41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anti-Bitcoin people for the European Bitcoin Conference on: October 12, 2011, 03:23:21 PM
I think the majority of "anti-bitcoin" people actually think along the same lines as myself which is that I think Bitcoin is a great idea, but has such an insane amount of work before it actually becomes viable and society simply will not accept it to the point that it is almost a waste of time even trying.

I say almost because I think the technology itself is great and could be used for other purposes than currency.

Then there is the fact that a large portion of the sites are run by amateurs or scammers that keep getting our passwords leaked and other bullshit. Your Bitcoin consultancy is decent, but even you had a fuckup with Britcoin at one point and your about as credible as it gets in the Bitcoin community.

Bitcoin shouldn't have gone public, it should have remained as a closed experiment similar to how the internet began between academic institutions, even Facebook started along those lines. Gradually more people that actually have an interest and understanding of the technology would have got involved until it was ready for a public release. Sadly it's too late now, it was released into the wild before it was ready and it's reputation is tarnished as a result.
42  Other / Meta / Re: Info about the recent attack on: September 11, 2011, 09:06:24 AM
I'm done with this bullshit. Every month my password is leaked by fail bitcoin sites and their shit security.

Yes, I use different passwords for each site. I don't give a flying fuck.

This is unacceptable,
bye

44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Who else sold out? on: September 04, 2011, 09:31:10 AM
This is not a troll thread. I ask a simple question, if you start spewing crap about this being a troll thread then you are the troll. This is a legitimate question and I see no reason why it doesn't have a place on this forum.

How many of you guys have lost faith in Bitcoin and sold almost all of yours?
45  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any truth to this bruce ? (burce lureing minors in to fag hotel in spain) on: September 03, 2011, 08:30:35 AM
Not sticking for the guy, but wasn't he the one, eye groping that hot chick in the last bitcoin video in the end? I mean he was down right starring at them sexy legs of that fine women Grin. That is if I am talking about the correct bruce.

Haha this is exactly what I thought when I read the OP.

If your on about Jeffries you do realise she's a post-op tranny, right?
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Misrepresentation on UK Channel 4 news on: September 02, 2011, 07:49:47 AM
Tonight's programme featured a section on the dark net, clearly using a press statement from the police as source material...

They highlighted Bitcoin as an 'anonymous' 'untraceable' currency used by traffickers of illegal goods. (A bit late to the misinformation party right?)

You can view it here:
http://www.channel4.com/news/catch-up/

or read the article version here:
http://www.channel4.com/news/dark-web-the-internet-behind-our-own

I've made a politely worded corrective complaint and request for a correction on tomorrow's show. Maybe a few more would make it a little more likely!

Where the hell do we send the complaint? That would kind of help because I've been looking for 10 minutes and cant find so much as an email address....
47  Other / Off-topic / Re: The story of Bold Funding. on: August 31, 2011, 07:49:04 PM
You know that bruce has publicly said that the 25k BTC he "lost" is nowhere near the total amount he actually owns.

What do you think the chances are that he shoved a load of the money he stole off people with his scams into Bitcoin and then if required he could tell a court he doesn't have the money so can't pay it back, and he legally wouldn't be lieing.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 BTC or the teddy gets it on: August 27, 2011, 08:28:49 PM
Just use the bribe to force a company to buy up hundreds of thousands of BTC, and you sell it to them at the raised price. Then just refund the coins back to them saying you changed your mind and short sell as they convert it back to $$.
49  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin world changing developments at the Bitcoin Stock Exchange (GLBSE) on: August 27, 2011, 12:48:25 PM
Thanks Satoshi.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I wish to create a currency on: August 25, 2011, 10:59:46 PM
Hey guys, I'd like to build a rocket.

I know nothing about rockets, or space.

Do you think NASA would help me make one?

Look since I'm getting many reponses like yours wizard,I'll make this official, there is NOTHING wrong with having a desire to learn programming to create a currency.it is NORMAL to ASK for help so that you can learn to then develop it yourself.I bet many people who created your currency bitcoin had help arrangements like I was planning and you don't attack them for it,yet whenever I do it,it's suddenly not ok.So where do I cross hte line?

I am NOT asking people to develop for me,I'm simply asking people to help in co-development like many of your favourite games, phones, software, currency e.t.c.If you can't understand this, then maybe you shouldn't be on this forum then should ya.Think before you speak please and we'll all be a lot happier.

You don't learn programming overnight, you WILL make mistakes and fail the shit out of anything you create until you have years of experience. How in the fuck can anybody have any faith in a currency like that. It's not a toy, it's not fun, its peoples fucking money.

This is like the manager of a bank getting his neighbours 12 year old son to code up the banks website for him because "he's a smart kid and knows how to make websites".
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I wish to create a currency on: August 25, 2011, 10:50:18 PM
Hey guys, I'd like to build a rocket.

I have no idea how to build a rocket and don't know that much about space.

Do you think NASA would help me make one?

54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mineing in Stealth on: August 25, 2011, 03:28:39 PM
For those of you that would like to run miners on work computers or friends / family's computers without causing them problems, ive just coded and released a new stealth runner application. Will run any program and keep it hidden after the computer has been idle for a set number of seconds, then end the application as soon as the user returns.

veiw this post for more info.

facepalm

awesome way to get people to accept bitcoins into thier lives... NOT

I spoke to friends and family, explained i was onto something great and could I hire some gpu power from them(enough to cover thier power costs + a little extra), most from there did some research and said "nah, but can you set me up" so I helped them get going in bitcoins.
What you are doing is not being a friend to people that are friends to you, hope you and others like you sleep well at night :S

erm its only while they are idle i.e. not at the computer so whats the problem...u jelly?
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Conference 2011 NYC on: August 25, 2011, 10:37:26 AM
Are all the people that think Amsterdam is a bad location from the US or something?

I'm from EU and yeah...never heard such crap. Amsterdam is fine, there is nothing wrong with weed or sex, and even if those things were bad it's still a great location, easily reachable from anywhere in Europe and the largest city in the Netherlands...

Seems like some people think the world revolves around America, and everything that their precious government says is correct. I recommend you leave your sheltered pathetic little lives for some time and see the world from outside your little box, you will find that actually the rest of the world thinks the US is a joke and your not the center of the world.

The value of Bitcoin is equal to the amount you would loose doing the transaction by other means.
