81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 03, 2024, 05:18:46 PM
Lots of good games on today.  Coming off a winless night a couple nights ago I need to hit it big today.  Chasing the losses and doubling my bets.  Here is my 3 I'm on so far:

Nuggets -4.5 at home.  Seems like a suspect line but I will bite.  Nuts at home I will take em.

Lakers -6.5.  Just don't believe in the Nets.  Late season push Lakers win by double digits here.

Mavericks -2.5.  I don't like betting against the Rockets right now but they can't win them all.  Think Dallas matches up well here and break their run.

Enjoy the games and good luck!

Nice 3-0 sweep last night.  The only thing that sucked was the Knicks dropping a tough one against okcity.

Tonight I got 3 bets in:

1) Hornets +17.5.  Logic says Celtics destroy here but Hornets are home and I think they can keep this either close enough or backdoor a cover near the end of the game.
2) Pacers-12.5.  At home and against the Nets who are on the second night of a back to back.  Gimme the Pacers here.
3) bulls -2 at home against the Hawks.  Toss up game but since it's almost a pickem  give me the home team here.

Good luck everyone!

Another positive night 2-1.  Tonight I took some of the later games.  So far got 3 in.

1) Denver -15.5 at home against the Spurs.  Tough matchup for the Spurs, think jokic runs this game and they blowout the Spurs.

2) Clippers +3.5 away at the Kings. I still like the Clippers and this seems like a late season game that will be tight.  Give me the dog in this game.

3) Dallas-1.5 away against the Warriors.  I was actually going to bet the Warriors here but I just can't.  This seems like a home game they win but I'm fading them towards the end of the year.  Dallas to win here.

Good luck everyone and enjoy the games.

Wow that went bad 0-3.  Was hoping to nail the last game with the mavs shouldn't went with my gut on that one.  Those are the breaks.  Back at it tonight with 3 more:

Suns -5.5.  Clevland on the second night of a road back to back, give me so.e home cooking and the Suns.
Pelicans -4.5. Tough game but I like the home team here.  Pels beat a good orlando team tonight.
Pacers -7.5 on the road against a terrible Nets team.

Hoping for another sweep tonight (hopefully on the right side lol).

I don't think Oklahoma can be considered a championship team since it is just their beginning and they haven't even entered the playoffs with this core. A formidable team—yes,  we can say that—a championship? I don't really know. Yes, they are having a great season, which is a good beginning for them since everyone is waiting for this to come since they traded all of their superstars and gained a lot of round picks. Playoffs are a different environment; players with experience are more likely to win in the playoffs. That's why veteran presence is needed in these kinds of games. Just look at the Memphis Grizzlies and Kings last year; they got beaten by the Lakers and the Warriors, a team that possesses a lot of playoff experience.

But let's see if this year's playoff will be a different story. Can we see the Timberwolves and Thunder make it past the first round?
I think the Timberwolves and OKC might be able to advance past the 1st round of the playoffs as long as they don't face the Suns or Warriors. If they happen to face them, there's a big chance they'll be eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs. I believe these two teams can handle the Mavericks and Pelicans, but the Warriors and Suns are somewhat strong in my opinion.

Right now the Timberwolves would destroy golden state in a 7 game series.  Warriors might be able to win 1 maybe 2 but to win multiple games in a row against the wolves ain't happening.  Okc too.  The team they need to worry about is seeing the Nuggets in the conference finals.  Warriors aren't the same team.  Besides steph the rest of the squad is a shell of thoer former selves.  Their run is over.

Yeah I've lost money gambling but it has served as a source of entertainment so I don't regret ever knowing about gambling.  I think once somebody loses the enjoyment of gambling than that's the time you need to ask yourself if ypu should be gambling anymore.  I know people who have a pretty bad addiction they are dealing with and I'm sure those folks would tell you yeah they wished they never found gambling.  Probably going to get a lot of those split answers depending on each person's enjoyment factor or the success of gambling factor.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: April 01, 2024, 06:29:04 PM
Hi,

The development of gambling over the past years has brought with it many connections, as methods and types have evolved with the creation of more games. We can gamble on everything and in everything, and among the well-known things in our current time, especially in sports, is the emergence of individuals and sites specialized in gambling prediction and expectations and majorities rely on them before making their bets, due to the amount of information and recommendations they obtain from the site owners.

