561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to altcoins ? on: November 23, 2023, 07:06:43 PM

Well, I bought some fractions of Bitcoin at the price of $30K, ETH at $2,100 but unfortunately they have been going downward since then. The bearish trend in the whole market is still prevailing, which greatly impacts on coin prices. Despite the bear market, Bitcoin is still holding on its ground with its price not fluctuating over the top. However, the altcoins are becoming more volatile than before and I begin to doubt whether investing in altcoins is a wise choice. Did you invest in altcoins ? What do you think of the current altcoin market ? Please let me know.

That's crypto for you.  I know this is an older thread but in downtrend alts are volatile and even in uptrend they are very volatile l.  If you can't handle the swings then I think you need to step away from crypto.  Bitcoin for sure is your safest bet amd sounds like the place you want to park your stash at.

Football is a sport that's indiscriminate for one. In basketball, the game is predominantly littered with Americans who claim they are "the world champions" when they only won national competitions. Prejudice against certain races are also prevalent in this sport. With Chess, there's a certain air of elitism that prevents the average people from appreciating the sport and the competition, not to mention the fact that the game's so tense that if you didn't pick up Chess from when you're a kid, you literally stand no chance against the current state of the game.

Football on the other hand, is for everyone, literally. You got countries setting up their own leagues, and then international tournaments that are indiscriminate of any race and are supportive of whoever wins. We got loyal fans that are both degenerate in fanaticism, and while the sport's got its downsides, the ups make up for it so much that the whole football community's willing to overlook these.

Prejudice against certain races exist in the NBA please do tell.  Anyone with enough talent to play in the league has been accepted in.  Please tell me an example of this.  And Soccer you are telling me there is no prejudice anywhere...hahaha please.  If you really thing this you are ignorant or just don't want to see it to crush what your perception of Soccer really is.  Open your eyes

i have bad news for the lions Sad

since the afl/nfl merger, they are 0-12 (.000) on thanksgiving when the moon is in a waxing gibbous phase. tomorrow is a waxing gibbous

You think the Lions can overcome waxing gibbous?  Cheesy

LOL, people will look up anything!

They are looking like the Lions of the past though, I expect that to change soon.

BTW, K. Williams is on IR might want to move him out of your lineup. Wink

That's hilarious but honestly there are stats for everything.  I feel like stats kind of killed off normal known stats.  Baseball is the worst.  Good batting average, runs, rbis, etc and you are a good player.  Now they have stats for runs created, average adjusted for stadiums, etc.  Football same thing.  Yards, tds, etc.

3-0 last night bringing my 18 day total to 31-23.  A little separation from the books.  A lot of games on the books tonight and I like 3 homes teams here tonight.

Cavs +3.5 against Miami.  Think cavs clear here and actually win might take the ML.

Pacers -2.5 at home.  Haliburton is turning into a verified superstar (knicks whiffed on him).  Pacers keep rolling and dominate tonight

Hawks -1.5 at home.  Solid team at home they shoukd clear.

Good luck tonight everyone!

1-2 last night bringing my 19 day total to 32-25 against the book.  No games today all nfl football games. So as a Thanksgiving bonus my 3 bets will be football

Detroit -8.5 they finally have a good team and will be looking to blowout the packers today.  Detroit by 14+

Dallas -13.5 hurts to say cause I hate the Cowboys but they should manhandled Washington.  If the giants beat them up so should cowboys.

Late game gimme Seattle at home +7 against San Fran.  This shoukd be a tight game and see a field goal winning this one.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck to you betters tonight.

Injuries are the killer.  Having lost Chubb and Burrow in 3 different leagues, that was essentially the matter of life or death for me, however I do sit in 1st place in my 12 man keeper league where I've only lost twice. I lost both Chubb and Mike Williams in that league and somehow am 9-2.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone whom celebrates today.  Nice little 3 game slate we've got on tap starting here in a bit over an hour.  Maybe not the best games ever, but 3 games during the day on a Thrusday, I'll take it! Smiley

I have no clue why the Lions and Cowboys always play on thanksgiving but at least they are both not shit this year!

I'm going to gamble and play Howell against that brutal cowgirl Defense as I think because its a prime time game the refs will make sure the game is close till the end.

Don't know if this was a literal question but just tradition.  I think Detroit actually always played then cowboys "volunteered" to play as well so long as it's always a home game.  Been that way for 5-6 decades now.  Good luck Howell is hot or miss I'm with you because I need scary Terry to go off in my other league.  JJetas dissapointed me this year Sad

It's not really shocking, almost nearly all CEX's have had their legal or hacking issues.  Crypto is a breeding ground for scammers and the easiest place to do it or attack is at the exchanges.  Who knows how this all plays out but I wouldn't be keeping much money locked up on that exchange for awhile.

1-2 again last night, bringing my 17 total to 28-23.  Need to have a good night tonight.  Pelicans looked good way better than I thought they'd do.  Tonight here are my 3 picks:

Lakers -7.5 at home.  On TNT they shoukd be able to handle this game easily.

