101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Crypto Vs Corona Virus on: March 19, 2020, 01:48:21 PM
Quote from: Denreal

Why the fret? You should only be afraid of what you know nothing o. CoronaVirus is no more news. A lot of patients have been successfully treated from reports. Vaccines are being developed to help prevent and avoid further spread. Te death toll all over the world is not increasing, which mean the situation is gradually getting better. So, there is nothing to be afraid of. All we need is a lasting solution and everything will be fine. The crypto space was not left out when it started, so, if it ends, the crypto space will also feel its positive impact. In fact, activities will turn to normal, including in China.
the number of sick and dead increases exponentially

I think most of the people dying in regards to the Coronavirus are already sickly or have weakened immune systems. The issue with the Coronavirus (besides the economic fallout) is that alot of people have no resistance the current variant / strain since it's a new strain of the virus. I do think that eventually thanks to the number of infections and recoveries, the amount of people with some sort of resistance to the Covid-19 virus should increase exponentially once the epidemic subsides.

@crex24 Come here and explain, please

Just checking back in, but i'm still a bit curious to my question as well. Has there been any official word on the 1.3b HTMLcoins taken from the exchange? - This was the transaction I was curious about. If any moderators / exchange staff members could clear up any confusion, I would really appreciate it.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - A NEW ERA BEGINS on: March 19, 2020, 01:33:33 PM
What is all of this doxxing non-sense above, and tagging employers? Is this true? Hopefully these are only personal issues between to holders and having nothing to do with the Team.

Between one holder(me) and a few long term trolls. Offending tweet deleted. Nothing to do with the team.

Pretty petty considering more important events happening around the world.

Trolls sometimes deserve a taste of their own medicine  Wink Meanwhile the Xtrabytes project is moving forward  Smiley And in a couple of weeks XBY/XFUEL will be flashing up next door in your neighbour's living room!

I doubt as many people will invest if the community acts cancerous though. Should probably look into prioritizing making the project look positive for new people to join and actions like that looks pretty negative imho. Also it's probably a good idea to diversify anyways since I would imagine the market is looking for a rebound eventually (most markets).
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Corona drop over or will it continue? on: March 12, 2020, 12:31:50 PM
One of the worst day in crypto I would say, two days ago it was S&P who suffered the most of this epidemic and then crypto today. We can't tell when this is going to stop, bitcoin -20% and ethereum -30% and the bloodshed still continues as I type this message.

We might see another downward spiral and no one can tell when this panic selling will stop. The only thing we can do is wait and hope, and just HODL and don't panic and let everything settles down.

Yep, personally i'm planning to buy some crypto considering it dropped so fast. Normally when a flash crash happens, there's a bounce back upwards, but I do have to say it's pretty alarming to wake up to a -30% drop in Ethereum when I check my wallet(s)

If it goes back to $3k-$4k then that would be an ideal buying point imo, especially with the halving coming up pretty soon

106  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: March 11, 2020, 04:34:43 PM
Hey, I was doing some research and came across this

Has there been any explanation as to why over 1.3 billion HTML coins were transferred out of the exchange?

I hate to say it, but I really feel like the reason the coins are in maintenance is because of a hack. I want to try to see if there are any other answers for it though (also maybe some answers regarding that transaction)

Also the increased KYC requirements seem counter-intuitive and were increased right around the same timeframe
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temtum to be the first crypto to be used as a national currency ! on: March 10, 2020, 05:56:04 AM
This is a game changer !

This is the only real world case i have seen in crypto and will bring thousands of people that are new into crypto

TEMTUM will be top 10 when this news launches in 2 weeks

I hear they already have binance wanting to list them !

Love the enthusiasm, but not sure if it will be top 10 immediately haha
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: March 09, 2020, 02:19:12 PM
it professed to be my specialist organization and gave me a number to call. I admit I tried to call however the ring didn't sound right. Seemed like an old phone. I hung up and rebooted my PC.

If you get that while browsing, you should be able to block it with a noscript extention for firefox / your browser. I think rather than a crypto scam, most of the time it's just tech support scammers and if you see a message with something like "Hello! your computer have contacted Microsoft support and alerted us that your PC has a virus. Please call -number here-" then you can pretty much safely ignore it. When dealing with crypto though, it's always a good idea to have a cold / hardware wallet since it's much safer.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temtum to be the first crypto to be used as a national currency ! on: March 09, 2020, 06:14:04 AM
Meetings with the Angullia government and premier of Angullia is showing how temtum is the leader in being the chosen cryptocurrency architecture for a countrys aim to deploy their own digital currency !