If you are interested in gambling on sports, do you rely on prediction betting sites? Why?
What is the most prominent site you rely on?

I gamble on sports and don't rely on any services.  For me personally I need to feel comfortable with the bet because I understand the risks involved.  That tends to leave me betting on games I understand and sports I follow so I can calculate trends, injury status, etc.  Also for me gambling is a form of entertainment, if I bet on sports I don't like to watch then I don't see the point in it for me.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 01, 2024, 06:26:36 PM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.

I think majority of people who are addicted to gambling is because they do not understand gambling as beginners, the rules and the side effects of playing gambling excessively.

I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.

These companies have a moral and sometimes legal reason to protect people from getting addicted and ruining theor lives but that conflicts with them being a for profit business.  Ultimately it's up to the individual to understand their own self.  If they are apt to get addicted to things easy they should just steer clear.  Everyone is responsible for theor own actions.

88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Seasonv on: April 01, 2024, 06:18:29 PM
I don't want to be rude but my personal opinion about Warriors this season is that they don't deserve to secure play-in tournament and I think it's because of how Draymond Green chose to play this season and also he tried a lot to simply ruin a lot of games for Curry. Now , this might be a very critique opinion but this is how I see the situation and hopefully they will prove me wrong but Rockets are flying right now and they don't seems to slow until they secure play-in spot.  Shocked

I mean regardless of who comes out on that line whether golden state or the Rockets they have to win 2 straight road games to get the 8th seed in the playoffs only to have to go on the road against a team like Denver.  Either way both of them will be cooked if they make it out alive of the play in games. I like this new format it makes runs like the Rockets made worth it.  If there was just 1-8 and no playin the Rockets would be so far out of position.  Keeps the end of the season spicy.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: March 31, 2024, 03:25:18 PM

What's your opinion on this? Do you think the "meme" coins craze will move the industry away from being a utilitarian one to a speculative one? Will the hype last forever? Do you think crypto will do fine with "meme" coins in the way?

Seriously I will say the hype will continue to raise over time for memecoins because the number of investors looking for those memecoins to get rich quick are definitely growing and currently they are more than those investors in this space than people solely investing for the utility sake. When you look at the whole trend of memecoins coming into a new ecosystem you will notice that some of this memecoins are incorporated just to generate more attention to that ecosystem just like how the Solana ecosystem is gaining a massive turnover by meme coin hunters.

I think developers will continue to tweak their ecosystem protocol to actually allow or accommodate the memecoins so yes this space will definitely do fine even if they continue to increase the number of memecoins

Memecoins are a zero sum game.  Some people yes will male money but they are useless and when something better comes put people will sell this crap so fast that people are going to lose millions of dollars in missed opportunity.  There are tons of memecoins last bull run and most of them are worthless even though they pumped at one time.  If you lose money in that game you kind of deserve it.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 31, 2024, 03:20:58 PM
I was just playing Hi-Lo, making small dollar bets, if it's 5 number card I select higher card and win, if it's 10 number then I go with 'low' and win.

Then I was greeted with Ace card, minimal possibility for equal card right (i.e, Ace), so I go all in, and guess what happens, the result is Ace means I lost the bet.

Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.

That's how they get you.  You can win win win and then in one bet they get all theor money back.  My rule of thumb is to never go all in, even if most times you'd win.  The odds you usually get don't favor you over the long run.  I know the feeling though, in the moment you think you got cheated, really your greed just got the best of you.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 31, 2024, 03:18:30 PM
Just imagine about what will happen if they could able to defeat Mavs and Wolves then continue their winning streak then provably with that they have huge chance to replace Warriors at 10 spot on standings. Although this is really though since that two teams is more stronger than them but who knows their hot streak will lift their confidence and they can able to surpass these two teams then can continue their winning streak.

