I've already got 24 tickets for the next Lambo. If I can keep this up for the remainder of the 6 months, I might actually have a "decent" chance. Not that my chances are over 0.02%, but still...
That's awesome since you still have a better chance than some people but i hope you're keeping your buzz level in check because contest like this usually increases gambler buzz level and i hope understand perfectly how to gamble profitable though.
I lost quite a lot of money in the last two days before the last Lambo, so I have to rebuild now and my bets are not so big. At the moment I even have to play with 2 satoshi base bet. I was playing with 2000 sats before and I could only double 11 times. That didn't last too long hahaha.

But it's all fun. If I were to lose everything, I will eat just as much that day and sleep just as well that night. Too many people are betting with what they need to survive, that's very dangerous.

The sad thing about this lambo lottery that we do not really hear from the winner at all, maybe this second person would show up, the first one was basically AFK and didn't come in or talked at all which is why we never really know if he picked Lambo or money or what he did, the second on I hope would at least be a bit better and show up, so we could congratulate and actually have a discussion. This way it is just "I hear someone won" and just guessing game.
Well, not everyone that uses frebitco is on this forum...

I got a quick question, BTC rose over 12% today so how late can the winner of golden ticket draw decide to go BTC or the Lambo
The website says this:
Quote
The winner can also opt to receive US$200,000 in lieu of the car, paid in bitcoins using the exchange rate after the lottery drawing has been done.

It's a bit vague, but on the same page, it says they won 24.71708210 BTC so I guess if they managed to sell right after winning they already have $220k now Shocked

It is difficult to evaluate the positive/negative effect of such an advertisement.
But I think you heard what you wanted to hear. If you have no relation to astrophysics, then you are unlikely to be interested in scientific research by Howard, for example.

I think that's actually a really good point.  If this were a forum about model trains, would we naturally assume that the average member of the public will take an interest in that every time a particular character talks about it?  Because, having watched a lot of that show, I can guarantee they've talked about model train collecting on far more occasions than they've talked about Bitcoin.  And I certainly don't feel any particular inclination to get involved with model train collecting just because they talk about it on the show.

It might be more realistic for people in this thread to take their excitement down a notch.
I don't think everyone who watched the show will become a fanatic trader etc, but for a group of those people, the word Bitcoin now sounds just a little less extravagant. It brings it just a tiny bit closer to the world they can relate to. Next time they are in a conversation and Bitcoin comes up, instead of just zoning out, they can say "oh yeah did you see that episode of BBT?". That will make them feel like they are somehow included in the group of people who know about Bitcoin.
And just maybe, if they're anything like me, they will start drunk philosophical conversations with their friends about what it all means etc and start Googling and learning. But I doubt that would be a majority Cheesy

How long do you reckon it'll be before the results are in? Will the 12th block need to be mined first?

No tickets for me on this Lambo. I just am a bit more careful this period more than usually so. Anyone fancy their chances?
I have a 0.005% chance to win, according to the website... I have around 275 tickets now. Would have had a lot more if I hadn't been overeager and playing martingale with 2000 sats base bet. That went well for an hour or so, but I could only double 12 times and that wasn't enough.
Honestly I always get free tickets thanks to my affiliates and never won anything, that has been going on for about 4 years now, and I do not mind. Few years ago I had my own faucet rotator (when faucets were a big thing) and got myself a lot of affiliates in many faucets and only this place still stands, all others either closed or all my affiliates left, only this place still has my affiliates either gambling or claiming free or whatever and I end up with something.

Considering this has been going on for a while I assume I had a total of millions of tickets between all weeks and never won anything. Does this mean I should stop hoping? I will never stop hoping and will try to keep on wishing one day getting something. Even if I win just once and be in top 10, it would definitely worth all the wait.
Definitely true. I don't have any affiliates, I somehow think that the golden ages of doing that have passed.
I'm just doing it all on my own and so far it's been a bumpy road. However, after the big crash, I started treating all my digital assets as 'lost'. If I lose literally every satoshi, that will suck, but it won't be costing me any more money than it already has.
That means I also don't really care if it builds up really slowly, or dimishes, because it's not money that I intended to spend in the supermarket next week.

That said, if a win like the 200k comes along, I'll gladly reconsider my point of view Cheesy

So I lost a huge amount of money because the Multiply lost 18 times in a row Cheesy
At least the high stakes were good for my Lambo tickets! I really kinda need this now, so if you guys at freebitco could just make sure I win, that'd be great Cool
52  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Belgische fiscus en inkomsten uit crypto on: April 27, 2020, 06:31:38 PM
Hallo,

Ervaring welkom!

The episode aired Nov 30, 2017. Less than two weeks later, BTC broke the 15000 euro mark. Coincidence? I think not!  Cool

I have a question about the Betting part of Freebitco.

I bet on the BTC price for April. Obviously, the month isn't over yet, but I can't see the April betting page anymore. At the bottom of the page there is an overview, but that is now also not accessible/visible.

Is there a place where I can see all my bets and their respective results, as a sort of 'betting history'? I remember placing a bet on a soccer game quite a while ago and I would like to have an overview of all my bets ever placed.

