Bytecoin has a 82% premine by a couple individuals.
Even a poll-parrot spits a way more different phrases than you. But thats exactly the reason why unfortunately Bytecoin fails. Nothing more. Maybe the lack of communication from devs too. But thats all someone needs to know in order not to invest in Bytecoin... when the community does support the fork, that is a stronger vote of "no confidence" in the original developer.
According to your words, Bytecoin is one of powerfull fork here, on the altcoin subforum. In case you havent notice Bytecoin has almost 0 community. Half of the posters about bytecoin are paid accounts. And most comments on bytecoin thread are from people that support Monero including me. Volume is close to 0. Hell even duckcoin has bigger volume... Are you sure? I thought that this is the best proof of our community. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=667954.0Even I have sended a contribution. Is your post even serious? 15m Bytecoins is like nothing compared with 150b coins mined with 0 effort. Devs hold many many billions. And thats like 9 bitcoins if it doesnt lower the price with such small volume.

whats the view on anon coins and the proposed NY regulations? If they get applied there, it won't be long before other states copy them and apply them.
there is a section, s200, on those that issue, administer and control coins needing to register for licences.
Monero is not aiming to be in compliance with the regulations I suppose edit: however, this could mean that the devs (if their identities will be known) could possibly not be allowed to enter the US. Don't know if this also would apply to David, the spokesman... Is a negative response towards anonymous currencies from governments and law enforcement a threat to Monero? How will Monero respond to criticism of anonymity? David – First by not being anonymous if you don’t want to. Monero is private by default, optionally transparent (just like cash!) – the details of individual transactions, or even of an entire wallet, can be revealed publicly or privately. Plus, the developpers are publicly accessible. You can Google my name and the French and South Africa governments could knock at our door if they need someone to talk to. We play fair with everyone, governments included. source: http://www.coinssource.com/monero-interview/

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (MRO) Speculation thread

I believe that the biggest hurdle is to pass the psychological limit of 0.01 since we couldnt break it before and people will be afraid. If we break it monero can bubble easily even to 0.02 and then drop.
But can we even reach that limit? For sure we need more people to know about XMR. If that happens really fast then sure. But most people in altcoins speculate on p&d coins that can daytrade and gain big returns in a few days. We have to bring more serious investors.
