condition and are very sharp.

Thank you very much !

I'm running 2 Cards, on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and have a Silverstone Strider 1500w PSU
Do you use stock coolers? In auto mode or on 100% rpm?
I can't get, how do you keep temp at 68C.
My cards are separated with pci-e risers and heat up to 75-80C.
What software do you use for OC, MSI AfteBurner?

My 5850s are the sapphire xtreme ones, stock coolers running at 65-70% fan depending on the days temp, running at 100% will kill its life time

I'm using sapphire trixx for the OC, not sure why you are getting such high temps, maybe your OC software is automatically bumping the voltage.

I'm getting 406mhash/s with my sapphire xtreme 5850 @ 975/300 no voltage change, operates around 68 degrees C
Do you have 1 card only?
I have 6 sapphire xtreme 5850 and the best card works stable @ 875/300 (the worst works @ 800/300), how did you made it work @ 975MHz ?
What OS do you use (Linux/Windows 32/64bits)?
What PSU do you use?

5  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5830's, what mh/s are you getting? on: August 11, 2011, 12:35:50 PM
my 5830's running at 343mhash/s clocked at 1060/370 stable and temps don't go higher then 56ish

7  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Howto Setup a 5830 rig ? on: August 03, 2011, 10:17:20 PM
are those core speeds you guys have, are they the upper limit to the 5830 ?

also great help so far, thank you
8  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Howto Setup a 5830 rig ? on: August 03, 2011, 10:58:16 AM
I'm new to mining and I'm wondering what the best settings for a 5830 are.

I'm currently testing one 5830 @ clocks 975/300 with phoenix miner with phatk kernel with 3% mod

with the following arguments VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=7

Running windows 7 x64, 11.6 drivers, 2.1 sdk, i can only get an average of 270/280 Mhash/sec.

What are the best settings and options that will maximize my performance ?
9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 Motherboard on: July 31, 2011, 06:06:11 AM
would a strider 1500w be overkill for say 6x 5830s ??

10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 Motherboard on: July 31, 2011, 05:49:19 AM
I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 Motherboard and when fully populated it has 3 PCI Express 8x slots, 2 x4 slots and 1 x1 slot.

I was wondering if i would be able to fully populate this board with 6 cards with extenders ?

I have a Strider 1500w powering it, I'm just not sure if the motherboard will handle it.
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Silverstone Strider 1500W vs Corsair AX1200 on: July 13, 2011, 11:52:13 AM
I'm looking to build a new triple 6990 rig and I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a choice of power supplies.

I know that a lot of you in the community use the AX1200 which here in Australia is more expensive then the Strider 1500W.

So I'm not sure which one to choose; the AX has a single +12v rail where as the Strider has 8 +12V rails but has a higher wattage.

ok thanks for the info
13  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 6990 Crossfire on: July 04, 2011, 12:59:11 PM
I'm looking into getting a new mining rig with 2x 6990s, i will be running them in windows 7,
so what i would like to know is, does running them in crossfire cause any performance loss compared to
just using a dummy plug ? and also will this dummy plug setup work http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=11 ?

Thanks
14  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / ASUS P6T7 WS SuperComputer Motherboard on: July 03, 2011, 04:21:33 AM
Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody had an idea if the ASUS P6T7 WS SuperComputer motherboard could run 7x Graphics Cards,
by extender cables of course.

Would most likely have multiple power supplies running too, but just imagine 7x 6990s in one rig...

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 07:18:11 AM
see this is where i get a little confused. When you/we say that at 5ghash/s would discover ever 14 days
is that one machine at 5ghashes or say 3x 1.7ghash rigs. To lower the discovery time does one need to
cluster rigs ? or is it just having that performance under your belt that increased your chances ?

Are multiple computers supposed to be linked together so they can crunch through the work altogether ?
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 06:39:47 AM
at what hash rate would solo mining become effective ?

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 04:55:02 AM
ok then, thanks for that
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 02:29:06 AM
I've tried 2 calculators and they say it will take approx 40days to solve a block solo,
that means every 40 days 50 BTC ? would that be more efficient than pooled mining ?

I think it basically equates to be around the same amount of BTC per 40 days

What do you guys think ?

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 01:26:06 AM
What are the chances of hitting that amount of blocks ? or would it just be trial and error
and then move to a pool  ?
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding on a new system on: June 30, 2011, 12:36:21 AM
arrghhhh......... I'm so confused now..... The 5830s are really in the sweet spot, but the
6990s can be consolidated in one computer. I can setup 3 quad 5830 rigs for around $3000 AUD
giving i presume around 3000mhashes ? but for around the same price i can get a single
rig with 3 6990s which will not get anywhere near 3000mhashes

What are you thoughts go with 3x quad 5830 rigs ?

or

What are the chances of me detecting a block in a month with a triple 6990 rig ? or would 3x quad
5830 rigs be better ?

Does more consolidated power mean better chance ?
