121  Economy / Securities / Re: HavelockInvestments.com DOWN on: February 26, 2014, 12:21:43 PM
They're probably all asleep still.
That is poor management then, site should be monitored 24hr/day, they should get service like serviceuptime.

I've never heard of this site before this thread, but, paying employees to be on-call 24/7 isn't cheap, even if they're not required 99.99% of the time.

Not sure how large this company is, and, if they can afford that, but, I personally understand. Give them twenty four hours, I'd say.

browsing securities section since few months but not heard of havelock  Shocked

Does anyone know if Havelock supplies Cryptx with complete shareholder lists periodically?

yes, csv of all shareholder is supplied often.

I'm a bit confused on something. Is BoottleXCP the GUI that y'all have been working on, or is there an actual GUI being developed (without having to run counterpartyd in the background).

BootleXCP is third party GUI, developed by JahPowerBit with a skin by TheMightyX. FlatFly has packaged some windows builds. You can find info relating to the progress here:

https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,74.msg892/topicseen.html#msg892

And here is some info about the roadmap of this project. Currently you need to run counterpartyd in the background but a bright future ahead (it will help if dev's are incentivized by community donations for their work)

Quote
Phase 2

The purpose of this phase is to no longer be required to download all the blockchain to use the wallet. And to add the ability to use BoottleXCP as online private BIP32 wallet.
At the end of this phase BootleXCP can be used in four different modes:

Desktop Heavy: with bitcoind and locally blocks following
Desktop Light: without bitcoind and without following blocks
Server Heavy: BIP32 wallet installed in a private server, without any private key stored on the server
Server Light: same as Server Heavy but without bitcoind and without following blocks

Source: https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,134.msg902/topicseen.html#msg902

CounterWallet is the 'official' web-based GUI that will not require local installation and blockchain download. You can track the progress here: https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,79.0.html

I'm not really a fan of marketing and PR trumping fundamentals of protocol which speaks for itself but I think with the recent Gox debacle the market is ripe for 'decentralised solutions for centralised problems' and a push towards DEXs such as counterparty.

Many people are unfamiliar of the term, unaware that such a thing even exists. I know we are not in a state where joe public can use yet, but to plant the seeds, I think now is a great time. I'll try to do my bit to introduce the concept.
125  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: February 25, 2014, 02:04:13 AM
If hash rate continues to increase at the same rate, then at the end of August the network will be nearing 500,000 TH/sec.

we can use same logic to reach 500,000,000 TH/sec in December  Huh - no

Remember each share is worth 8.68 GH/s, but 35% is reinvested in new chips, so each share will actually provide 5.642 GH/s.

we have 35% less hashrate per share? *because* 35% goes towards buying more hardware, which in turns increases the GH/share?? yet somehow end up with 35% less..really? - again - no

a 'break-even' point measured in weeks is not something that will turn any one off, we are talking about an investment, autopilot hosted mining operation and the most attractive on the market

I certainly will not be wishing any luck to shareholders buying, I will be wishing to try and understand a seller at this moment because any quick gains they are making are short-signed compared to long term potential of the operation.

here is more realistic return per share, per year. This is in line with CryptX own goals.

Code:
(1314000 * 0.018) / 100,000 * 1

where 1 = number of shares you have

obviously it is very, very simple calculation and can be +- some amount, but it is an achievable one nonetheless.

126  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New price $6K for Jingtian 28nm 1T miner on: February 24, 2014, 07:28:05 PM
I will sell same product for $300 discount, if anybody is interested.

I am not sure what can be disclosed. So I will wait for skyfromwell to update the information. BTW, our miners are NOT sold on ebay now.  You CANNOT have the same miner as ours since it is never sold before. Someone just copycatted our old design with defects and built a few sample miners. So be cautious.

people won't care for stories, about 'be cautious'. or who copy what. only thing is hardware in front of them working nicely, if cheaper they will buy from cheaper source who can deliver quickly

and the cheaper source is not ebay of course, i had kept eye on it before I hear of other reseller and your start this announcement days later

If it's not one thing, it's another lol. Should honestly do direct shares, but that will just cause more of a hassle IMHO.

seems many exchange hacked recently, could be even worse in future.. time for decentralised exchange?

129  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can we withdraw dollar from mtgox? on: February 24, 2014, 08:29:10 AM
I am thinking of taking advantage of their low price.

However, I wonder if putting dollars there is a good idea in the first place. If people can withdraw their dollar from mtgox then dollar balance there is not underpriced.

If people can't then I shouldn't put dollar.

what
130  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: February 24, 2014, 08:28:24 AM
The mining started before mid of Feb. But till now we see not even a dime sent to our address.

I personally am more than happy to wait till this Friday before 1st Dividend payment. where is the sense in receiving dust?
Remember that based on dividend a 'yield' will be calculated next to havelock, small % will look unattractive. not that this matters to any long term investors, and also not that it changes anything, just a psychological thing.

