3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful about some messages to your DM on: April 09, 2024, 03:44:02 PM

I'm sure if you use and make some changes to beginner DMs, you won't receive messages from beginners anymore, I'm sure this feature is useful for you and anyone who is annoyed by unknown messages.
I thought about this mate but I think the rank of the fellow is full member and I don't think they are in the bracket of new beginners for restrictions. Also I think this person may also be knowledgeable in terms of crypto-currency so as to perfect their cooked up scams. One law I always go by is never click a suspicious link, this is my first rule.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Be careful about some messages to your DM on: April 08, 2024, 09:15:04 AM
I believe some members are already knowledgeable about such but also I still believe that some aren't. The forum is a big place and any big platform that discusses crypto-currency is always a target for scammers.

The forum has done so much to frustrate those fraudsters and I think it should be commended although this scammers are dogged with their actions. They do send messages to your DM with all sort of crazy format.

I have gotten some recently and I would be posting although I have edited the link so it won't be clickable.

Greetings mate
Judging by your merits and answers on the forum, you are an experienced user of cryptocurrencies
The fact is that a few months ago i was hired as a cryptocurrency consultant and journalist at a well-known cryptopotato
At the moment i am writing articles on the topic "Development of cryptocurrency in the current world order"
I can only get true and comprehensive knowledge from the members of this forum
This is not spam, scam or a prank
I collect statistics for some articles
If the article will be popular,i will share part of my profit with you
To be honest,i'm afraid to create a topic, because now, under the new rules, the merits of the account can be removed Cheesy
I'd be glad to talk to you

-Regards

I haven't checked the authenticity of this message but it already spells scam. I won't even want to find out if I am wrong or right on that.

Be careful about such newbies, they come with all these enticing stories all to draw you in and then telling you how it's not a scam. In your best interest it best not to find out so don't even click the link. I would find better ways to protect my DM from such in the future.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: March 28, 2024, 08:44:04 PM
Halving can start and the price of Bitcoin could go low and after a while go parabolic. Anything can happen in the market don't only think in one direction also try to recognise other possible outcome. Bitcoin halving is highly talked about and also write ups like this can easily cause FOMO and panic buy and it the outcome does not aligne with what you have just written then you would get the backlash.

The halving would come and go, yes we may have a bull run but let us try to be realistic with our imaginations, it would be hard for the price of Bitcoin to reach such figures in as much as I believe we would have good time in the bull run let us still tred cautiously.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about your experience in taking part in the same bet with friends? on: March 28, 2024, 07:32:35 PM
One thing I don't do is playing bet against my friends and I would advice everyone not to engage in such, it's a silly thing to do by engaging in it, it can shatter your relationship relationship with your friends and if it doesn't then you would be sentimental about the bet.

Although I engaging in playing same bet as my friends, I have a friend who is great in sport betting and I do get games from him which I stake on

While still deliberating on the issue i told them that i have already invested in bitcoin and some other Altcoins, i also made it very clearer to them that cryptocurrency is the only way out for financial freedom considering the lingering economic crisis
Firstly you and your friends are wrong, crypto-currency is not the only way for anyone who wants financial freedom. There are lots of ways to become financially free but first you have to be able to sell something, your services, skill, goes, knowledge what ever it is all you have to do is find who needs them and make money from that. Although crypto-currency can help financially but not the only way.

He came up with this question 'why is the identity of the bitcoin founder (Satoshi Nakamoto) remained unknown'?,  i will be very glad if any of the high ranked members can provide us with the answer so we can add it to our knowledge too. thanks.
This is a good question, you need to understand that the creator or creators of Bitcoin (the entity of Bitcoin is still unknown) is/are people/person that values anonymity, Bitcoin was built to support anonymity that's why many users also love that feature of Bitcoin. So it's not rock science to understand why the identity is still unknown. Besides the antagonistic nature of government and other institutions against Bitcoin can further make the identity of the creator of Bitcoin unknown.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Crypto investor beginners are acting professional impacting wrong knowledge on: March 28, 2024, 01:53:14 PM
I just discovered that lot of  the beginners in this Crypto industry has been acting without hesitations to also introduced other people to the industry when they (beginners) are still understudies trying to gain the primary knowledge of the industry yet but they goes out there acting to be professionals insighting variable orientations to people around them that are willing to Invest in the Crypto markets.

You would see more of this as the Bitcoin halving draws even closer. It's just the fever/fear of not missing out. I personally have experienced so much talks about crypto-currency recently in my area than last year. Many even suggesting to me lots of opportunities in their own opinion. Many people are looking for a way to break out of poverty and they have this wrong mentality that Crypto-currency is the fastest way out of it.
I would say some of this attitude runs deep as to who brought them into crypto-currency, the ideology behind this and not telling them about the risk. I see some even talking about mining Altcoins from sources they can even verify their authenticity. We may have some cases of scam on the increase soon
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Off Economic phenomenon. on: March 27, 2024, 07:49:42 PM
I would believe we are from the same country because same situation you talked about are what my country face right now. The Naira which is the Local currency of my country was really fall compared to naira and was heading towards ₦2000 for $1 which is super crazy causing the price of goods and services to sky rocket leading to hardship in the country.
This situation is as a result of bad government with not strategy to handle the nation economy, to make matter worse the country decided to target Binance seeing it as the cause of the Naira Falling.

