2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN THE LAST COIN HAS BEEN MINED. on: October 30, 2019, 09:56:27 AM
The reward is always halved every once in a while so theoretically it would take forever to mine every single coin in existence but because of technical limitations, there might be a limit to how many digits the lowest denomination can have. In that case, the last coin will be mined and the full supply of coins will be in circulation. However, that's not the only way miners make money. They also get miner fees, and as the reward goes down, they go up. So nothing will change much in the end, maybe the coin prices will go up, just like how it usually is with every halving.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Marijuana should be legalized.? on: October 30, 2019, 09:46:02 AM
It's also prohibited in my country as well, just like any other addicting substances. However alcohol, cigarettes and such isn't prohibited, even though they also cause addiction and many health issues. I guess it's harder to shut down something more established. I think medicinal use should be legal, as it helps with tremors and anxiety on some people. Maybe warn people about potential issues and addiction it might cause, tell them not to drive under influence (don't know how much it affects), and it will both help some dangerous kinds of marijuana and synthetic variants to disappear and potentially lower the prices in a few years. As I said, it's prohibited here and I haven't had a chance to try but having some overseas friends and having heard their experiences with weed, I think it could be regulated instead of full prohibition.

Nice! But Scratch? Really? Maybe it's a good choice for beginners but I have a grudge against it. I could never get used to it and they didn't have an undo function until recently IIRC. Blocks really make things easier but you can't move sprites out of the scene and that kinda sucks. No offense to you, it's all against Scratch I haven't checked it out but I'm sure it's a great course. Hope you'll release further courses. Have a good one!
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you done to promote the Blockchain technology & cryptocurrencies? on: October 30, 2019, 08:37:57 AM
I tell my physically distant employers to pay me in cryptocurrencies, introducing them in the process. They usually end up using it even after our contract is over. For me, it's how fast funds transfer over from the other side of the world. Though most don't accept it, because apparently it's hard to show their payments and get their taxes deducted. If only governments acknowledged crypto properly.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do me a favor, tell me really clearly and slowly what exactly a blockchain is? on: October 30, 2019, 08:30:22 AM
Put really simply, a blockchain is a chain of blocks (duh) where each block consists of several transactions. Each block is connected to the block before it and thus they form a chain. When you calculate all the transaction over all the blocks in a blockchain, you get the balance in each address. You can't change a block in between and re-insert it to the chain because each block is connected to the previous block. And you can't just add funds to yourself because the system is decentralized, which means everyone who has a node has a say over what next block will be, and the longest blockchain is usually the approved one. So trying to trick the system won't work unless you have the ownership of over the half the nodes. There are all kinds of methods on how to confirm if a block or a blockchain is valid, such as proof of work and proof of stake (simply put, calculating/guessing the number that decrypts the block), and changing the difficulty of this confirmation process sets the time required to decrypt/mine a block. Too low and the system becomes less secure, too much and the system stops working.

There are tons of videos on Youtube and other platforms that you can watch. I believe others have already linked a few.

Good luck and hope you don't get fired. Don't cheat next time Smiley

I'm kinda interested in running a node. What are the minimal system requirements to run a primary one? Is there an estimate?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Possible To Mine Bitcoin with Supercomputer? on: October 28, 2019, 05:12:31 PM
You can mine cryptocurrency using a pen and paper if you want, it just won't be as efficient. A supercomputer can easily do the computations required for proof of work and such.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🎰[ANN] Wunbit Crypto Gaming Arcade 🕹️ Spend & Earn WUN while playing games 🚀 on: October 28, 2019, 04:05:37 PM
Do you think this system can be integrated into pre-existing games made with various engines? Unity, Unreal, etc.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much money is enough to live happily after crypto? on: October 28, 2019, 03:09:15 PM
I mean, it depends on what kind of life you want to have. Do you want to live in a luxurious villa? Or do you think you could do well in an apartment? Do you want to eat some gourmet food made by your very own chef? Or are you planning to cook yourself and maybe sometimes eat outside? In any case you probably want to have some extra stack of cash somewhere because anything can happen in live. And don't let people know that you've hoarded that much money or people will come after you asking for money.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Money can't buy happiness ... on: October 28, 2019, 02:43:14 PM
Money may not buy happiness but it can definitely change the odds in your favor. I'm trying to live off of less then a hundred bucks in my bank account and I'm barely hanging on by doing short and small freelance jobs. I'm sure I would be at least 100 times happier if I had more money.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost 1.4 bitcoin in a wallet so startign again on: October 28, 2019, 11:05:23 AM
At least now you have experience. You should learn from your mistakes and always keep your keys in multiple safe ways. You can always lose one or another.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you waste your time for 5 cents worth of bitcoin? on: October 28, 2019, 06:49:53 AM
5 cents a day would make about $18 a year. I mean, it's free crypto but ehh... You can make that amount in an hour by doing some proper jobs. I would probably forget about it after a week or two even if I started.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Stress and Happiness on: October 26, 2019, 04:37:26 PM
I stopped day trading because it was affecting me and my depression negatively. I had to sell everything because of cancer treatment. I don't have a job right now. I hope I can get back into the game ASAP, especially since it's been showing an upwards trend recently.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How i keep my private keys safe without hardware wallet on: October 26, 2019, 02:33:33 PM
The cheapest way is to keep your keys on paper. Just write them down and keep them somewhere safe. Extra funds required: $0 (Since you probably have a pen and paper lying around somewhere) Just make sure you don't keep it somewhere it could get damaged or stolen easily. For example your physical wallet would be a poor option. You can keep it in a small safe box if you want. Also consider encrypting your keys so you don't lose it all even if it gets stolen.

Personally the keys I keep on my PC have lower amounts of balance but I use cold storage for my HODLing coins. And I have several copies in case it gets damaged or lost.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2019, 01:50:45 PM
I'd recommend against it. Aside from the volatility of Bitcoin itself, you don't know what life has to offer around the next corner. Taking out a loan for a high-risk investment could pay off in the future but in a state of emergency, you might wish you hadn't done that. It might affect your credit score and you'll be in trouble for a while.
