New ATL at 2 sats! Congrats whoever got out!

I dunno man, I'm just taking your twitter feed at face value.

Why trade against wash trading bots and high frequency market manipulation when you can trade against actual people?

Trade with friends.

Trade on AltMarket.

Well whoever ran the bots seem to keep an eye on this thread anyway, since they seem to have been shut down pretty close to my previous post.

I'm sure that's nothing to worry about.

And anyway, I do think it's much healthier to have an exchange where absolutely nothing happens at all than one where there is constant fraud.

Edit: Lol I spoke too soon. Bots are back on the menu, baby!

Quick heads up: You forgot to clean out the extremely obvious bot activity. It would be _slightly_ more believable if it hadn't been going on since at least April in the trading history, while the exchange has been down for "an audit, a few days" since over half a year.

I'm sure that it's, as usual, all on the up-and-up though, and that any one of the three people liking Bryce's tweet will surely buy in so you can get out.

Jan 9, 20201 update:
Shifu, the governance/masternode voting app is coming along and will be available later this month. In the mean time, a couple of the community members have activated their master nodes via Remix instead of waiting for Shifu and we're now earning rewards.

I'm in the middle of helping one guy set his first one up, and looks like I'll be helping a couple of others in a day or two. There are always dead weights in any alt community that only seem to complain and drag everybody down. It's a relief when they're gone and forgotten. I enjoy helping out the people who want to chip in though.

Anyway, looking forward to altseason now that all the pieces are just about in place. Timing's good once we clear the "depression" stage of the altcoin market cycle. So much salt right now.  Wink

Dead weight like exchange.alt.market? 'Cause that seems to have noped out permanently. Guess the 'audit' didn't work out too well.

Oh, and I just did a small check back, because it's always so funny to see just how slow this project moves compared to what's claimed: Did you know that the voting dApp ("Shifu") was originally considered to be part of the "minimum viability" step, which was promised for April of last year? It's true! I would not be so quick to trust it coming out "later this month", despite what anyone says. Especially someone who's able to look at the absolute sea of broken promises and years of basically no activity and decry any sceptics as "dead weight".

Edit: Also, I saw that Bryce is keeping up his lie about "intentionally" capping the crowdsale at $100k, which, of course, is a blatant lie which anyone with a modicum of archive diving skills easily can find out. I guess he's hoping no one will actually check.

Gotta say I'm impressed with your """""""audit and maintenance""""""" procedures. They have to be hella thorough to stretch for over two weeks! I guess 16 is "a few" if you're used to the Weiner approach to promises and timetables though.

I'm sure it's fine though, and that there's no connection at all to the price hitting ATL on qtrade.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: September 20, 2020, 12:10:55 PM
Just thought you might want to know that the trading bots are back on altmarket, while actual humans are still in short supply.

Oh, and the post-swap price bump on qTrade is also gone.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: August 12, 2020, 02:38:55 PM
Thought I'd pop in again and see how it goes.

Not surprised to see there's still no progress on basically anything.

So this major switch that was supposed to happen during.. March, was it? Now has had a number of updates and delays, with the latest set date being Bryce saying that it was going to happen "this month" back in July, still nothing, right?

As usual, I'm sure there A Good Explanation why nothing ever happens and why the deadlines are Just Around The Corner still.

In a world built on empty promises and hot air, this is still an impressively stark void of a project.

(By the way, the much-touted FinCEN number doesn't match any MSB register data, and the Colorado Alt Market for which there is a FinCEN number is corporation that's voluntarily dissolved since March of last year...)

Can I ask what file you're looking at? I see in the Tao2 repository the COPYING file hasn't been updated.

Sure. That file still refers to the original source (ethereum, of which Tomo is a fork).

The file I'm referring to is the LICENSE file in the docs repository, which was changed to refer to Tao rather than Tomochain in this commit: https://github.com/taoblockchain/docs/commit/c56c2abe487301f9a461d1749cb1ba3c422afe35#diff-9879d6db96fd29134fc802214163b95a

Which is explicitly not allowed by the MIT license (basically it's the only thing not allowed).

It's also funny that Bryce is claiming copyright of the whole documentation repo going back all the way to 2018.

