1  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Getting Connection on: May 16, 2012, 03:32:09 AM
Hi all,

Sorry for asking a ton of questions on the forum but I'm really excited about my miner! I want to put my miner downstairs in my basement however there's no wired internet connection down there. I would have to buy another modem and pay the additional monthly fee (which I'm not doing...). So is there a way I can either make my wifi into a wired connection (some kind of reverse wireless router) or maybe add wireless to my miner?

Thanks!

Thanks. Would this work with BAMT?

3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / How much power? on: May 14, 2012, 09:32:03 PM
GPU: 5830 x2
CPU: AMD Sempron
Motherboard: ECS A885GM-A2

NewEgg's calc says over 600w but that doesn't seem right to me...

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a budget BAMT compatible mobo. I found this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135272

Has anyone used it? Is it compatible with BAMT? I want to order it by 5/30/12 for the rebate. Thanks!

Yes! Change monitor limits in bamt.conf!

What should I change it to?

Okay I changed the monitor limits but it still doesn't work. I did change them all to 0 though so it passes but it still shows the fault error.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / BAMT Help on: May 12, 2012, 06:39:21 PM
Hi everyone,

I posted this in the mining section and it didn't get a lot of responses so I'm trying again. Whenever I try to mine in BAMT I get the message:  "A fault has been detected on GPU 0". I'm using a 5770 and not overclocking. Sorry I'm a newb in this field. Thanks!

This only happens when I attempt to mine if that helps.
Reduce your overclocking.

I'm actually not overclocking. It's my first setup so I'm just trying to see if everything works.

How can I fix this? I have my GPU (the fans are running on what sounds like blast) but the error appears in he background. Why?
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Configuring BAMT pools.conf (Slush's pool) on: May 12, 2012, 02:37:15 AM
Hey guys,

I'm new to BAMT and Bitcoin mining. Can someone explain to me how to configure the file? Can I just put the url in the config file? If so, how can I determine my url.
13  Bitcoin / Mining support / BAMT Help on: May 12, 2012, 02:08:35 AM
Hello,

I'm installing BAMT for the first time and need help configuring my GPU. It says on the screen that I can use autoconfig. What is that? I was planning on just editing the bant.conf file but anything easier would be great. Thanks!
14  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Turning on motherboard? on: April 26, 2012, 11:06:32 PM
Hey guys,

I'm assembling my first mining rig and I have all the key parts connected. Except I don't know how to turn on the motherboard! Can someone please tell me how I can turn on my Foxconn M61PMP-K AMD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186189&Tpk=m61pmp). Thanks! I really need your help.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Other uses for a miner? on: April 25, 2012, 01:47:02 PM
Out of curiosity, what are some other good uses for a miner you guys have thought of. Outside of of course a gaming PC?
16  Bitcoin / Mining / BAMT Questions on: April 23, 2012, 11:28:08 AM
I have a couple of (newb) questions about bamt:

1) Do I need to install drivers or anything else or do I just plug in the USB edit the confit files and go?

2) How do I know what numbers to use to safely overclock?

3) Once I configure the pool file I'm done right?

Thanks, and sorry for such newb questions.
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best Mining OS on: April 23, 2012, 03:00:51 AM
See what I'm planing on doing now is just installing Ubuntu on a flash drive and the running like DiabloMiner or Phoenix or something easy like that. I feel like BAMT may be a good long term to thing to expiremtn with or maybe try if I get a second rig but I'll stick with something easy the first time unless there is some horrible reason I shouldn't (which if there is... please tell me!).
18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best Mining OS on: April 21, 2012, 06:00:16 PM
BAMT is the easiest to use. Very easy to setup also.

Are there detailed instructions for setting it up? Sorry, I'm new to this whole process.
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Best Mining OS on: April 21, 2012, 04:03:02 PM
I'm planning out building mining rig and am considering an OS to install. I don't really have much experience with all of this so I was thinking I could just install Ubuntu on a usb drive and mine from that. I've read about LinuxCoin but it just seems to complex for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well I may invest in an additional one in the future. Can the power supply I'm using handle two?
