to keep the thread clean

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New investors are too impatience on: January 24, 2020, 05:49:36 PM
To be honest you cannot call them investors if they do not have patience while investing the money. The investor understands that he/she is going to invest the money for a long term.

Also, The money invested is not blindly they know that it can be for long term not short term. The real profit is in long term and the genuine one.

8  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on the World War 3 and its possible impacts on future? on: January 23, 2020, 07:11:05 PM
We are not going to get a war among USA and IRAN if the war happens it will be between world. These kind of things will keep happening and soon we will see that world war will be started among muslims and non-muslims that is what I am seeing.
If there is a third world war then it will be between believers and non believers and what you said is precise but there is a problem there, in Islam too there is fight between Shina and Sunnis and countries like Saudi and UAE have Sunni majority while Iran have a Shia majority and so is the reason they do not jell together and the fight started some 1400 years back and it is highly unlikely they will sort the difference and come together to have a war like that, the rumor is that recently the death of Qassem Soleimani was ordered by the US because he was having talks with the Saudi king to have an alliance to fight against the restrictions they are facing economically.

Yes exactly I know. I learn a lot about religions and about the people and their sub-groups. What I have learnt is that we will get a war that will be the end of the world will be the last war but it is not going to happen now as you stated that muslims are not unite they have shia's and sunnis fighting among themselves then how they are going to fight against some non-believers but I know that when the war is going to happen the will all gather in no time. The last war is much more complex and complicated.

Lets put that aside and assume that IRAN and USA will go on war then what will happen the allies of USA will get on his side and IRAN will ask help for war from his allies making a global war. I hope they must come to table and talk about the issues they have but this is not going to happen.
Once things went off, both were not looking for a war and they backed off, US had some casualties but they played down the situation as everything is fine and if they really wanted to go for a war they would have done that but the consequences will be really high as the possibility of China and Russia siding with Iran and then the allies might even turn on the US in the midst might have reverted the situation.

Nothing is going to happen. They will keep doing this for more time and USA will not get anything from it instead bringing war for all...

Future? There will be no future after world war 3 everything will be destroyed and this time if WW3 happens the world will be destroyed in seconds do not you think?
War is money for some and the common people will get affected if there is a war and hopefully we will not go to those extremes as majority of the countries are spending billions to showcase their military strength and if those kind of money is used for other noble causes the world would have been a better place but the reality is different  Undecided.

Yes, Instead of spending that much budget on defence and security if they start working on humanity and making everyone/giving equal rights to everyone we would not need a war but I believe there are people who do not care about these things they need power and power comes with money now and they have many weird faiths..

God help us....

10  Economy / Services / Re: Where I can exchange crypto? on: August 16, 2019, 05:33:11 PM
Well for altcoins the best option is to use for me is binance and for bitcoins localbitcoins. You can check both websites.
I am not asking you to go and trade on them not forcing you can yourself first check on internet and can do exchanges there but they are suitable for me and fast enough.
