1  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you handle pain? on: December 10, 2020, 06:58:43 AM
I am one of many who seems to have chronic pain. I refuse to take painkillers because of what they can do to my body.
I am basically stuck using ice and heat. I don't have a bathtub so I don't have the option to use things like Epsom salt.
My pain is in my lower back, shoulders, and neck.

What do you do to handle pain?

You can visit your doctor to check on you since you mentioned that you are experiencing chronic pain and to recommend the best alternative painkiller for your condition. There are may painkillers available in the market. Chronic pain is really hard to manage and it might be a sign or a symptom of a disease or there is something wrong with your body so try to consult first to your doctor. But if really dont want to, and you are finding a non pharmacologic alternative, try having a massage, acupuncture
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Covid 19 Where it Come from? on: October 14, 2020, 05:41:09 AM
First case was recorded from Wuhan, China and says that it was originated from there. The conspiracy whether it is a genetically-engineered virus is not yet confirmed due to lack of evidences. Many studies published now claimed that it came from a bat which possess a human to human transmission. But no one knows the truth about this or the scientist created this keep on hiding the truth. Being a novel virus, the world has limited and inadequate knowledge for now, but with the help of science we will know the truth and scientist will able to develop vaccine to win against this virus.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and how to rank up easily on: October 13, 2020, 05:28:15 AM
I have an old friend in this forum who has been here for a while now and have witness so many development on the frorum,  it was easy to rank up on this forum when the merit system was not in place all that was needed then was to have sufficient Post's with certain amount of activities to rank up on all level and ranks. But with the introduction of the merit system the power is now in the hand of the member of the forum and how good and informative you posts is that will be worth some merits.
So my advice to us newbies on the forum is to create good and quality contents, high quality Posts and create thread that add value to the forum.

Thanks for this. A great and motivational advice for a newbie like me.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which company's phone and laptop do you use? on: October 12, 2020, 05:32:24 AM
There are so many companies that are always running with good technology performance.
I use phone from the company Xiaomi with my laptop Asus company. Shocked
Otherwise i haven't encountered any problems yet.

and you?? Roll Eyes

Back then, I'm a fan of samsung. My phone was samsung for the last 6years and I also had samsung laptop like 10 years ago when they release their laptop models. I observed that it heated alot and damaged the mother board of my laptop causing blackout to both of my phone and laptop. Currently, Im using phone from Apple. I know it's expensive and not that practical considering its specs and feature but I found it very handy and classy plus in my school almost all of us use the same brand of phone so its easy for us to transfer files and documents. However, Im currently using Acer for my laptop. It's a very old model but it still works. Sometimes in choosing what's the best kind and brand of gadgets suits us, we need to know first the main use and consider some factors like the environment and the budget as well.

That's where I traveled and took sand. Where else should I travel?

Twitter https://twitter.com/5Ksana

When everything goes back to normal, try to travel in Asia. Here are some of my recommendations:
1. Palawan, Philipppines - considered as the most beautiful island in the world. It has alot of wonderful beaches, famous underground river, lagoons and lakes, and amazing views.
2. Philippines- being an archipelago, it offers alot of tourist attraction and every island and places have their own uniqueness. A bucketlist worth it place, really.
3. Maldives- outstanding beaches and hotels. Good for your sand collections.
4. Indonesia- beaches and other attractions
5. Thailand- beaches and other attractions
6. Japan
7. South Korea
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if Corona Virus lasts forever? on: August 11, 2020, 10:58:26 AM
There are potential vaccines that are now being develop and currently under series of clinical trials to test its safety, efficacy and quality. There is a low possibility that it could last forever but the chance to win against this virus is higher. Scientists are not stopping in finding a cure/ prophylaxis. But if it lasts forever, the new normal will also lasts and the world will adopt to it even it is difficult and it will really take time.

11  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do with a barking dog on: August 10, 2020, 02:52:21 AM
My German Sheppard "Doc" is a family member to us.  He is getting old now- 5 years of age and obese for his age.
He now is barking all the time and not sure what to do.   I do not want to put him down because it would bring much sadness for my family.