Wow that's pretty amazing. I do feel like it bring up some concerns though. One of the major issues with crypto is the inherent volatility in the way that it operates. Have the team figured a way to address that issue?

When it comes to adoption though, I really do believe that this may be one of the largest advancements that I've seen recently so I do want to say congrats guys. I hope you guys keep up the amazing work for the cryptospace. Smiley
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To All Bounty hunters on: March 09, 2020, 12:18:13 AM
Sometimes even good projects can end up at the bottom. It's like a lottery. No matter how well you do your research, it doesn't give you a 100% guarantee.

Yep, this. When it comes to cryptocurrency there really aren't any guarantees at all.

Yikes. Will you guys be releasing a new white paper?
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Ways to earn crypto without investing or mining on: March 08, 2020, 11:51:48 PM
Hello crypto lovers,

I have written this article on 5 ways to earn crypto without investing or mining, I think this is very important as it is the best way to introduce new people into the cryptocurrency. The article link it below. Please feel free to share it with anyone who is looking for ways to earn crypto.

Do you know any other ways outside of the article? I am always looking for more ways to earn crypto to educate people. Also I would recommend that you look at the blogging platform the article is written on, it's one of the ways you can earn crypto for free.

You create content for people to read, similar to Steemit. There are two ways you earn crypto.

1 - Creating content - Users tip your article, you receive those tips.

2 - Tipping articles - When you want to tip an article, you choose how much of the tip you give to the article and how much you keep. You have to tip at least 20%. You get a certain amount of daily tips.

When you tip it rotates currently between HYDRO, Bounty0x and DAI. In the future, they will be adding BAT to the tokens you will own, i don't know if it will be added to the rotation, or they will tip more in BAT.

I really like the platform, and i would recommend it to anyone who likes to read / create crypto content or who wants to earn some established tokens. Remember that all these tokens are listed on exchanges and CoinMarketCap, so they all have a value, you don't need to worry about the bounty paying out or the token being of a value.

You can sign up through the link in the thread, and its free and easy. Hope to see you guys there!

P.S. If you like the article and sign up, give a tip for appreciation  Smiley

Nice write up! I've been considering Steemit for a while but never got around to it. I should give it a try later Smiley
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PSA : Remember to always back up your Private key / Seed! on: March 08, 2020, 11:49:07 PM
I know it's cliche, but I wanted to post this for newer people. If you don't control the keys to your wallet, then they aren't really your coin (i.e on exchanges). When you make a new wallet that you intend to keep funds in, please make sure to always backup your wallet seed. It's very important because if something happens (such as a hard drive failure), you will be able to recover your wallet and funds.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: March 08, 2020, 11:45:28 PM
I'm just trying to do my part, I know many won't care and some don't even bother to read anymore, they are just here for bounties, here is for those who cares about reading and learning.

Stay away from the following exchanges, I have bad experience with them already and I can still see few people getting caught in same trap

1. Vindax
2. Systemkoin
3. P2PB2B
4. Latoken

Not just for fake volumes and watched trade but scams, lose of funds, swapping of withdrawal addresses, you name it, have a great day

I think after Cryptopia, I'm far more careful now. Ironically I should have been more careful after seeing what happened with Mt.Gox and Cryptsy but...yup, "not your keys, not your coins" is always true haha
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum going back to under 200$? on: March 08, 2020, 11:39:52 PM
After a long time, Ethereum price increased well but it seems they failed to keep the high zone for a long time. Today Ethereum price decreased more than 25$ and it continues. Just seen an article that Ethereum price may come to 230 to 210$, so, if that happens then under 200$ is not that far!

Its possible...since what comes up, must come down Smiley

I'm curious to see what happens upon ethereum 2.0 though. I like the idea of being able to stake ethereum honestly, although I am also a bit concerned about inflation. In the long-term, I would imagine that ethereum could hit another ATH with enough time.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am fed up with scammers and newbies. on: March 08, 2020, 11:33:32 PM
I don't think that there would really be someone who would fall for this trick.
8K retweet and 9K likes doesn't really seem's big if you'll ask me there are so many fake accounts so this could easily be done by them.
And for newbie's I don't really think that they would easily be tricked by that who would even believe it?

of course beginners will be easily tempted, otherwise how could the hype or other tricks to trick them into continuing.
yes that's because of the lack of knowledge of people who join crypto so they are easily tempted by the lure of big profits.
for example the liza coin hype and halbing in the yobit market a few years ago, wouldn't that be one of the biggest hype, because my friend was also tempted by the promised profit.

