Hello. 👋🏻 Today we will tell you about Delegated PoS and its advantages. Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) is a generic term that describes the evolution of basic consensus protocols based on stake confirmation. In these protocols, blocks are generated by a predetermined set of system users (delegates) who are rewarded for their duty and punished for malicious behavior (such as participating in double spending). 📌 In DPoS algorithms, delegates participate in two separate processes:🔹 Building a block of transactions; 🔹 Verification of the generated block validity using an electronic signature. While a block is created by an individual user in order to be considered valid, it usually needs to be signed by more than one delegate. The list of users suitable for signing blocks is periodically changed in accordance with certain rules. 📌 The share is taken into account in DPoS in one of the following ways:🔹 Delegates can be selected based on their shares in the system. 🔹 Delegates can receive votes from all users, the strength of the vote depends on the share of the currency of the voter. 🔹 The votes of delegates for valid blocks may be proportional to their security deposit. 📌 Key Benefits of DPoS:🔹 Proof of Stake offers a more scalable solution than PoW algorithms. 🔹 Do not require high amounts of electricity. 🔹 DPoS offers a faster transaction time than other algorithms. 🔹 PoS generally offers a more inclusive and democratic solution for mining. 🔹 Mining operations are not restricted by the need for expensive equipment. 🔹 DPoS offers a mining solution that is closer to a decentralized consensus mechanism for the cryptocurrency's underlying mining algorithm. 🔹 DPoS still offers protections against double-spending on the network. 📌 New Delegated Proof of Stake PlatformsAs new cryptocurrency assets enter the market, early movers often take the high ground, especially when it comes to a Proof of Stake algorithm which rewards users based upon the number of assets they hold on the platform.