What do you do for your barking dog?

Check your dog and you can say "quiet" but be careful not to shout or yell to him since it might think that you are barking along with him. Check also the environment, there might be people passing or other animals that he's barking on. But if he keeps on barking without any reason, it must be a red flag that he needed a medical help . If so, seek your veterinarian immediately.

13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Getting rid of ants on: August 08, 2020, 03:49:09 PM
Have the same problem here. I'm now using a insecticide spray to get rid of ants. It was quite effective but the disadvantage is I can't spray it into utensils and areas near foods. So better to make sure that you don't left any food or any leftovers since it can attract ants. Also, clean your kitchen frequently and organize and store your foods properly and neatly.

Next, Knives Out which was released on 2019. It has also a great plot twist that would enable you to really think who is responsible for the murder. It has also an unpredictable flow of the story.

+1, really has some good twists, never gets boring and I had some good laughs from the irony, also great cast and all marvelous in their roles.

Didn't know Game Night and The Invisible Guest but will look for them, ty.

Here are a few more movies I've seen recently:

Hotel Artemis - dystopian thriller with a great cast

Ready or Not - don't watch it if you're going to marry soon  Grin  Seriously one of the better movies I've watched this year, love the role and play of Samara Weaving.

The Hunt - some nice twists and turns, you're not going to know where it is heading until the end, think it was mentioned in the WO thread when it came out.

365days - every minute watching this softporn nonsense was a total waste. I actually only watched it because it has upset our local women rights activists/feminists so much and I wanted to know what the fuss is all about. It's a bit like 50 shades of grey for millennials and even bad at that.

Thanks for your suggestions. Will try to see all of them. By the way, can't wait to know your reactions with game night and most especially to invisible guest.

I loved Game Night, great movie and a lot of good laughs ("Honey - you just sewed my shirt to my arm..").

Invisible Guest is a great piece of cinematic art, I loved how the parents got justice after all. One of the best movies I watched recently.

Should not miss the credits part of Game Night  Grin it was so awesome. By the way, Ready or Not probably should not be watched if you're going to be married soon because you might really overthink. I can't find a copy of your other suggestions that's why I didn't watch it yet but I'm still searching for it.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some of your favorite PC games? on: August 08, 2020, 12:39:28 PM
I'm really into challenging puzzles and solving mystery games. It stimulates my brain function to be a faster thinker and I really enjoy playing it. One of the best I want to share is the Mystery Case Files Games especially the one which is the Return to Ravernhearst(which I can play this again and again). I also love to play Life is Strange. It was a must to play game too.

Sometimes I feel like I want to drive a truck that's why I also love playing Euro Truck Simulator.
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you do when the weather is very hot? on: August 08, 2020, 11:13:26 AM
I usually use a fan or an aircon to help me overcome the situation. Also, I try to wear cottony and soft sleeveless clothes to make it more fresh. And also try to have some refresehments like a cold water, cold fresh fruit juices, ice cream or anything that is cold. Shower or swimming is also a best option.

My freezer is full with ice cream too  Grin

In times of home office I can just walk around in shorts which is awesome. Personally I keep all windows closed and lower all blinds. It's just to hot to go outside with 35 degrees, I wish i could move in the basement during summer.

I have the same thing and also, ice cream  lightens the mood.  Smiley

There are many evidences that can prove that this virus is real and it infects million of people around the world. New reports and actual hospital footage proves that it is real. Don't wait for the moment that you become infected just to prove that it is real. It is always better to secure your health and follow the protocols to avoid catching this virus. New reports and some studies shows that cure or a prophylaxis for this is still not yet developed so better secure and stay healthy.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sleeping on: August 06, 2020, 10:00:40 AM
I sleep more than 8 hours a day and it really feels so good but sometimes makes me crave for more sleep. Some studies shows that sleeping more than 8 hrs a day makes you crave for more sleep that's why it is advisable to sleep for 6-8 hrs a day.
