Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transferring stocks share ownership in exchange for Bitcoins?
|

If you wanted to buy Bitcoin on an exchange, then yes, selling your stocks and filling up your exchange account with USD would probably have to be the way to do it for now. As stated previously, I don't think any services exist yet where you could trade stocks directly for BTC online. The stock market and securities are so highly regulated, with all of the KYC AML compliancies & taxes and whatnot, and BTC is almost fully unregulated, that I think this would be a very sticky and complicated process to work on/create. With that being said though- I would guess there are multiple companies working on bringing that to the market already.
However, if you can get the physical shares, and not with your name solely printed on them as the owner, I would think you would be able to do a p2p trade with somebody. You would obv. have to find someone wanting them (JNJ wouldn't be a hard sell though), and trust would have to be established- both yourself and proving that the stocks are legitimate and could be transferred. A third party escrow would probably be the best case in that scenario.
Hope any of this helps, snarlpill

This is one example someone sent me for 5$ Btw , don't get me wrong , I am not saying the one I paid 5$ is greatest ever . I am just stating the level people offer for 5$ and its better than you think. Not great maybe ( just a B on a computer processor but looks half-decent) but better than no logo. That does look pretty decent in my opinion. Fairly basic, and very simplistic, but sometimes simple can be better. Only thing I would maybe suggest though is to put the slashes coming out of the top and bottom of the B, like this- BTC And if I were you I would probably play around with rotating the B a little bit and see how it looks at different angles. Sometimes I feel like part of a logo can look better if it is angled a little bit, rather than just straight up and down.

Would like to know how peoples put own ads in own website for 0.00000001 if min bid is 0.001 for example?
Simple. 1) Set 0.00000001 minimum bid price for your ad slot. 2) Place your "house ad" bid of 0.00000001 BTC for the ad that you want to have there as a backup. 3) After your advertising bid is in place, then go to edit your ad slot and raise the minimum bid. Hope this helps.

We are testing it now. Will let you know if it's a scam or a real paying faucet soon. {Average hourly is a bit low} compared to Freebitco.in Will report back. It's definitely a real paying faucet- several instant transactions to my MicroWallet account have shown me this. Decent referral rate too; 50% at the moment. However, it doesn't look like OP has responded since the... OP. So I do not know the legitimacy of This particular venture. I would advise to not do any free advertising (I.e. url without your referral link) until concrete follow-up details have been posted, or payment is made up-front/escrowed.

You seem to be stuck in the past, my friend. Both Mt. Gox and Liberty Reserve are long gone, and the consensus is actually that Mt. Gox turned out to be the Least reputable exchange. For reputable Bitcoin purchasing with a credit/debit card, I recommend and can personally vouch for coin.mx (my personal choice besides p2p exchanges) or, I suppose- coinbase.com. But I'm not a big fan of regulation-heavy Coinbase. Good luck, and hope this helps, snarlpill

I have about 6 shares of stock with Johnson and Johnson I was looking to sell. Instead of having a check mailed to me I was wondering is it possible to transfer them in exchange for Bitcoins?? Or does this type of trading not exist?
I used to play the stock market a little bit and have thought about this as well. I use Scottrade and I'm pretty sure them and other brokerages like them have an option available of sort of "cashing out" your shares from their system, and having a physical declaration of shares held sent to you, as in a fancy paper saying you own X amount of shares in Z company. If you could do this, then you would be able to receive the shares and then trade them for BTC.

Statements like these guarantee people will never trust you.
Your offer holds no logic and there is no common sense involved as to why you would want to host someones miners for free.
That is of course you are willing to put your information on the internet 100% and become a "public figure" being vulnerable to any and all people interested in or about you.
He clearly stated that he will be taking a percentage of the miners' output for offering this service, so nobody's saying he's going to host them for free. It is logical, sure- since he said he gets free power, and will be making money from your miners. The logic part checks out, the real issue though is trust, I.e. if you believe him or not. I know if I had a large farm of miners, paid a lot in electricity, and was considering this service, then I would go to Sweden and meet up with him to see if it checks out or not. He has offered to do that for people. I don't know.

Another point to make is that terrorist groups have very little trouble getting funding anyway at the moment.
If, [insert your diety] forbid, any such group were to use the blockchain, then this transaction will exist and be up for scrutinisation for as long as the blockchain is. Im sure we will see specialist blockchain forensic companies springing up in the not too distant future (govts are already doing this).
For sure. Heavily funded and for some reason militarized by our tax dollars, of course.

Funny how nobody ever say: I won 50 times in a row on 50/50, there must be a flaw in primedice, I will contact the devs so I can refund the coins I got in a UNFAIR way Made me chuckle out loud a little bit. So true. If only your reply and mine before it could automatically post in a thread like this everytime someone makes one about PD.

Lol, oh boy. If I had a dollar for every thread I saw where somebody lost their BTC gambling at PrimeDice and then called it a scam- Well, I'd have a lot of dollars, that I could then lose at PD and accuse them of being a scam myself! ( Obviously joking on that last part. It's Provably Fair. You can verify bets yourself to see that it is not scamming you.)

Kind of random, but 2 thoughts/comments- @Stunna- Have you ever thought about doing "No Confirm" deposits, aka instant deposits, but just have to have at least 1 confirm before withdrawing? And could anybody let me know how to sign up for the website owner 20% referral boost? I have sent an email or 2, no luck so far, but if there are stipulations could you please send them to support(@)cryptoplanet.co ? 86 referrals so far, but no whales yet- barely even tuna fish
