I thought randomx algo is asic resistant.looks like nothing resistant to asics.
X5 is not an ASIC, it's a bunch of RISC-V CPUs (SG2042, you can google it) packed together, and they even use DDR4 SODIMM memory sticks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkWGbkJjXa8

Do you consider the AMD CPU Ryzen 7 5800X3D hashrate of 17.75 kH/s as listed on nicehash.com to be fake? I don't have a chance to check because I think CPU mining is pointless at the moment. And one processor needs a lot of hardware.
It is 100% fake. Bigger cache doesn't give it any advantage in RandomX because 5800X already has enough cache (2 MB per thread), so both will run at 10-11 kh/s with tuned memory.

This is the official xmrig benchmark site, all tests there are done online and validated on the server. What you see in the table at the top is an overclocked and highly tuned CPU (i.e. consider it competitive benchmarking), probably water cooled and with tweaked memory. 18-19 kh/s for 5950X is actually low, it can easily do 20-21 kh/s with just a bit of tuning.

That's an impossible bullshit number. You can find real numbers for each CPU on xmrig.com/benchmark 5800X3D can do a bit above 10 kh/s, same as the regular 5800X.

Ever since 8/13 I have not been able to mine XMR on Mining Pool Hub. Not sure what changed but I'm missing something. Please assist.
Monero forked on 8/13. Miningpoolhub didn't update their Monero nodes, you have to switch to another pool (preferably not to the top 2 largest pools): https://miningpoolstats.stream/monero

Probably this was answered in a way or another, hence I start with apologizing for being somewhat lazy and didn't research deeply and just came asking. Is Monero and the official wallet working good with Ledger Nano hardware wallets? Is the setup mature enough? I would like to finally move my few moneroj from paper wallet to hardware wallet (basically to have one HD seed for both BTC and XMR), but I want to be sure the underlying parts are mature enough.
Maybe somebody having his moneroj already on HW can help with this? Thank you.
I would wait until after the July 16th hardfork and see if they updated their software, because Ledger is slacking right now: https://libera.monerologs.net/monero-dev/20220607both previous employees that were responsible for monero either quit or moved to a different position

A crash perhaps, but not the end of GPU mining. With a faster randomx implementation soon to be released, gpu miners can move to secure the Monero network instead. At a price of $192 monero generates around $36.34 Million annually to the miners. But the price is likely to rise..
Looking forward for the faster randomx implementation!

because the people buying monero do not even understand what they have. Any solution for this? How to reach these people and educate them? Where do they come from? Twitter, Tiktok, random crypto discords?

Writing here to confirm that I received the bounty

I've created a new wallet to receive the bounty:

Thank you! Is 12 XMR okay? Yes, 12 XMR is ok.

It's most likely a display bug. The second half of Monero address is a public view key, so the bug must be somewhere there. I'll look into it. Edit: it seems that https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html gives a wrong address. monero-wallet-cli generated 46SPEAKZWk9PtTM2Ziitmh5msxYDowPbNPKxid2wwUVBgghMzxPJMTBTZr8S6ngick7tmNUapWRsSd8 ouAJdsPKU17gHfr9 for this spend key which is what my generator printed out.

Because Bitcoin is optimizing for SECURITY and not cheapness of fees, then we WILL see fees rise. Naturally. And we WILL see everyone in BTC migrating to Lightning or even to other coins like Monero Who would pay $100 fees?
|
|
|
A VAST majority of coins are being hoarded and hodl'd despite the utility and cash like fungibility provided by XMR.
I can only partially agree on that point. Some coins are in long-term hold for sure, but the reality is that Monero is being used much more than BTC. Daily Monero transaction count is currently 8-10% of Bitcoin's despite being only 1/200 of BTC market cap. XMR almost overtook BTC on CoinCards: https://nitter.net/CoinCards/status/1508324025256202246

I have 7 ryzen CPU that I use for raptoreum mining and it was so profitable when raptoreum coin was at its ATH but now its not even worth mining, is it time to shut down my rig? .
Switch to Monero mining.

Where I'm from, Ryzen 3000 are hard to find and more expensive and Ryzen 5000 are cheaper and in stock everywhere.

The problem with Monero is that it's not a CPU-only coin. There are many GPUs on the network, which makes it almost impossible to mine XMR with average CPUs. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Top RTX 3090 can do only 2 kh/s on Monero while Ryzen 5 3600 can do 7.5 kh/s.
