304  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Experiences about doubletrouble.bitcoinbet.com? on: February 25, 2011, 09:38:14 PM
The easiest solution is to bet on events where the games AND results are completely public, not some alleged dice roll.

See my sig for more details, lol.

312  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: OperationFabulous and 1400 BTC Bounty by NoAgendaMarket on: February 14, 2011, 02:29:58 PM
even .1/day for a site than get 8 hits a day is hardly "reasonable".

If people would just set minimums to 0 and let the market decide, you would see more business.
313  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Announcing BTCSportsBet.com - New Sportsbook + free coins offer inside! on: February 12, 2011, 01:33:13 AM
Aussie Rules Football is now up on BTCSportsBet.com !! (under the Football tab)

Also will have the Cricket World Cup next week.

Hang in there for decimal odds, coming very soon. Thanks and good luck with your action !

314  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: More divisibility required - move the decimal point on: February 10, 2011, 09:06:01 PM
I like supporting full precision in the UI and fixing coin selection.

The fees for generators should reflect actual costs, but I don't like the idea of hard-coding this. It should be user-selectable, and relaying fee requirements should be removed (or reduced and also user-selectable).

0.001 BTC is a good default fee. Amazon S3 charges $0.140 per GB if storage and $0.100 per GB of bandwidth. Even 0.0001 BTC per KB would be significantly higher.

agree with all of this, especially coin selection.
315  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tea store wanting to accept bit coins on: February 10, 2011, 06:24:09 PM
Yes, that is the cleanest way to do it.

In the future, since you already have an Customer Account concept coded into your site - you can assign an address to each Account, and any payments that come in to that address are credited to that customer's account.

Or you can keep generating addresses for each transaction and show them in your shopping cart app.

For now, to get started, assigning addresses / codes via email/PM here on the forums is the quickest way.

316  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tea store wanting to accept bit coins on: February 10, 2011, 05:57:28 PM
You should ask for interested parties to PM or email you, you give a unique address to that user, and when payment is received on that address - you PM or email the person back the code.

Giving out 1 address for everyone to use just doesn't work.

Also, while we like to support new businesses, charging an exchange rate that far away from the market is not going to make customers happy.

You're already gained exposure via this thread, why not sell the gift codes at even 1 BTC=1 USD, or less. Surely that would help marketing.
317  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Announcing BTCSportsBet.com - New Sportsbook + free coins offer inside! on: February 10, 2011, 01:15:21 PM
Sorry - the free coins offer ended Jan 25. People got on that pretty fast  Grin

There are lots of reduced juice promos and other bonuses in the works. Send me a PM for more details, they will be posted on the site soon.

Thanks and good luck.

319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is making very good progress! on: February 08, 2011, 03:02:12 PM
I reviewed the source and it's standard OpenVPN.

The risk, as I see it, is they are actually keeping logs - contrary to what they say. While unlikely, it is possible - so feel free to use rotating proxies or a different connection first, multiple layers are always better than one.

but +1 here as well. Need more of these in govt-friendly jurisdictions.

Did you say they ARE keeping logs or they CAN?

One is speculation, the other is an accusation.

No, I meant they CAN. I think it's very unlikely they are keeping logs. But there is no way to know for sure.
