2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lightning network node on: July 16, 2023, 05:48:21 AM
I recently synchronized a lightning network node using umbrel application store, I have already fully synchronized my bitcoin node, and opened a random channel with another user in the mempool, my difficulty when I generate a new address for deposit via lightning network, when I transfer from another wallet Lightning wallet always gives error when routing the payment, can someone help me how to solve this?

you most likelye need to open more channels with other well connected nodes if you are having issues routing the payment.
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: July 16, 2023, 05:17:55 AM
I would recommend Blink (formerly BItcoinBeachWallet) available for ios and android and app gallery  https://www.blink.sv/
It says that Blink is unavailable some countries app stores, including the US  Roll Eyes
I like that they are supporting Stablesats, USD equivalent that is much better way of holding some kind of stablecoins but without having to deal with shitcoins.
So far I didn't try it but I might give it a go to see how it works, but if I understand correctly this is custodial LN wallet.

You are correct it's a custodial bitcoin ln wallet gaining popularity in latam. Not available in U.S due to Blink not operating (having a legal company set up in the U.S) regulation is not clear for them to want to hop in plus its costly and there are recent U.S companies shutting down like https://unbanked.com/unbanked-will-be-winding-down/ , so it appears the U.S might be losing some ground here.

Quiero enviar mis fondos a bitcoin core.

You should lower the fees for upgrading to level 2 and level 3 .
It costs like 800$ with current eth price just for the upgrade
it is ridiculous!!!

I concur with this issue.

16  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin ATM Business for sale london uk on: January 03, 2021, 02:46:49 AM
We have a record of sales which we can show any potential buyer. The machines sell bitcoin and litecoin. We are easy to find on google and coinradar. We currently charge 17.5 percent per transaction.
I did a quick search for that area, I found many Bitcoin ATM machines so it is difficult to charge 17.5 percent per transaction.
Are there some taxes, insurance, and other expenses?

If we ignore all of this and assume that it is zero and there are no other costs.
Suppose, for example, that we charge 5% to 10% fees that make sense.

5%:   120,000*10% - (150*2*12) =  8,400/Year.
10%: 120,000*5% - (150*2*12) = 2,400/Year.

So I need 2 to 5 Years to make profits.

15000 pounds look like an exaggerated number.

We have a record of sales which we can show any potential buyer.
Did you ask any clients before using their data commercially?

in the bitcoin ATM industry operators charge between 10%-25% more of what the current bitcoin price is. Operators gotta make some $$ plus BTMs are a really convenient fiat on ramp / off ramp. Thats what you are paying for. No need to wait for an exchange or open an account with an exchange, your bitcoin, when you want it.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi on Bitcoin on: January 02, 2021, 09:14:45 PM
What are your thoughts? Will "De-Fi" become popular on Bitcoin as ETH's fees rise all the way to the moon? Or will smart contracts on Bitcoin become a "failed experiment"? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

Nope, don't think Bitcoin developers are interested in those bullshit as that's what they're. Bitcoin is the best defi project you can see in the space, why then do it have to give opportunity to project that won't have been able to stand on their own to used the influence of bitcoin to hyped themselves and probably scam millions off the market.

Bitcoin can't start competing with ethereum to be the head of a concepts that has failed. Bitcoin has never been hacked successfully, the only exploit that happened years back when the network was still new was handled perfect without any lose been recorded unlike the uncountable hacked occuring almost monthly on the defi platforms.

Some platforms even gets exploited more than ones. If ethereum fails which the fees are already showing, we have others blockchain that'll step up to replace ethereum like tron etc.

This is probably not to place to argue over ETH but it must be said that Tron overtaking ETH is like as far as pluto is from Earth. That most likely will not happen. Eth has so many more developers and traction than tron.

anyways, exciting times ahead for btc.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi on Bitcoin on: January 02, 2021, 09:10:00 PM
How is DeFi on Bitcoin!? (really asking) I wish there was as many defi applications on btc as ETH.
its already posted above , its posible for btc to have a defi but the process may not be as easy as eth defi , this can also be the reason why they didnt bother to experiment and create one  because if there are , they already announce it before during the hype of defi begins . btc is already doing well and we dont want that to disrupt that by introducing new features that could gone wrong . we know defi and if you want defi there are many of them on the eth platform , arent you contented on them ? dont tell me you already tried them all

Gotcha, No, I haven't tried them all, but I have tried most of them. I suggested people should develop defi on btc because it would make it more attractive than what it currently already is. It's okay if btc stays the course, so long as improving doesn't stop because or else the threat of losing their lead may become real. I still think all other projects are light years away but one doesn't have to grow complacent.

Anyways I hope more devs join in !! I am slowly learning some code. But still far from contributing significant code, although I hope I get their soon.
