1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Free electricity on: December 06, 2021, 10:57:27 PM
Its not technically free for me, but I own a small business next to my full time job and we split utilities down the middle. Well, I use a laptop and 3 lights and my bill is around $600 USD every month; so I put my mining rig at my shop. If Im paying half of what their heavy, 3 phase, bindery equipment generates, they can pay half of my $50 rig  Cheesy

I do something similar.  My rigs are running in a business of mine, which has cheaper power than my house ($0.08) plus I don't have to deal with the heat and the noise and the business just absorbs the cost, at least for now.  So I don't personally pay for it and its an extra tax write off for the business.  Its a few hundred dollars a month now but if I expand it, I will end up covering part of it.

Looks like a number of pools in China are having problems.

That makes me feel better, knowing its not just Viabtc,

Did ViaBTC ever start working again?  I moved my miners to F2Pool after they were down for 2 days.

They work fine and were never fully down.

Mine were.  They did zero mining for almost 3 days until I switched pools.

I've been mining with my GPU for awhile now.
Payout with daggerhashimoto is normally .03 Mbtc/day
it has a hashrate of 19 MHS

Today my new asic d3 arrived.
I got it mining at 4000 MHS
yet the profitability maxed out at .012 MBTC/day
This thing would cost me $3 a day.

What should my next move be?

Sell it to someone else is what I would do.  Those things have not been profitable for awhile.  No point burning money.

3425 watt for a new ASIC miner? What are bitmain doing? They should start working on less consumption technology for their ASIC miners, this is 2021 for crying out loud, this is one reason why I don't do ASICS, there is no way near anything called energy efficiency

Look

19x l3+ do 9500 mh and pull 19 x 800 = 15200 watts

 1 x l7   does 9500 mh and pulls 3450 watts

seems to me to be an improvement of 4.4x   as 4.4 x  3450 = 15180 watts

I ordered one.

And to anyone I am selling my 800 watt l3's  In hand ready to ship as soon as this Monday.

Nice.  I am tempted to order one, even though I have never spent that sort of money on a miner.

I still watch for deals on L3's but with the current earnings and these L7's coming in a few months, I made a pact with myself not to spend any more than $750 on them.  Have missed out on a few for less than that, so still just have the 3 so far.

What firmware mods do you guys recommend for Antminer L3+?

Other than stock, have only used HiveOS so far but I like it.  Way more customizable than stock.  If you are not into manually dialing it in, it has a auto tune option that works well.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Thinking to buy some 2nd hand Antminer L3+ on: June 11, 2021, 03:09:06 AM
I just got my 3rd one.  Problem is finding them at a decent price now.  I bought 2 of them for $1200 total about 6 weeks ago when they were making $15/day each, which I know was a steal.  I paid more for the 3rd one I just got than I did the first 2 total, which in hindsight I wish I hadn't but had the itch to get another and was tired of scouring every site looking for a deal.

Like phil, I love these things though.  Just updated firmware on all 3 today and went from 540mh@915W to 560mh@800W.  Since they are using less power, was also cooler, so was able to drop fans down even more and cut back on the noise too.  Parts of me was hoping the earnings would drop even lower for a bit so I could pick up a few more at a discount.

Hello folks, i'm looking for server PSUs, breakout boards, and cables that can be used with ASIC miners. Any preferred/reliable sources in the US?

Throwing back a ways, I bought a couple of Corsair 1080Ti Hydro GFX from Phil. They were running great when I powered them off as the market turned bearish. Well fast forward to a few months ago and my wife(!!!) was intrigued with crypto after reading an article in the newspaper about coins and mining. She asked if we could get a miner going. I pulled the 1080Tis out of storage and cranked them up, and they have been mining happily since. They are giving me ~48-49 MH/s each on ethash.

I have bought several of the HP 1200 ones off Ebay last couple of months.  Can generally get them for $40-50/each without too much trouble.  Breakout boards with cables also for around $25.  Been using with the L3+'s I have and also on my GPU mining rigs that are using the Rebtech mining board.

By the way phil, got me another L3+ over the weekend.  Not as good a deal as the last two but could not hold out any longer.  So have 3 now.  I may catch you some day.

Also interested if can ship to US.

Has your price moved at all? Or is it higher now? \

I would be interested if it weren't so high.
Based on your responses it may be better for you to go to eBay.

Even Ebay prices have dropped quite a bit this week.  Seen several go for $1500 range or less.  So after fees, more like $1300 to the seller.

I bought 2 like new ones for $600/each 3 weeks ago but I know that was a steal, especially at the time.

Those #'s are LTC only.  L3+ income has dropped about 50% this week but still making close to $9/day before power cost.  With that said, current asking price is more that I would consider also.  I have a couple of them already and looking for more but 1k range is where I would be comfortable at right now.

i have already commented on the earnings and i will not comment on it any further apart from this: whilst you are on a better track then most of the 'experienced' members here, you still have not unlocked the true value of your miners Smiley
maybe i should start a service to get users to get more income from their miners Smiley

Hey, if you have a secret recipe to dramatically increase earnings, it would be worth $$ to me.  I am curious though, if you are doing so well with them, why are you selling out?

Still no shuffle for me either.  I did score a 3070 system from Best Buy that I get next week.  Will pull GPU and add to my rig, which will put it at 6 cards.  Just need 2 more to fill it out.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: May 12, 2021, 03:10:38 AM
Found another great deal locally on a couple of A3+ along with three A3's and couple of older ASICs for basically what one A3+ is currently bringing and guy sold them right before I contacted him.  I wanted to cry a bit.  Did just pick up two Aisen A1 BTC miners for cheap, should be able to flip and double up on them.  They make about $5/day but don't really want those power hungry things.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine with on: May 08, 2021, 03:14:24 AM
Most likely Ravencoin with only 4GB.  Best thing to do if you want simple, just go to nicehash.com and download their miner software.  It will mine what is best for your card and auto convert it to BTC.

I appreciate all the help.  They are at my phone store currently, so will not have time to really experiment with them this weekend but happy so far.  At $36/day, I would ROI in just over a month including the PSU.  Can definitely live with that.  Now if I can score a few more, I will be even happier.  Should of bought more to start with, guy sold like 20 of them at 500-600/each.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: May 07, 2021, 07:14:14 PM
I can set both.  At default, fans are around 3500rpm and temp 45-50 degrees.  At 75%, they go to 4500rpm and sound like a jet turbine.

depends what fans are in there.

It can run at 65-75 temps.

So clock to freq 400,406,412

and clock to 30% fan speed.

If you can get fans down to 2900-3100 with temps at 70 it will simply run and run and run and run

Good ones can do 424 freq clock with 3200 fan speed

shit ones 384 or 390 freq clock with 3200 fan speed

I do not worry about noise so I try fans to do 3500

If you are lucky you may get them to do 2900 at 400 freq

there is other firmware but you have good gear at a good price.

I would try a 400 freq
and fans around 3000 rpm

Was just coming to post I kept going down, now have at 30% and they are at 3100rpm.  Temps are still in low 50s.  Running at 540mh.

Got those 2 L3+ in this morning and they actually were legit.  Look brand new.  Already tested out and work great.  Guy has more but now he has realized he was selling too cheap and price is a lot higher.  Got out at a nice deal on these at least.  Adding in the PSU/Cables/Breakout board, only have $675 in each of them.  Take that all day if #'s stay anywhere near where they are right now.

Now to figure out where I am going to put these loud things.  Any tips on them phil as far tweaking firmware, etc?  Or you just run stock?