I can't imagine that the Rockets will be able to pass the Mavericks. They met a couple of times this season and although the Rockets were able to defeat the Mavericks at one of those meetups, the Mavericks didn't have Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington in that game while the Rockets were playing at their full healthy lineup. The Timberwolves recently destroyed one of the top teams too, the Denver Nuggets, and they will be really a tough team to beat for the Rockets.

Confidence is not enough for the Rockets to win but as you said and I agree with, who knows?

If you are a risky bettor, you can put some extras betting on the Rockets' Moneyline and point spread. I'm sure the odds for them will be juicy.

I'm thinking the same thing.  I laid in on Dallas and believe it or not Dallas was still favored by 2.5 points.   Houston can't win every game from here on out amd I think these next 2 games might not go there way.  With a healthy Dallas team I just think it's a bad matchup for them.  Luka should cook today.

93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 31, 2024, 03:10:47 PM
When sports people retire, they do tend to gain some weight first. What happens later on is up to them, some let the weight get ahead and just keep on gaining more and more weight, some realize that they need to get back in shape and do better. I have seen too many sports people gain weight within 5 years of them retiring, doesn't mean it is a must because there are some who still keep their shape as well but it's common.

Weight is not an issue for Mikey because if you look at his videos now, he almost look the same but he age and he cannot hide that. We don't have to take this fight seriously, because obviously we know that Mike is already old and he'll likely lose. Jake is not just an ordinary boxers, he already fought a lot of boxers and beat most of them,  per record he only have one loss but in a split decision against Fury, so overall he is great.

now, my concern is whether Tyson will survive the 12 rounds, it was reported that it's only a 2 minute rounds so it's short but since Jake Paul is a heavy hitter, I doubt Mike will last. Again, I believe it's not about the weight/body but the age.

Definately the age.  Boxing requires tons of stamina it's not just how hard you hit but how long you can continue to do so at a damaging rate.  Mike's ego will make him fly out of the gate swinging.  If Jake can weather the first flurry of punches he will be fine.  It's sad because if they were both the same age this fight wouldn't even have gone off because Mike would likely have killed jake.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new meme coin help on: March 30, 2024, 08:52:38 PM
I m new here and, to be honest, I m just starting to figure things out. I stumbled upon something that has truly captivated me: PekinCoin. What particularly attracted me to PekinCoin is the rumor about a private Telegram server exclusively for private sales. It seems that this exclusive space offers its members access to unique information and opportunities, far from the public eye. The idea of such a select group, where the community can directly interact with the developers and have early access to certain offers, sounds incredibly appealing. But, here comes my question to you, my fellow crypto enthusiasts: is there anyone among you who is part of this private Telegram server and could share an invitation with an eager newcomer?

Sounds scammy to me.  Anywhere they have "exclusive" sales for means the inside people are looking to dump these on people for more eth or bitcoin.  Maybe it's just me but all of these memecoins to me are just alternate ponzi schemes.  They are built just to make more eth for people.  If you aremt on the inside you will just be the one left holding the useless bag in the end.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cutting my gambling costs to Invest some of it on the Alt and Meme Coins. on: March 30, 2024, 08:31:28 PM
Why I can only afford to invest in the highily volatile AltCoins and the MemeCoins is that the tokens are cheaper to purchase in a lot of quantities unlike bitcoin that's very expensive. Although it's agreed that one can invest on bitcoin with any amount of money but comparing the fractions or quantity, bitcoin is more quality and expensive.
So I'd only Invest on these Meme and the Alt Coins with my at stake funds supposing to be funded on my gambling. So I'd rather skip or cut my gambling stakes so that I can alternate it to Invest of the unreliable Coins which I'd also say to be it's highily risky to be sighted as gambling too.