Pacers +3.5.  I know they are on the road against a tough Atlanta team but think they can pull this one out.

Magic -1.5 at home and basically a pickem.

Good luck tonight everyone!

Only four weeks remain on the regular season of our league, time sure flies, currently there are only three teams that are out mathematically from the playoffs, but realistically the three 5-6 teams should be out as well since at best they could get a 9-6 record, and since their PF are all lower than the PF of the teams at the top then they will require for one of the 8-3 teams to lose all their games or to lose at least three and then win the tiebreaker, not very likely if I must say so.

This leaves the two 6-5 teams as the only ones that are legitimately on the hunt, however after taking a look at the remaining games of each team I would think the Bit Bowlers and the Barbarians seem to have the hardest schedule ahead, with a key match taking place this week between the Barbarians and the Moon Coiners, with whoever wins it almost securing their spot to the playoffs, while the losing team will most likely have to battle to the end for the fourth spot with the Bit Bowlers and twEntiwan.

Nice Synopsis man!

I put a few satoshis down on the game last night.  For whatever reason I was feeling the Eagles, even though I think the Chiefs are the better team.  Getting the Eagles at +3 obviously meant I won my bet, only wish I had bet just a little bit more (per usual lol).

Going to be a fun week of games this week being the Thanksgiving Holiday and all.  3 games on Thursday and even 1 on Friday.  I think this may be the first "Black Friday" game the NFL has ever had...but maybe I'm wrong.

That was a nice win ypu must have cringed when ypu saw how open Marquez got open and then brick handed it lol.  I'm of the opinion with 3 timeouts left amd a little less than 2 minutes to go, eagles could have easily made their way down into field goal position if not driving right down for a td.  Eagles are legit right now.

KC WR corp is their weak point and it was seriously apparent when Kelce was hurt.

They need to address that if they want another Superbowl.

I agree, it is a nice synopsis South Park wrote up.  Makes me kind of depressed being one of those 5-6 teams they mentioned.  Injuries these past few years have really killed me.  The crazy thing is in 3 of my 6 leagues I'm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, with having lost many of the same players.  I lost Chubb and Burrow in multiple leagues and somehow kept winning.

Anways..it's utterly depressing that we are well in to the second half of the season.  To me there is nothing better than the beginning of fall, where football is just getting kicked off, the weather is still somewhat warm, but not hot, nor typically too cold.  Pumpkin spice everything..FUCK I love NFL Fall time so much.  Everyone enjoy what time we have left of the year!!

Goes to show depth drafting and really checking out the waiver wire sometimes ends up being the reason people win.  I'm convinced you need to nail at least 3 solid starters in round 10 and on or the waiver wire to win.  Injuries seem to be getting worse and worse every year. (Coming from the guy in last place Smiley 😀

A couple of good games airing on ESPN tonight as we roll into the holidays. First up the Bucks vs the Celtics. This should be a great game with 2 of the best teams in the league. Then we have the Suns vs the Warriors. I’m expecting the Suns to win this game easily as the Warriors have been struggling a bit, so it might be worth betting on.

Yeah can't wait for the Bucks celts game.  Might be an eastern conference finals preview early in the year.  Wanted to stick some money on the game but can't figure out which way I want to lean.  Might end up throwing it on the over and root for both teams offenses lol.  If I had to go with my gut I'd say celts and the money line.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 22, 2023, 10:40:07 PM
If I had a legal leg to stand on I mean yeah.  Now 9 years is long but well worth it in the end if you end up getting a quarter million usd.  And besides unclaimed lottery just ends up 100% in the hands of politicians and I would imagine end up being "misallocated" in a lot of countries.  But yeah definitely worth a fight if anyone owes you money.

1 win 2 losses last night bringing 16 day total to 27-21 against the book.  Couple good games tonight.  I've been riding the Knicks but they got a tough game tonight I'm laying off that game.

San Antonio +8.5 against the Clippers.  I'm not buying the clips they have yet to gel and barely got by Houston.  Taking the home dogs here.

Pelicans +1.5 at home.  Sac on a second night of a back to back.

Boston -8.5 against Hornets.  Hornets stink and Boston is rolling early, I like them here in a single digit odds game.

Good luck tonight everyone.

It’s not a good reason to hold back because his role was supposed to be dominating the paint not shooting 3s due to his height advantage. I know that some big man shooting nowadays but they dominate paint at the same time too like Chet.

Wemby on the other hand contributes a lot of turn over because he can’t secure properly the ball once he got it. He can’t be a good player design to right role for his height if he is afraid to have a contact since basketball is a physical sports. I remember reading an article which Coach Pop already stated that Wemby is avoiding a contact play.

https://www.sacurrent.com/arts/celtics-legend-blasts-spurs-popovich-for-not-getting-wemby-involved-on-offense-32981841
We do need to remember that this new age of big man are not really dominating the paint all that much, there are some like Embiid maybe, but Chet is like 100 pounds soaking wet, that dude is not going to dominate anyone. How do you reckon he could back people up, he doesn't have any muscle at all, he is not going to be able to post anyone up, he is going to be ruined down low if he goes there. Whereas, if he shoots threes, him and wemby have that advantage, it would be nearly impossible to block them, probably on three pointers attempted, they will have the lowest amount of blocked shots ever, and they are not even getting their faces covered neither, people can barely reach to that.

