This is aimed at growing our network so the infrastructure would be
more decentralized, more reliable and more secure.

The idea of this project is similar to bitnodes project held in
bitcoin some time ago (now it has transformed into analytics though).
Anyone who has node (or who wants to create new one and join the program)

starting BGL Core (see instruction there,

Every week (1008 blocks) 10 nodes would be randomly picked that contain

moment it means that every new node would get this bonus, until network

Good question. I thought about it and formed an approximate BGL Roadmap, community is welcome to check and give advice:

Tactical tasks (approx. time):
- Stress-test (let's make transaction contest, rules would be announced soon) (September);
- Technical issues (unit tests, code sync with BTC codebase, automated builds) (September-November);
- Software (wallets) - we are going to make hackatons (October-November);
- Infrastructural growth (node growth incentivizing, as bitnodes did with goal of 5000 nodes) (October);
- Cross-chain and DeFi integration (WBGL for staking/borrowing and DEX);
- Framework/DAO for community governance for BGL public wallet and project (grants for project development);

Strategic priorities:
- Core team expansion and formation;
- Marketing activities, social media channels;

Hi Guys!

I think that DEX (uniswap) and staking protocols (compound) are a very interesting vector of project development. Do you have some ideas or advice on that topic? Do you know developers that can help to do something for BGL like wrapped BTC or maybe even someone can do it, please write your recommendations. I also will try to look how to achieve that.

There is of course a desire to get listed on Binance, let's work on this process. I am trying to think of steps required, and if someone wants to help, that would be really great!

I tried to inform the community as early as I could, using this forum from the very start of the blockchain. Some media coverage required a website of the project to be present, so it took some time, and thanks again guys who helped with this.

Here are few thoughts I wanted to share with you:

- I have read recently Peter Thiel, and agree with him on the point of 'why do start-ups always try to invent something completely new?'. He mentions 'last mover advantage', that the last player coming to market has a significant edge over competition - as he can study experience of the earlier actors. When Satoshi launched bitcoin, he didn't knew that computational powers involved in BTC infrastructure would reach this level of difficulty (and resource usage) (https://www.blockchain.com/charts/hash-rate - check logarithmic scale). And it was impossible to predict what transaction fees would be paid to miners (https://www.blockchain.com/charts/transaction-fees). Satoshi also could not predict (there were just no cases available) how the crowd would react to halving and token burn phenomena.
Now this network reached a certain level of maturity and based on this information BGL can try to be 'beyond BTC', basing on BTC success and solid foundation with no-nonsense approach of reinventing the wheel.

Also there are some good news: we have one more maintainer for the core repo and things will be moving hopefully on that side as well.

Even in bitcoin, the price in first years was pretty low, and take into account that initial distribution is going on right now.
I am not controlling or manipulating the price, this a very important thing, I don't consider this as project that belongs to myself.
Exchanges work on their own, miners and pools work on their own, code is open-source and on GitHub, so everyone is welcome to
participate. The next halving in BGL will be around next 7 months, and there is a lot of things to do.
Don't need to hurry, this is a long journey.

Talking about advertising, what lies within my reach, I'm trying to do.
If you have some ideas regarding promotion of the project, we can discuss and crowdfund the effort.

How to create and use bitgesell wallet:

1) Download wallet software from bigesell.ca
2) Backup your wallet.dat file, when you first start BGL, new address/key is created
3) Register on exchange
4) Buy bitgesell
5) Withdraw to your wallet address of 'bgl...'

If you install wallet on another device, replace new wallet.dat file with stored wallet.dat to
gain access to existing wallet. We would be providing mnemonic-supported wallet soon.

To sell BGL:

If you already have BGL, send them to address that exchange provides for BGL coins

How to mine Bitgesell:

1) Register on www.nicehash.com/
2) Top-up balance
3) Register on any of BGL pools (pool.bitaps.com or mining-dutch.nl)
4) Take note of pool settings. It looks like :
stratum: stratum+tcp://pool.bitaps.com:8888
workername: <your email>.worker1
password: x
5) Come back to www.nicehash.com/, to 'Marketplace', choose 'keccak'
6) Make an order for mining with your pool settings
7) If everything is ok, mining will start according to your order, as people will plug in their hashing powers on it
8 ) Go to pool.bitaps.com or mining-dutch.nl and do withdrawal after some mining rewards are credited to you by the pool.

How to setup a node of bitgesell:

1) Just download BGL-core software from bitgesell.ca
2) Launch it (graphical wallet or command-line BGLd)
3) Keep it working, it will sync automatically with the blockchain and find other nodes to be a part of network
(or even better you can run a node on a server to support the project, you can ask a Linux guy to help)