I'm probably just not looking in the right place, but any help is appreciated. Also, the opportunity to be notified of the bet result by email could be a nice addition to the service. Most betting websites offer this and I don't think it would be too hard to implement? Alternativerly, some sort of in-site message or pop-up could display the final result of the bets placed.
At the moment, it's a bit "place your bet and if you win, you might notice your balance going up" and I think there's room for improvement there...?
Have you tried clicking on the Select Category drop down menu under the Betting tab. You'll see that there are Expired, My Bets and My Expired Bets.

I also noticed that there is no betting on the Bitcoin price this April even though the month is not yet over. Maybe you will see the result when the month is over as Bitcoin Price - March.

It's a good idea to get notified when a betting event ends or if we just hit our bet. But for me, it's okay to be notified here on the website itself and not even by email.
I did see this after posting.
However, my earlier soccer bet didn't show. So it's probably a pretty recent list of expired bets..

The April BTC price is in the Pending bets list at the moment. I guess it makes sense to disable bets once the end of the month is coming closer, but I think there are better ways to visualise this.

Notification through email could be optional, a box to tick when placing the bet. That's how most big sports betting websites work and I think it's pretty convenient...
55  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 11:50:44 PM
I am not buying what they claim, do you seriously think that only 4632 people lost their lives due to this pandemic in China while the rest of the world is struggling to contain the spread and around two hundred thousand people lost their lives in the past few months and the numbers keeps on increasing daily, if they really contained the virus they must know something where the rest of the world is unaware. I am going into the conspiracy of China creating the virus but how they were able to contain the virus and what are the real figures on the number of patients and their treatment methods and how many lost their lives.
I do agree with most of this, but a lot depends on how you count your deaths as well.

For example, Belgium has a huge amount of deaths per capita, but they take into account any suspected death. About 50-70% of their deaths was not confirmed by tests.
Different countries have different ways of counting and it makes it very hard to compare...
56  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 10:55:20 PM
My problem with the "corona came from a Chinese lab"-theory is figuring out what China gained from it. People in my village are avoiding the Chinese restaurants, just because they heard on the news that the virus came from China. Obviously, this wouldn't be a real concern, but you get the gist.

One thing I could believe is that it was an accident after a contamination in the Wuhan lab where they might have been experimenting with variations of the SARS virus. This happened in the original SARS epidemic as well, scientists who were trying to find a cure got infected and spread it (albeit in very limited amounts).

Either way, China wouldn't gain anything from disabling the world economy. On the contrary, if the world economy is doing bad, an export country like China is going to be among the worst hit. I think that might be the big blow to the Chinese economy.
Everyone is buying the FFP2 masks that are being produced in China now, but every country in the world is reconsidering outsourcing to a faraway country, China being one of the biggest. The "Made in China" label will probably be less common in the next decade or so. They survived SARS and MERS, but I'm not sure if they will survive COVID.

I'm sure they'll recover, though, and their experience with the first wave will probably help them cope with the second wave better. I am sure that there will be a second wave once global air travel is allowed again, but I don't think China wouldn't be able to cope with that. And if they're not, no one will know about it....
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Day when Big Bang theory gave Bitcoins a free commercial on: April 26, 2020, 10:34:15 PM
It's not like everyone will be buying BTC because of it, but it helps. Not only to get more people involved, but also to de-criminalize crypto in the minds of many people.

They're one of the few shows doing that, though.  It's a refreshing change of pace that Big Bang Theory used Bitcoin in a socially-appropriate context.  As opposed to quite a few other shows that have a strong tendency to mention crypto primarily in a criminal setting.
True that. It's a shame. But I try to look at it from a positive side. I bet that episode has caused a lot of google searches. Unfortunately, a lot of these people have read negative things about crypto. One must not forget that crypto currencies are in fact being used for illegal stuff.
But I think a lot of people have learned about the good things crypto has done. And every time the episode is watched on online platforms or broadcasted on TV channels around the world, more and more people will become used to hearing about BTC and other crypto in their daily lives. So in the long run, I think it's a good thing and I can only hope that more shows will involve crypto into their storylines somehow.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Day when Big Bang theory gave Bitcoins a free commercial on: April 26, 2020, 10:17:16 PM
I think it's important that crypto becomes known to the greater public. Just a simple mention of it in shows like BBT mean a lot of people who have heard of it but didn't really know what it was all about started googling and learned more.
Is it necessary for more people to buy crypto? Definitely. Will these little things make that happen? It's not like everyone will be buying BTC because of it, but it helps. Not only to get more people involved, but also to de-criminalize crypto in the minds of many people.

When I talk about crypto to the people in my daily life, a lot of them think it's all about buying weird stuff on the dark web and they're scared of it. If it becomes more common to talk about it, it will benefit the general opinion of crypto.

My first phone was a Nokia 5110, got it for my birthday when I turned 12.

After a few years, my dad bought me a Nokia 3330 and I was so angry because I wanted a 3310 or a 3210.

My absolute favourite was probably the Nokia 8210. So small and elegant!

I also remember getting a Blackberry because I didn't believe in touchscreen technology :')
