Might just get a Trezor its cheap and does a lot of coins..... saves the fuss!
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline storage? on: July 13, 2017, 02:01:15 PM
Where are the wallet files? if the .dat files are stored in the computer (most likley) then all you are doing is moving the program (or if your being silly, the shortcut). Meaning anybody could download a new wallet program onto your computer and open the wallets well if they had the passwords

No, I actually installed it on the usb stick I chose the location at time of installing the program, so all the jaxx folder and files are on the stick, but i dont know if the keys are on the stick or not?
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline storage? on: July 13, 2017, 01:49:38 PM
jaxx isnt open source but they have their code on the website........ but that could be a lie?!

I don't have millions to protect but just want to be as safe as I can be and seems to be so much miss info about.

Again this is the kind of thing that needs to be overcome if the crypo world ever wants to become mainstream, the public need/want simplicity (think Apple style simple!)

All I'm trying to ascertain in this thread is,
when using Jaxx where are my keys kept?
And if I have it installed on a usb stick that I unplug from the pc are they "safer" than just on the pc?
I also have a copy of tails on a USB stick that I could use the wallet on....?

side note; When I send coins to a wallet that is off line, where do the coins go?HuhHuh?
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline storage? on: July 13, 2017, 12:59:43 PM
Yeah im not sure, I can see my public and private keys inside jaxx and even export them if i want but im just not clear where they are actually sitting?

If they are on the USB stick I have jaxx on? If i unplug that from the pc is it safer than it being on my desktop all  the time?

53  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another ebay/paypal scam.... on: October 23, 2013, 07:43:35 AM
So...

I open a paypal account and go shopping;
Get a bot running on Tor and brute-force my own account

...And...

Get my money back because they will support my claim that I was hacked.

Is that?  Roll Eyes

Yes and if you wait a couple of days until everything is posted out you get the items and you'll be covered by PayPal.....the seller will also be covered if they are sending out in the post !!!!....the perfect scam !
54  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another ebay/paypal scam.... on: October 22, 2013, 06:26:03 AM
Yes like I posted before, she's claiming she got hacked so I don't want to post her details in case she's telling the truth. I called PayPal and they said they can tell if she was hacked from the number of password attempts and the IP addresses those attempts came from.....if they aren't addresses she normally uses then its likely her account was breached.

The Addy I sent them to, not that anything can be done !
57  Economy / Scam Accusations / Another ebay/paypal scam.... on: October 21, 2013, 05:13:05 PM
Yup I've been done.....
Put 2.5 btc up for sale as I couldn't be arsed with the mt.gox hastle.
Someone bought them and payed within the hour.
The person had 700+ feedback and all seemed quite good.
Logged into PayPal and had the green "safe to send" box around my transaction.
So I did .....
Today they now have a case open and want the money back.
She's claiming she's been hacked, both accounts I guess! And having called PayPal they don't seem interested in helping because I didn't physically post anything !!!!!!!......
Aaarrrrgh !!!!