131  Other / Archival / Re: Counterparty (XCP) Buy/Sell Thread with Google Doc on: February 24, 2014, 08:21:36 AM
WTB in bulk
Escrow not a problem.
PM offers
(ps: do not suggest higher prices than exchange, to sell volume quickly on exchange you will have to split and take your time to fill, or accept lower prices on market order & it is still a buyers market)
132  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: February 24, 2014, 03:13:06 AM
Did we ever find out if our Cryptx is behind the new cryptx.io exchange?

no, they are not related
133  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: February 23, 2014, 02:55:20 PM
Hate to be a downer here, I love the new share price and everything, but the announcement doesn't actually mean much. Looking at the deployment schedule it seems like it's going to be a long time before each share actually has 8.68 gh/s per share. And at some point with reinvestment it would have anyway. I love the fact that cryptx has obviously put in a huge effort to make that happen sooner, but it seems a little misleading to announce that as each share's worth, as it will be a while before  each share is worth that.

Where is your head!! Really not so long at all ~50TH now.  planned schedule is -- . ~60 TH next week, 110TH roughly the week after, 110TH the week after, 110TH the week after, then beginning not only deployment of additional 250 TH custom hardware but re-investment as well. If CryptX can pull it off it will be great, unprecedented for a public mining operation. aiming to keep up consistent % of global hashrate blows other offerings out of the water, frankly I am surprised share-price is not yet double or triple.
134  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: February 23, 2014, 05:32:32 AM
I might be slightly drunk but seriously, what the fuck are you guys doing complaining? This is the best value of any mining project by a mile, fullstop. If anyone has any problems seriously sell your shares and fuck off. I cba reading this paranoid troll shit anymore

That's what happens when someone gets bull trapped.  He is trying to convince people to sell to him cheaper as if the good news never happened.

Did you even read my post? Are you brand new to the term bull trap and just excited to throw it out?

I have ample funds in this project that tbh I dont really give a fuck about. I just cant for the life of me see why people are already complaining. CryptX just trippled everyone's expectations and there's already a team of ultra skeptical timewasters speading fud. Seriously get the fuck out. This isn't for you. Buy and hold btc, your never going to nake money otherwise

The one who is complaining the loudest, is the one who rushed to nervously exit last week, driving prices down with big sells and came here to make an announcement about share-holders whinging too much and some nonsense about namecoin merged mining.

naturally there is some regret for him to see the latest developments, and so he shows up on 180 turn to try his hand at some whinging too - I think you can take words with a heavy grain of salt. The arguments don't have merit, the shareprice now is undervalued by all metrics  Smiley

I must say I was also skeptical. I'm sorry for doubting CryptX.. forgive me master

@Cityglut. In the event the hacker turns blackhat and peaces out.. what does the future hold ?  Shouldn't we resume the show ?

 Cry Cry

?? ~60 seconds passed since you ask question. relax
 please....

Thanks for the suggestion, hold on to those, might be worth something one day.

Do you know they are worth right now? Any update?
Weird. It's a full 70 seconds later, thought there would be some re-assurance by now and show could go on.
God this is such a mess -____- no update still guys?

SO what's XCP worth now? The burn price ?

XCP is worth what you believe if you are a holder.
If you want to sell, it is worth what someone else believes
invisible hand of market comes to some common ground between the two
If there are some who have no clue of value per XCP, perhaps investing in it was not the correct decision

Looks like a critical bug caused some smart cookie to make off with 80 BTC.

Is the bug fixed now?

EDIT: Checked blockscan and saw this in bids
3594   554585.00008063 XCP    0.09999910 BTC/XCP   55458.00088156 BTC

Surely this can't be right or I am reading this wrong.

The bug has been fixed. This is just troll order.

for now only hearsay. I really hope is not true

will/might/should...

take a deep breath guys and stop jumping to binary conclusions, seriously

When you sign a contract on the dotted line, the beauty is you have submitted yourself to a binary outcome should you fail to honor it.
140  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: February 20, 2014, 09:35:12 AM
Contract clearly was made for devices to be delivered in December. A significant premium was paid for this. It was not delivered. January, and then mid February came before any news of shipments. End users had notified that they had received orders placed In January (At a greatly discounted rate) prior to CryptX operation starting with Cointerra. Again, such a thing is clear breach of contractual obligation by Cointerra.

Everyone who received a late "Batch One" machine will get another box (expected to be fully specced) free of charge, says the company.

I had contacted the company to confirm this statement, as I have also ordered a batch one machine outside of this operation. I have confirmed every client (regardless of order size) who placed a DEC batch order will be receiving replacement hardware amounting to additional 100% of the original order within the period of March as compensation, and this is as directly advised by their legal partners.

As shareholders it does not appear that we will be getting that extra 100% applied toward our mining farm. Plus there is the double whammy of missing a 20% increase because a small fraction of mining began one day before mid-Feb. Sad

Absolutely we will. Could you suggest a reason why we would not?
Otherwise, as shareholders we will have been defrauded on a huge scale. This is not a joking matter or something to treat lightly.

For sure there is grounds for legal proceedings should it not be honored. As above, contract stipulates an order placed for December. This was falsely represented. A significant savings could of been made by ordering a Jan or February batch instead. Supplier is well aware of this hence the proceedings to compensate with additional hashrate

PS: you forgot the triple-whammy of ~25% underperforming hardware currently. This will add up to ~$200,000 of lost revenue on a yearly basis on Cointerra shipment alone. (Factoring in a 20% perpetual difficulty increase) Cointerra is directly liable for shipping the full amount of TerraHash-per-second stated in the contract. They also must ship either: Firmware increase amounting to 25% unaccounted orders, replacement hardware, monetary compensation in the form of vouchers, or denominated in BTC or USD.
