i think rtx 5000 series focus on add AI chip for process AI work, DLSS4 maybe it not make different for mining.

I love that 2 RTX 2070 GPUs mine as one top RTX 4090 GPU and AMD GPUs can compete on this coin with Nvidia GPUs.

6700xt hashrate lower than 6600 LOL!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Valve's Steam Deck as a Mining Machine? on: December 17, 2022, 07:53:39 PM

but for the future you never know.

I remember people desperate buying laptops with 3060 here and it was profitable at that time, the future is unknown, maybe our old cards can mine again, maybe consoles, who knows?

When I stopped my mining operations in 2018 due to market crash, I sold almost all equipment, thinking that at that moment everything was done forever, but I was wrong.
My family took to garbage more or less 15 risers cable, at that moment nobody would buy. But after 2020 I need to buy all the risers again, more than 200 USD of risers...
My old RX 480s and 580s could give me more profits than I earned when I sold...
Old motherboards with dated CPUs saved my mining some times, just to test or until my package comes...

So it's hard to say about the future.

For a short period of time I had a Steam Deck, it was a great machine, very powerful to a portable console, but I sold easily in a few hours, a person offered a lot of money  Cheesy
You can be sure in a few months some guy can make a miner to run on Steam Deck, because for now it's not wide available to buy, I think just last month Valve was delivering without lines.

yes we don't know about future but can't compare with 2018 we know ETH will back in some day.

but after the merge, ETH can't mine anymore it hard to say other coin can perform profit like ETH for miner.

PS. i think mine with game console or handheld it not good idea yet

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is the HDD mining hype over? on: November 17, 2022, 07:16:33 PM
Chia (XCH) is being traded for $31.42 USD, this price, or something like 100USD is probably the fair price, but the peak of 1599 USD was only speculation in my opinion, and these prices can't be reached again.
At that time people was excited about HDD mining and the creator Bram Cohen.
But after more than a year, which problems did the coin solved? What relevant projects are being made?

Unfortunately it was only hype, and the chart says all:

...

This usually happens when a new coin is launched. Hype spreads like crazy, pumping the cryptocurrency's price to the moon. But after a few months, you will see prices going down due to loss of interest among the general public. It happened with Zcash when it traded well above $1.3k per coin, only to go all the way down to less than $50. What makes you think Chia would be any different? It seems to me that HDD mining's popularity is declining, when there are a lot of coins which can be mined via the use of ASICs and GPUs.

As far as I know, both Chia and Burst are the only coins in existence which can be mined with a HDD. I guess that's why there's not a lot of interest in mining them. If only developers made more HDD-mineable coins things would've been different. Not only HDDs are more accessible than GPUs or ASIC, but they're cheaper too (depending on the type of HDD, of course). At least, the two coins (Chia and Burst) are still alive. Who knows if someone decides to create a new fork out of these projects to revive the hype? Just my thoughts Grin

chia have a lot of fork coin but not have any coin can make price higher than chia
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is the HDD mining hype over? on: November 15, 2022, 11:41:09 PM
Come on people havent you seen chia and hdd price?you can buy bunch of chias for that money which that hdd will never mine in whole life.

I agree here as with HDD is much different than with GPU-s,while I still mine with GPU-s hoping these new coins will be worth much more than they are now,it is a completely different story with HDD mining, you can't mine any other coin except CHIA or other choices are very limited here so it does not make sense to setup your server to mine CHIA,running a lot of HDD-s requires resources like a good CPU and RAM and in the end this setup cost much more than any CHIA you can mine,so I only agree in HDD mining is not worthy it is better to buy coins but in GPU mining for me it is a completely different thing.

chia is not mining it framing use little resources it like you can use raspberry pi  but progress before faming it use a lot of power and good cpu and ssd for plotting faster.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are profitable these days? on: November 15, 2022, 10:27:59 PM
Guys I think kaspa should be more profitable right now for GPU miners, the volume is up 80% since the last 24hours and the price is back to 0.006$ from 0.001$ from a month ago, if anyone have been mining this coin since a month ago well they are up 6x right now. Good luck.

price up 6x but it can't say this coin have profit

but who know maybe in couple year kaspa can go up 30-50x

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is the HDD mining hype over? on: November 09, 2022, 05:35:21 PM
hype for HDD mining is gone everyone think Chia is better than other HDD mining after launch with high price it going down everyday.

compare to gpu mine on Chia in last year gpu is so much better but today gpu is not profit yet HDD mining is not look bad, low power consumption after plot no need to do anything
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are profitable these days? on: October 28, 2022, 01:47:35 PM
hard to mine with profit like ETH (before merge)

i think miner have 2 choices if you electricity not free or very low

1.sell gpu and keep that money(or buy some coin you like)

2.mine with loss pay electricity bill hope you coin price will go up like ETH and wait for next bull run
Have you tried to sell the video card now?
The price will be so low that it makes no sense. It is better to save the video card until the next mining season.
Why mine at a loss if you can buy cryptocurrency with this money and not turn on video cards?

yes i sell my 3070 gpu i buy form dec2020-feb2021 to gamer i buy around 549 usd and sell it around 300 usd and keep this money for buy new card with new 3 year warranty or buy some coin

because i think when new rtx card 4070-4080 coming and mining not profit yet it hard to sell in this price

this is only my opinion i know if other buy card in this year don't think like this because gpu price is skyrocket to the moon

Selling the gpu is a bad idea because right now GPU price have decrease a lot, you will be selling for a loss, those who sold their graphic cards before the Ethereum merge took place are the luckiest one, I lost only 50$ off my GPus that I bought for 450$ each, now you just have to keep mining nonstop and wait for better green market a few years later.

if you can cover electricity bill for next bull run it ok to keep it but who know next bull run can make gpu price spike like 2017 and 2021-2022

i don't know what coin can perform like ETH for miner in good profit, less temp less power

maybe i'm wrong ETC can hit 500-1000usd or more

and yes sell gpu right now it not good price but you can sell to gamer who want to buy new card for new game coming in few month