And it doesn't really matter if it's a "work in progress" or not. Distributing that stuff without including the copyright notice is copyright infringement, plain and simple.

And on the whole doing a search-and-replace without checking at the very least that you're not breaking copyright with it is pretty much the absolute lowest bar you should clear.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: April 20, 2020, 09:33:26 PM
It's a pretty strong assumption to make that price would be entirely unaffected by something like 20-25 % increase in supply.. Annually.

Oh the docs? The docs which are also still mostly unattributed verbatim copies of Tomo documentation?

You know what isn't allowed, according to the license of that?

Changing the copyright notice.

You can do basically whatever you like with it, as long as you leave the copyright notice intact.

Guess what Bryce didn't do?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: April 20, 2020, 10:23:38 AM
I'll just note that once again, as is tradition, nothing is your fault.

Not indefinite delays, not lack of PR, not lack of results, not failed deployments, not lack of documentation, not lack of attribution to previous work.

Nothing.

It's all a big conspiracy against y'all, right? Or things being "unexpectedly" difficult. Or "temperamental artists", or "shitty family", or "some guy" posting on fucking Bitcointalk.

I mean, I get that that's a much better feeling, but it won't get you much of anywhere, I'm afraid.

Also, your insults notwithstanding, it seems to me you're actually the only guy in the whole Tao "community" that's actually doing any sort of real work. You might want to use that energy and drive for something or some group that'll actually appreciate that.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: April 19, 2020, 09:30:04 PM
Wow, uh....

I'm not sure that you claiming to have been foiled by a single guy (or a small group or w/e) from untold riches (who, apparently, somehow has made all your mistakes for you) gives quite the impression you want to give.

Perhaps if there was some actual merit to the project rather than it being a lot of hot air, minimal fronts and PoCs (mostly bought or "borrowed" open source projects and stock images), and if it had been headed up by someone with actual experience, knowhow, trustworthiness, and skill (rather than Bryce)...

Perhaps.

Oh well.

he deleted his facebook, but the screens are on the discord chat

Huh. I didn't honestly think you'd go into doxxing and threatening people as a first step. Silly me, I guess.

Oh noes I copied another codebase and never tried to hide it.

What do you mean? You completely tried to hide it. You deleted any reference to TomoChain and replaced it with "Tao," without properly crediting TomoChain for cloning their codebase.

Is there a particular reason why Bryce didn't do a proper github fork of the codebase (Tomochain), instead just grabbing it without any kind of attribution?

If you weren't trying to hide it, why did you go about cloning TomoChain in such a non-standard manner?

In addition, this is plagiarism by any definition:

This would not fly in any other industry, so why do you think it is OK for crypto?

This behavior demonstrates a few things about you:

- you have a complete disrespect for the work done by others
- you are without original ideas of your own and must borrow ideas from others
- you are too lazy to generate your own materials.

I've been busting scams here for a number of years and projects that engage in this type of behavior are ALWAYS scams. They put in the minimum amount of effort into their work because they know there is no chance of long-term success for their project, because they know it is a SCAM. You're just trying to perform yet another fleecing and using this forum to do so. It will backfire on you spectacularly.

Finally, if you don't give a shit about Bitcointalk, and its never hurt you or helped you ever, then what are you doing here? If this was actually the case, just fuck off then, dummy.
If you were able to discern the source then I wasn't trying to hide anything, was I?
As you well know, having done so on other occasions, you can do a "fork" on Github, which links it back to the repo you've forked from.

You didn't do that. I'll leave it to others to determine if you've been straight with them in other forums about Tao2 being a fork of Tomochain.

If you don't think that a six year career and Tao being four years old and still trading above ICO price is "no chance for long term success" I got nothing for you.
Tao was at an all-time low price the other day (75 sats).

Any advantage it has over ICO prices is not due to to the TAO/BTC price, but BTC/USD, which, sure, is higher than in 2016.

This site wants things done their way, but crypto can be implemented anyway anyone wants.  It's a big, big world out there.  I don't do things your way and I never have and I never will.  I'm not here to please a forum where less people read the content than my twitter feed.

As I stated before the mod removed it, I'm posting here because the one member of our community that thinks BCT has value got so frustrated w/ the trolling I had to come and see it for myself.

