2  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Best Miner + Settings for 5830 on: June 30, 2011, 12:50:09 PM
My pleasure)))

Do you use modified kernel?
Phatk or what?
Try to boost your mem to 360-365. It added me a couple of MH\s.

yes i use phatk, i modified the kernel according to this thread http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=23067.msg291159#msg291159 are there any other you know of?

im getting now 312 mHash/s with 985/300. temp is at 76 C is that too high for 24/7 usage?

what do u think abt difficulty increase? still profitable for you? Smiley
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Best Miner + Settings for 5830 on: June 30, 2011, 12:18:43 PM
Hey Guys,

i have a 5830 and i was wondering which miner i shud use and with what settings, any suggestions?

I overclocked using trixx.

Could you please also tell me what amd catalyst and ati stream do?

thanks for ur answers in advance !

The best for you would be:

Catalyst 11.6

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx

SDK 2.4

http://developer.amd.com/sdks/AMDAPPSDK/downloads/Pages/default.aspx

GuiMiner (easy to configure)

http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=3878.0

Create phoenix miner in GuiMiner, configure for desired pool using these flags:
-k phatk DEVICE=0 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false WORKSIZE=256 AGGRESSION=13

Than download this:

http://github.com/downloads/m0mchil/poclbm/poclbm_py2exe_20110627.7z

and unpack the phatk.cl to guiminer\kernels\phatk naming it kernel.cl
this manipulation will boost your performance up to 3%

Overclock your device to 1000 core and underclock memory to ~300-365 (needs testing) and I guarantee you will beat 310 MH\s!

Good luck!

Any questions? Feel free to PM!

did exactly that about 2 days ago just with 980/300, runs very stable 24/7. Running at 310.06 mHash/s. I think thats a good rate no? Thank you very much for your answer Smiley

9  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [SMALL REWARD] Help to setup single and two 6990s mining rig - software choice on: June 27, 2011, 09:41:38 AM
1) which mining software should I use? I've been using poclbm until now, but it seems that phoenix's performances have been greatly improved for the latest ATI cards, am I correct? I can read up to 835 Mhash/s at https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Hello gaglia,

i would highly suggest you to use the new phoenix miner (vers. 1.50) with the phatk kernel as this is the fastest gpu miner for most powerful ati cards atm.

You can maximise the mHash/s ur getting by 3% more by applying these changes to the kernel file (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=23067.msg291159#msg291159) works great for me and others, gave me a boost of 10 mhash/s.

here the link to the phoenix miner http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6458.0 you can download it here.

hope i could help u at least a little Smiley

hey guys,

i am mining with 300 Mhash/s and i was wondering what you think would be the best payment mode for me, especially after the difficulty increase what do you think is more profitable with a relatively low hashrate like mine now?

thanks!
12  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Best Miner + Settings for 5830 on: June 24, 2011, 12:08:02 PM
great thank you two! im getting 280 Mhash/s now and im more than happy with that.

I have one more question though, maybe you can help me with that also Smiley

and should i choose pay per share or proportional with my relatively low hashrate of  around 300 Mhash/s in total?

hope you can help me with that oen too Smiley

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Price will be $5 by the end of this month on: June 20, 2011, 04:24:26 PM
i dont think it will go down to 5$/1BTC by the end of the month. even though there has been a serious drop due to the hack of mtgox and various other reasons i can only agree with Jordoss as my opinion is also that the price of BTC can only go up in the future.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wish Me Luck! I Just Spent Nearly $2000 On Bitcoins! on: June 20, 2011, 04:08:54 PM
probably not the best idea to invest that amount of money now, right after mtgox got hacked. im very sure tho that after a few month youll have made a good amount of profit. Good luck !