Promised profit is pretty much always a lie unfortunately. I would imagine that everyone would love the idea of having a 100% guarantee that there is such a thing as guaranteed profit in this space, but that's probably one of the biggest red flags when it comes to crypto since in crypto...there's no such thing as "guaranteed profit". Smiley
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am fed up with scammers and newbies. on: March 08, 2020, 11:30:57 PM
Last week, I found an airdrop project in Telegram called Marco Protocol, the airdrop looked decent at the first stage, I earned 200 MAPC tokens and that was instant! But you only can withdraw from your MAP wallet when Airdrop program will end, that's good, I am okay with it. Their airdrop tweet got 8K retweet and 9K likes, so, you can understand how hype it had!
But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving. Can you imagine? 1 Bitcoin price is 8600 USD, people can buy by 4300$! I believe This is absolutely scam but many newbies already have fallen for that! As they saw MAPC has huge support in twitter, and they listed on CMC too.

50% off announcement:

I remember that one. I have to be honest when it comes to airdrops, there are so many that will act in shady ways and there are so many that are worth very little to almost nothing. The important part here is that you didn't fall for the scam and you saw through what they were planning. A airdrop scam often begins with hype (as mentioned in your post) and they use that hype to advertise their scam. Once people send them money, they often don't receive anything in return. It takes many different forms as well, so it's not just "selling cheap bitcoin". There are airdrops that will send you to fake MEW / KYC, airdrops that will ask you to pay a fee to receive your coins, and some that will promise silly things like to double your eth / btc by sending them eth / btc first.

Make sure to be careful out there when pursuing airdrops.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 08, 2020, 11:24:36 PM
It's so scary to know that there is an exchange using a fake volume trading. Definitely this will make some of investors lose their trust in cryptocurrency investments. I hope that scams and fraudulent acts would be gone in crypto business, so that many crypto enthusisast would pursue to continue in crypto investments.

Honestly, I would imagine that almost all of the larger exchanges have some sort of fake volume. There's wash trading on pretty much every exchange in some form too. I think it's worse for the low-volume and low-liquidity projects though since they're so easy to manipulate.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020? on: March 08, 2020, 11:03:53 PM
There is no better example of a scam in technology history than Ethereum

There is no subjectivity necessary to state the obvious, it's completely derived from the premine, from their idiocy in every single thing they do.

Ethereum group are literally made of only people who are unable to make a single rational choice in their lives, starting with always permissioned designs like PoS and premines and ICO's and ending with failures like countless subjective forks forced on everyone, money confiscations, censorship already demonstrated. They even failed at accidentally forking the chain a few times due to incompetent devs. But only incompetent developers cannot tell if 1 or 2 is bigger and cannot calculate how only 1 trusted party can have 70% of supply in the damn premined design.

Ethereum is a community of only illiterate idiots and scammers with literally no other options to explain a choice for a centralized platform cosplaying crypto.

a singledumb image can explain more than 100% of their community understands in lifetime, but why not several:

It's not possible in this universe to be more of an idiot or a scammer than to be a member of the ethereum community.

It's a statement fully objective to accurately describe something as those words were intended for upon their creation.

Stop treating them like they have an equally valid opinion when they are promoting 1 > 2, 70% is ~ 0%, and how network that already demonstrated trivial subjective censorship and confiscations is trustless and censorship resistant.

I really don't think Ethereum is a scam, but there are tons of tokens that do turn out to be scams...Claymore was a good recent example, and lots of the deflationary coins Smiley
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020? on: March 08, 2020, 11:02:05 PM
Ethereum has been steadily on the rise for a good while now, and this first half of Q1 2020 has proven that they have brought that same energy into the new decade. They have started 2020 with a bang, more than doubling in value in just 2 months.

There are quite a few factors that have come into play to make this a winning year for Ethereum and here are just a few:

What do you think we can expect to see for the rest of the year?

Doubt it. If you was around for what people called "The Flippening", Eth almost reached rank one and then crashed back down, so I would imagine the same thing would happen again. As for Ethereum itself being defeated in the future, I think it's possible one day since this space is still very young (maybe even bitcoin eventually too). But I think Ethereum and bitcoin are pretty safe bets for this year as rank 1 and 2 respectively.
