Great coin but please change difficulty re-targeting algo! Multipools currently manipulating the difficulty and making this coin difficult to mine...

phs.cryptcoins.net seems to be on the wrong blockchain!
edit: mailed cryptcoins support

I was wondering if there were any programmers out there who think they could whip up a completely new face for the wallet? I mean as in the entire wallet looks different from all the generic wallets. Attractive, water themed, perhaps slides for ads/pictures of charity achievements, perhaps gif's of drops of water that drip when you send coins, etc etc. The possibilities are endless. I think an attractive wallet with nice pictures/sounds would attract a lot of people. It would certainly stand out in the crowd.
New wallet designs could be the next huge thing for ascetics programmers. There must be a ton of people around here that can do this. Bounties can be raised if need be!
Great idea - especially considering you interact more with PoS coin wallets (for staking, etc). We also need coin control for CleanWaterCoin!

when you bring your wallet online with high coin age coins, you stand a better chance of staking than coins on the network with lower coin age
Can high coin age coins stake in as little as half an hour? i've had coins stake in less than 30mins after opening (and unlocking) my wallet yes

all the coin is giveaway ? not mine?
Nope, apart from 5% premine GiveCoin is Scrypt PoW mining.

Love the idea behind the coin. Technical design & emission model solid (although with scrypt ASICs on the horizon I would have preferred something like X11 algo). Solid marketing approach.
Seriously thinking about supporting GiveCoin.
Only concern being 5% premine...

Great thread & info, thanks!
I've taken the plunge and bought some POS coins, but now I'm unsure how to guarantee I earn my 'interest' for different coins. Do all of the POS coins require keeping the wallet open 24/7?
It would be great if you could add some info on what is required to generate the POS coins for each coin on your list.
I've done some preliminary reading today and it seems with some coins you might be able to risk opening the wallet as little as once a week and still get your stake coins paid, but I've also read conflicting reports that suggest nearly all POS wallet needs to be 'unlocked' and opened all the time to generate interest. I'm not sure how to 'unlock' a wallet, but suspect it might be the same as 'encrypt' a wallet.
This information is critical for any would be stakehunters, so it would be good to add that info in this thread.
Thanks again for starting a very informative discussion!
in short, encrypted wallet needs to be unlocked before you can stake (if you don't encrypt your wallet, coins will also stake - NOT recommended) to unlock encrypted wallet execute the following command in debug window walletpassphrase mypassword 999999 it is NOT required to have your wallet open and unlocked 24/7 to stake coins age with your wallet offline when you bring your wallet online with high coin age coins, you stand a better chance of staking than coins on the network with lower coin age for more info refer to http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Proof_of_Stake

What's with phs.minar.cc? Wrong blockchain perhaps??
Edit: phsblocks.com seems to be fine, looks like I lost about 200 PHS mined at minar.cc
Why did this happen? Also, there are still a lot of workers mining at minar.cc that needs to be warned.
Edit: Mailed minar.cc to either fix or take down the pool asap.

Cold storage of your private / public key combination in principle protects you against hackers but you need to be extra careful re
a) backing up your keys (if you only have it stored on a paper wallet and you lose it you lose all your coins)
b) physical theft of you paper wallet
In addition to encrypted wallet.dat files & cold storage paper wallets I have my keys backed up in the cloud in OpenPGP encrypted files stored in TrueCrypt containers (ie dual encryption protection).

Wonderful, thanks a lot. Using the same idea as the dev of HBN? Not that it's bad, quite the contrary, as my favorite coins happen to be HBN and PHS. I support PoS based coins and think it's in everyone's interest to have some basic standards between clients. For example everyone can find their stake/mint information in the same place across clients, makes it user friendly. Not to mention, I like having this too (and let's face it the majority of users hate going to console so why force them) Love this feature and I agree 100% regarding consistency between wallet UIs. Let PHS and HBN devs lead the way!

Trying to figure out where we are with GrowthCoin.
26.6 million coins already in circulation.
Coin started with 100 coins per block halving every 172,800 blocks. Current Block = 359,718 so am I correct in assuming current block reward = 25 coins?
Also, hourly random bonus block of 500-1000 coins still the same?

as a crypto investor researching coins with long term investment potential there is a lot to like about about FlutterCoin - NVC based PoS model (100% max yearly interest, 30 min/90 max days stake age) - long term PoW rewards / mining potential - uniqueness of PoB rewards, etc - overall fairness of distribution model - name / logo - dev focus on getting the basics right, etc the only thing i would have done differently is not to use the B word i prefer rare coins and don't like it when total supply gets to billions (especially when considering the 8 decimal places factor) even so, Flutter made my candidates-for-long-term-investment-coins-shortlist congrats to the dev, i wish this coin the best possible future & will be keeping a close watch... i'd be interested hearing what other alt coins have good long term potential, if you care to share. rather than just list the coins i consider to have good long term potential i will point you to a few good threads i plan on sharing my own research & strategy re investment coins in the near future (blog or website maybe - not sure about the format yet) in the meantime, suggestions and ideas shared in threads below will give you an excellent start Proof of Stake Coin List (by StakeHunter) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=458726.0Proof of Stake Investment - NVC/HBN/PHS/TEK/and more (by StakeHunter) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498739.0HBN Investment Journal - 2% returns every ten days - 80,000+ HBN Porfolio (by tokyoghetto) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406112.0

I would like to hear more about PoB. In example is it possible to abuse the system by sending coins back and forth between two wallets thus "mining" new coins?
question already asked and answered by dev on page 1

to the dev, have you taken a look at BC (BlackCoin)? Might be worth taking a look at as it was a POS coin with a finite amount. Maybe consider tweaking the coin so it transforms into a POS/POB(POT) only coin quicker.
the long term potential of FlutterCoin is in it's uniqueness and long term interest for both miners (PoW) and PoS investors dev, please don't morph Flutter into another mintcoin clone
