News like this won't affect bitcoin in the slightest, except for create short-term dips in price.

I am wondering if someone got killed by this or its just for ceremonies?
It was for some pompous asswipe Nazi officer They didn't get their hands dirty.

My grandpa killed the nazi, looted his stuff. As you do...

I don't know the full story, but he fought alongside Norwegian rebels who were originally fishermen. I don't know whether the knife was used to kill somebody prior to that.

Also: As Yankee (BitInstant) mentioned, I sent the 1 BTC back to him and we cancelled the trade. DrahogErusiel PM:ed me offering to pay for shipping as well, which I thought was cool, and I am awaiting his reply currently.

Thanks all!
25  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Transaction time improvement on: April 16, 2014, 02:54:32 PM
Transaction time with bitcoin payments can be a bit of a letdown sometimes. Waiting 20 or so minutes for confirmations might be secure, but removes a lot of the fluidity of the transaction system.

Is there a way in the future where bitcoin transactions can come close to some of the quick alts, like doge and quark? Or will the opposite happen; slower confirmation times as the blockchain grows?
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "Merchant acceptance is NEGATIVE for bitcoin" on: April 16, 2014, 02:36:49 AM
I watched a talk on the economy between Peter Schiff and Joe Rogan; at the end they discuss Bitcoin, and Peter shares his criticism. He says, essentially, that the more merchants that are accepting bitcoin the more the price of bitcoin will fall, because they instantly convert it back to fiat (thus putting in SELL orders). So customers who own bitcoins and use them actually sell them onto the market, indirectly. This wouldn't be a problem if bitcoin was the main currency for merchants, customers, suppliers, etc, but that is not on the realistic horizon yet.

So, I was wondering, could this be part of the reason why prices have consistently gone down as merchant acceptance has gone up?

27  Local / Skandinavisk / Söker web designers, skriptkunniga programmerare (Göteborg!) on: April 13, 2014, 05:58:09 PM
Tjenare!

Hello folks!

Okay. Let's say you had a revolutionary bitcoin gambling concept, but you haven't got money or the technical know-how to implement advanced scripts and design websites - where would you turn? Is this a good place to ask for such advice?

Basically what I am: An idea geezer lacking the practical skills to build my vision. What I want to do is to get in contact with people who are able to create websites similar to Satoshidice from scratch. So we're talking about algorithms, hack-proof code, graphics... all that.

I want to sort-of 'pitch' my concept to them, but still be involved in the project. Is there anyone here who can steer me in the right direction?

Cheers for the help guys Smiley

@chadwickx16: Sure, I'm up for the buyer's suggestions.

@odolvlobo: Yeah, it's not very pleasant.

Hello folks Smiley

A couple of years ago I inherited this WW2 dagger from my grandfather who fought the nazis. This is war loot from the late 30's; the item is an Eickhorn Solingen (http://www.germanwarbooty.com/item-daggers/daggers%20naval.htm).

I am selling it for 1 BTC. [as long as at $385 - $400 range]

Feel free to ask me anything about it! (Although I don't know a great deal abou it... it's been in my granddad's kamfer chest for decades, and I don't really want this sort of thing in my house)