I think the situation is bad even if we are now seeing temporary progress in the value of Naira but not reflecting in the price of goods and services.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshi? hacker? who? on: March 27, 2024, 05:49:19 PM
These 50 BTCs came from genesis coins which were from 2010 that first mining rewards. This coins might be from OG miners who are also once or still active in this forum, or probably Satoshi himself but doubt its the latter. As there are many cases that those coins address from 2010 are moved out and also signed way back before.
And to what purpose does this serve. The reason why people use crypto-currency is to maintain their anonymity, I think we are not letting people be by going around checking addresses and trying to investigate the owners of the wallet because if the huge sum in it.
There are so many whales with high amount of Bitcoin in their wallet and all of them aren't Satoshi, we can admire the amount they have if you want to buy trying to be a detective when you aren't one is going too far
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEWBY MISTAKE. WETH SENT FROM COINBASE WALLET TO COINBASE on: March 27, 2024, 02:53:45 PM
I sent 1 WETH to coinbase from my Coinbase wallet...  I didn't realize that WETH needed to be unwrapped until after I sent it. They are saying that they do not support WETH and therefore it is lost until they possibly will support it in the future. Has anyone had any experience of getting their WETH back or do I have to wait..
Im a newby btw.
If you are a newbie do not carry out unguided transaction, it's a big red flag that can hunt you so bad. Also why deal in an altcoin or any other coin you still haven't gotten complete knowledge about it.

Also I don't deal with Altcoins that much but I am familiar with transaction and before you carry out a transaction you would be guided by the platform to confirm some certain details like network and so on with a warning that if it's wrong your coin would be lost. Always tried cautiously.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 26, 2024, 08:27:14 PM
This is the funniest thing I have heard, how can someone even win the lottery once with mathematical calculation. This can only happen if the lottery isn't a fair game.
In a case of fair lottery numbers are spined and then five or more numbers are selected at random.
The lottery is a game of luck and no mathematical permutations can help you win the lottery don't be deceived. Those who win lottery are are amongst the luckiest people on earth.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to Research a Token/Coin on: March 25, 2024, 07:21:59 PM
I would be frank with you I have not actively went out to research on tokens but I would not say that they are completely a scam. But if for some reason I was to research on token or projects to join I would first look at.
+ People's review on the token.
+ The team (especially their previous work)
+ How realistic is the white paper, usecase.
+ Which network does the token run on
+ How long is taking for the presale to end and it to launch.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a scam on: March 25, 2024, 06:18:05 PM
Let them think what they want to; if they think Bitcoin is a scam, it doesn't make any difference for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has already proven what's in it; those who want to call it a it a Bitcoin scam don't really know how a decentralised currency works. Bitcoin wasn't created to make us rich; it was a p2p decentralised cryptocurrency to make a solution for a borderless payment system without a third party. How would Bitcoin be scammed when it wasn't controlled by anyone? Due to a lack of proper knowledge, a few people think Bitcoin is a is a scam. We aren't concerned about it.
If Bitcoin were to be a scam how can it be so that Bitcoin has developed this much from 2009 till date. I think those who thinks Bitcoin is a scam has little or no idea about Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin is a scam how was the scam meant to go? The adopters of Bitcoin is on the rise even countries like El Salvador are benefiting greatly from Bitcoin.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 25, 2024, 05:32:04 PM
Great advice mate but not just bet, just don't do anything while your are tired or drunk. There are chances of you making mistakes or not thinking properly.
Although I don't need to be completely comfortable before I can make a bet while on the go or while standing. I believe if you have the luxury to think clearly without any emotional hindrance like stress then you are good to go.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs just marketing gimmicks with no added value? on: March 25, 2024, 04:32:55 PM
NFTs, meme coins, smart contracts, altcoins, etc. are nothing but scams.

These are the buzzwords that scammers use to lure people in and trick them out of their money. Bitcoin is the only one that is not a scam.
Many people enter the crypto market only to find this out the hard way after they lose their money.

If the government was doing their job ethereum and all the rest of the shitcoins would be shut down to prevent these scams from happening.
Of course that is why bitcoin exists because governments are totally clueless, incompetent and corrupt.

I don't think you are completely correct. Infact Bitcoin can also be used to lure vulnerable people into scamming them. Having the idea that every other thing is scam aside Bitcoin does not prove you are a Bitcoin enthusiast but rather it shows your ignorance about crypto-currency in general.

NFT, memecoin, altcoin aren't one entity, although I don't own any altcoin yet but I won't consider them all scams because there are coins and project in those sector that has proven themselves and stood the test of time.

I understand you don't want to have anything to do with them but calling all of them a scam is a wrong mentality.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: March 25, 2024, 01:48:35 PM
Canelo Alvarez keeps getting easy matches, this would be the thought of many but the truth is that he has managed to separate himself from the rest. He is now head an shoulders above is peer.
Jaime Munguia is not a poor boxers but he is in no comparison with Canelo Alvarez, some time I think most of this boxers Fighting Canelo Alvarez recently are doing it for the pay check and the match turns out to be very boring because they would not throw any exciting counter in the champ.

Hy everyone , I'm new to  this community and I'm excited to be here . I have been going through the Bitcoin talk discussion for some times now .I hope to learn from this forum to improve my knowledge and experience in Bitcoin and also contribute my  little ideas here too.
Welcome and congratulations in finding this forum but there is a mistake most newbies make and that's telling us why they are here, that's a personal topic and you can set that goal and achieve it.

Rather ask for rules and Regulations so as not to get things wrong in the forum also you can go ahead and ask any questions you have about any topic you are finding difficult, welcome again and first i advice you go through the rules and regulations and understand other frequently asked questions.