BTW, nice moving goalposts.  Done here.  Enjoy your witchhunt.
You know, I don't think you'd have nearly as many problems if you even once could admit responsibility for literally anything that went wrong. It's OK to fail sometimes, as long as you take steps to improve.

Edit: here's the new github link

https://github.com/taoblockchain/tao2

Is there a particular reason why Bryce didn't do a proper github fork of the codebase (Tomochain), instead just grabbing it without any kind of attribution?

Also, it's funny how he don't even bother to change the amount of masternodes from the default from how they do it.

But yeah, I'm sure this will go as well as all the other things, and keep being maintained to the highest standard etc.

So are you saying that basically Bryce just cloned Tomochain and called it "Tao2"?

I mean, the repo is a direct clone, including the ten thousand or so commits made to tomochain before Bryce nabbed it.

I looked through a few of the commits, and at least I couldn't find any where he did any substansive changes.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAO] Tao, AltMarket & FanMix - Real Solutions for the Music Industry! on: April 09, 2020, 09:33:52 AM
Well, inventing the past is nothing new, I guess, but it's a bold plan when anyone can just google and find old roadmaps.

Also, it's impressive how both increased coin supply is good (more liquidity!) while also lower coin supply is good (higher price!) and you somehow expect these two things to happen at the same time.

You may want to doublecheck the "work" that Bryce does on the tao2 repo btw - as far as I can tell it's all changing constants back and forth that don't actually matter, and fixing (or "fixing" - removing the unit test) the odd bug introduced by the search-and-replace on tomochain -> tao.

But I'm sure this is all fine, as I said. I'm sure that success is just around the corner, like it has been now for several years.

Hey guys, got more fodder for your slash fiction  Wink

https://twitter.com/notsofast/status/1246810619153723392

That's NotSoFast, well known crypto name who's been a lowkey Tao supporter for a while now.

Oh so you've grown the userbase by like 5-20 %? Good for you!

Edit: I thought it might be worth pointing out: The however many thousand "followers" that the likes of notsofast and bryce have is not actual, real, flesh-and-blood people who are actually listening to them. You know that, right? I mean, it's pretty damn obvious when you look at the ratios of likes/comments/RTs and compare to other people with similar follower counts.

It's also "funny" how none of the systems they claim to be fully functional infrastructure actually are.

Today's case in point: It's no longer 14th of March anywhere and the (single) fanmix campaign that ever existed that was supposed to end on the 14th of March is still going strong.

By which I mean not "literally anyone has put in a single dollar or even monopoly money since October", but "it's still technically possible to pay into the campaign that ended yesterday".

Tao will implement master nodes in 2018

Let's say I'm not holding my breath.

Also, why the sudden tech change? Why is it obviously The Best Idea Ever now, and it wasn't before Christmas? What changed?

You're quoting something from October 2017. Obviously timelines were pushed back. The new codebase is already prepared and is coming in late March last I heard. Feel free to hold your breath or otherwise, up to you.
Soopy was announced as a core developer working on a major update to the codebase last year in the slack:

Jan 22nd update

community member Soopy took over main development of Tao core in 2019

So this has been planned for some time, I didn't know about it to post about it. I just pass along what info I have. I'm not an equity holder in any of the companies, so I don't have insider info. If I did, I wouldn't be able to share it any sooner than I share what I do get told.

The codebase hasn't been updated since 2018 if I recall correctly, so it needed a refresh at a minimum. Switching to an Ethereum fork will allow Tao to do what's always been planned, including having artist tokens on the Tao network itself.

It's funny, I've previously gotten criticism from one of the other troll accounts because ODB was issued as an ERC token instead of native to the Tao network, now I'm getting complaints that the software is being updated to allow it to be moved from Ethereum to Tao.   Roll Eyes

Looking forward to the new codebase in March.  Smiley

Yeah, about Soopy... I got curious, and did a little light googling. I mean I'm sure definitely-not-a-scammer Bryce Weiner has vouched for him, and everything is Definitely On The Level, but, well, he doesn't seem to be the most reliable of devs to walk the earth.

OTOH, who in crypto is?