So they will have a clear shot to take, I believe that's a good thing for them. I think it would be smart to consider them as the most important part of their team, even with not going inside for post ups, they are still managing to find points and that's a good thing for them.

I know the game is changing and maybe I'm old but being able to guard down low is key for a big man.  In the playoffs specifically if ypu run into a team with a monster front court ypu are gonna get beat on the boards and paint points.  Unless ypu tear through the playoffs shooting the lights out, relying on the 3 ball to take ypu home usually runs into a wall at some point.  Have to imagine losing the rebounding advantage is a key determination of losing series.

As a Turkish person, I really got excited about the fact that Alperen played so well again, he is their highest scorer ppg, and he is not even using the most FGA neither, he is third, but his rate is so high. Plus, they gave him the last ball, so that he would go against the king himself, I do agree that Lebron may not be the greatest post defender in the world, but that is still such a big responsibility at such a young age, and not that he disappointed, he went ahead and scored that last bucket, that was an insane situation and definitely an experience that he will not forget anytime soon. I believe Alperen could be a great star one day if they keep using him like this, he just needs to take care of his foul troubles.

Yeah I like his game a lot.  Getting in foul trouble is an issue for a lot of younger players, they have a difficult time not reaching in.  Vets and guys who know the game know how to draw fouls and get guys in foul trouble if they seem a bit to jumpy.  Houston is building a nice little team.  Young but they should be a good team moving forward.

I mean yeah as long as you are winning.  But if you are down and riding the rails how would gambling receive stress?  Same thing with improves mood.  I'd say the opposite most of the times.  This seems to be referring to light entertaining gambling but this can't be thought of as the same as the everyday addicted gambler.

Another 3-0 day against the book making it 6-0 in the last 2 days.  Bringing my 15 day total to 26-19 finally clearing some space. Today I got 3 homes teams 2 dogs and one favorite.

Pacers -4.5 at home.  Think those will be a blowout 10-15 point win.

Cavs +3.5 against the Nuggets.  Hate betting against Denver but seems like a good place.  Nuts will have a tough time shutting down spina in this game.

Mavs +2.5 I know sacramento is playing well but I like Dallas at home.

Good luck tonight everyone!

577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will you sell Shib now? Am holding on: November 19, 2023, 09:45:21 PM
According to a recent Twitter post by @Finbold, a financial news and information platform, Shib has emerged as the most popular token held by Ethereum whales. Upon encountering this news via CoinMarketCap's news feed this morning, I had originally intended to sell my Shib. However, the announcement has led me to believe that Shib could perform exceptionally well this year. As a Shib enthusiast, I would encourage others to hold onto their tokens as we may witness prosperous times ahead, and our patience may result in significant reward.

How do they categorize popular?  I can think of a ton more tokens that are more popular.  Maybe the amount of tokens moved in a given time frame?  Numbers can be manipulated any which waynyou want them to look so I'd be weary on thinking shib is the most "popular" amongst eth holders.

Next bull run is getting so close and so it won't be bad if buy some low cap altcoins for it. I know that is risky step but what to do? Btc ether already pump a lot and my budget is low. I manage extra budget for buy those altcoins.so can you suggest some low cap altcoins name?

Please don't throw btc, Ether, bnb, doge, xrp names blindly (some people always suggest btc eth bnb xrp everywhere)

You seem to be here for the "get rich" part of it.  Well if ypu are dying to get your hands on what most likely is a pointless low cap coin go right ahead but most likely ypu will get burned or at best mirror bitcoins gaming but with much more risk toed to it.  There is nothing wrong with riding bitcoin to 1, 2 3 hundred thousand dollars.

Actually took theor defense in 2 of my leagues this week lol.

Rockets won 6 in a row and Clippers lost 6 in a row. Most people expect Rockets to win but I thought the exact opposite. This must be the game that both streaks are over. Rockets were close to win the game but Harden said the last word. He played like his Rockets days against Rockets ironically.
This Clippers should be in higher places, since that bad streak is over I believe they'll climb up fast. They promise so much with that roster. Harden is back to normal, Westbrook accepted his bench role, with Kawhi and George they should be in top 5 in the West.
I think his fight against Houston was quite breathtaking. They were very close to beating the Clippers with Paul George, James Harden and Westbrook, and James Harden wrote the fate of the match until the last second. With the last 5-6 seconds left in the game, James Harden took a step back from outside the line and made that three-pointer and won the foul. As I said, Houston could have had a chance for the Rockets if it wasn't for the foul, Houston put up a good fight until the last second of the game. James Harden haunted his former team with this three-pointer.

Harden does this against sub par teams takes advantage when he cans.  Still think this version of the Clippers barely hits .500 on the year, it doesn't seem like a solid team.  Just a bunch of good/star vets and trying to get them to all play well together.  Too many Chiefs if you ask me.
