No, I will not waste more time trying to sync the broken snapshot, I think you could just delete that. But check this out! Hey, wow it has been a long time, but cryptopia has finally finished liquidation court. The judge ruled cryptocurrency are assets owned by the users. They are now working on the claim system to get our coins back! https://www.grantthornton.co.nz/cryptopia-limited/

Too bad they don't trade sub-satoshi there, or have some kind of altcoin pair like dogecoin.

Mr. President Trump will win, regardless of the polls. Don't you remember last election?

Because in the bitcoin whitepaper bitcoin is called a peer-to-peer digital cash system, i.e. finance.
A blockchain is a secured distributed database that only accepts new entries in its public ledger through the mechanism of mining. Specifically hashing the block's raw data through the SHA256 algorithm.

Hello, so it appears whoever uploads the emerald snapshot has modified the blockchain and has added a block around 6112000. This does not work, because each block contains the hash of the previous block. My wallet attempted to reorganize the blockchain, this resulted in a bad alloc std error and crashed the wallet. The only option is for me to finish syncing manually. I will provide a non edited snapshot to actually help others sync their wallet. Thanks for having me waste several months trying to reindex the broken snapshot. Just for the record I tried it four times with three different snapshots, it takes about 24 hours to reindex up to the mentioned bad block.

Hello, I like Spartancoin. I think unnamed.exchange is the most active market currently.

I expect txbit.io to fail rather soon, unless they remove the KYC requirements. There is no liquidity or volume, so it appears money laundering would be quite impossible.

OK, so does anyone have a batcoin node?
I will trade 10,000 doge for 1 billion batcoin. Price of 0.00001 doge.
Nobody deleted my post, there are no moderators here. I am serious, I have the doge, and I want the batcoin.

No, you cannot recover your funds. You cannot deposit bitcoin into a bitcoin ATM, you are only able to send bitcoin to a specific address. When you purchase bitcoin with cash at a kiosk, it provides the private keys required to spend the bitcoin. It sounds like you sent the scammer a picture of the private key, which gives them the bitcoin.
They have already sent them to another address by now, so you can imagine it as impossible to recover. A private key is a 256 bit string of characters.
here is what a private key looks like:
5Kb8kLf9zgWQnogidDA76MzPL6TsZZY36hWXMssSzNydYXYB9KF
here is what a bitcoin address looks like:
12c6DSiU4Rq3P4ZxziKxzrL5LmMBrzjrJX
A bitcoin address can be searched for using a block explorer, this will tell you detailed information about the transactions and current balance of any address.
You should be careful to never share your private keys with anyone.
Sorry for your loss.

Wow, cool project. Where can I buy some batcoin?

Thank you, I will try the snapshot with -reindex command line option.
|
|
|
Of course I had it -reindex in the emerald.conf file. The snapshot for linux does not work for the windows client, and I seem to be the only one who uses windows. I am up to about 6500000 blocks now. My issue is that I cannot let my computer run continuously for days and days.
I will provide a windows snapshot when I am synced.