You are looking at this all wrong.  Bitcoin being expensive is relative because it's fractionally.  I can find you a ton of cheap memecoins right now that are "expensive" because they likely have already peaked and are only going to go down.  If you buy a coin that only costs $.00001 each but goes down or bitcoin that is $70,000 each but only goes to.  Which one is more expensive?  Don't use that as your guideline.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 30, 2024, 08:29:15 PM
2-3 days ago the Atlanta Hawks made a very good comeback and won the game. They will play against Boston Celtics again tonight and I can't make any predictions for this game. It will be a fun game to watch. Let's see what the result will be.
They got complacent and careless the last time but I think the Celtics will get their revenge later to show that it was just a fluke. If you're still doubting them then this is probably your chance to get some for the Hawks since bookies have it  @1.08 for Boston and @8.60 for Atlanta. Hawks +10.50 also looks good @2.50

Dejounte Murray played a great game and was the game winner. The Atlanta Hawks surprised again and won the game in overtime.
As I said, it was a difficult game to predict, many people who bet on this game may have lost because of this game.

Yeah I don't know what the moneyline was on the Hawks but it had to be a huge payout.  I think the line was -15.5 for Boston. Boston always seems to throw up some stinkers every now and again.  In my eyes it's Boston and Denver and then everyone else.  Boston in a 7 game series is going to be incredibly hard to beat.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 29, 2024, 02:19:37 PM
Some surprising type games last night.  What is up with the Celtics losing a prime time game against an undermanned Hawks team??  I know they can lose any game but that one was bad.  They lose weird games

And tonight the Knicks play and keep rolling.  Sitting in the 3 hole with the Bucks losing there is a real shot they can take the 2 spot.  Weirdly enough if they won the first round I'd rather they faced the Celtics in the second round then the Bucks (assuming they both won).  Knicks could never figure out how to contain giannis and its a bad matchup.  Either way excited for the last but of the season to wrap up.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 29, 2024, 02:16:39 PM
There are multiple rules I live by.

1) if a line looks too good to be true, it is!
2) if I am winning that game and it's pretty much a given but I want to bet in game live I won't bet more than 50% of my projected profit so that no matter what I come out a winner with the possibility to win more
3) this is a big one, I don't bet single one shot things like ball/srime on next pitch in baseball, 2pt or 3pt for next shot in basketball, pass/run next play for football.  Too easy to lose too quickly
99  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Question: How many physical bitcoins have been created? on: March 29, 2024, 12:51:37 AM
You quite possibly will never get the true estimate.  Lots of makers have made prototypes or weren't for public release and unknown as to how many of a certain coin has been made.  I applaud your effort and would be interested in seeing the depth of coins from some makers.  I can try to tally up how many I've made over the years.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Shiba inu get to $1 on: March 28, 2024, 09:47:34 PM
Don't be rediculous it can literally never reach $1.  There is not enough fiat value in the world to get it to $1.  People need to start looking at supply and marketcap..it's a real thing!  Anyone who thinks shib could ever reach a dollar doesn't know anything about economics.  For shib to reach a dollar it would have a marketcap of 580 Trillions dollars lol.  To put it in perspective shib would be worth 50× more than all of the gold in the world lol.

You also have to look at things with an open mind, tokens can be burn easily and the teams can decide to burn some of the supply of Shiba Inu. Exchanges can decide to burn tokens through using some part of the trading fees that they get from trading Shibu Inu to burn some tokens. It literally takes the decision of some top individuals to make Shiba Inu to become valuable. Binance exchange was burning Luna coin from the trading fees to reduce the supply, same thing can happen to Shiba Inu.

With the total supply of Shiba Inu, achieving the $1 mark looks impossible but things can be done and we might see it trading at $1 in the future. Nobody also believe Dogecoin will be trading at the price it's trading now. Don't doubt anything in the market as anything is possible here. Things don't work the same way they work in the real world as I have seen some individuals make impossible amount of profits.

Still no.  Exchanges aren't going to burn that many coins for "free" and the team isn't going to burn anymore either.  It literally can never get to a dollar, it's basic economics.  It would outpace all of the fiat in the entire world combined lol.  It's a memcoin that's basically useless.  I would be surprised if it's gets any higher from here to begin with.  Maybe if bitcoin bulls it can run a little but you are talking literally an insane number.  That's like me saying bitcoin can get to $1,000,000,000,000,000,000 because "you never know".
