This item is much more a collectible than a physical Bitcoin. So no reason to know or even care what the address or passphrase is. It's not like someone is going to fund it or redeem the coins.
I agree with you sole heartedly. This 1,000 BTC CAS coin is one of the most sought after crypto coins ever. There are about 15 coins of 3 different kinds of this denomination including prototype I think but I may be wrong. I am so excited to see this coin on the auction and this is my first time seeing this coin on the auction. This coin and the very first day issue of CAS coins are my most favorite of all. Even I cannot participate this action because it is outside of my range but I definitely enjoy watching the auction. Thanks, Rainbowsky. The mintage is slightly higher. If I'm not mistaken Coblee bought 20 unfunded 1,000 BTC Casascius coins directly from Mike Caldwell. 5 loaded coins have been sold, of which 3 are still active, and there was 1 prototype coin. Fun fact: These coins cost $5,000 (gold spot + $200 + 1000 BTC) during its launch. I was curious what the original cost at launch was. Thanks for sharing. Why was gold spot included? I’m assuming you mean 1oz spot price.

If you haven’t already I would recommend sharing this auction on Twitter/ Reddit / Instagram etc. Obviously selling a graded 1000k Cas doesn’t happen every day and normally non-collectors would show up /sign up for. I’ve seen a lot of people express how badly they want one of these or just any Cas for that matter in those types of outlets/threads but have no clue how to locate one. Would definitely create buzz that would be good for the auction and good for the collectibles sub’s growth.
Best of luck with the sale jack.
Couldn’t agree more. I’m one of those people that just discovered this forum and that ChiBitCTy described as looking for a number of these items. Good luck with the auction.

With him passing away the value should be even higher. Open to offers.
Yet over the years none of this has come to fruition..so ya kinda have to ask yourself do I know what I'm talking about, as someone not submersed in this collectibles hobby, or should I maybe listen to the people who collect these and know the hobby far better than I? But I suppose that's just silly logical thinking..and whats the point of doing any of that. You may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but you are entertaining, give ya that. btw- someones death doesn't tend to make coins more valuable ( and it absolutely wouldn't in this space)..they aren't baseball cards. Exactly. Nobody cares in the realm of collecting that he died hell damn near nobody here even knows who he was.

If you own it you have every right to peel it. However to me that seems like a waste. If you want the btc sell the unpeeled thus preserving the physical bitcoin and you’ll certainly get a premium even if it’s come down compared to historical prices. Take the principal and buy bitcoin and now the new owner has a rare collectible and you have the bitcoin you wanted. Just my opinion.

not sure how many others there are out there that I do not have as well.
There are many different Tangem cards out there. Not all of them were sold directly by Tangem, since they did custom cards for companies, and those companies giveaway/sold directly. For example, there are Tangem cards for Census branded cards, Ducatus, DIGIX/DGX (at least 2 different versions that I am aware of), NODL Cash, Coinstruction/CNS, Superbloom, etc. etc. etc. The white cards at the bottom are part of the "100 limited edition Tangem Pioneer Kits". Those are reusable cards (unlimited usage). There were some other, exactly same design, cards (that I got from the megaXcoin store in Singapore), where there was a limitation of 50 usages (there is a counter every time you move funds from the card, and after 50 times you cannot use the card anymore). Those cards launched before the Pioneer Kits, and prolly were the first commercial Tangem cards. (not 100% sure if those were the first or not, please correct me if I am wrong here) SwissKey also launched an ETH card (see at the photo along with the BTC card). Last but not least, the "Tangem Developer Kit" is awesome! It's kinda expensive, but you are getting 5 cards fully unlocked to program them as you wish. You can either use their open-source SDK or/and their android development kit app. I played a bit with the app (tried different blockchains and parameters combinations) and is really nice Awesome set and thanks for the info.

Very cool cards. I have never seen these before. Are they limited or open run?
not sure about all of them but there are a few that are no longer available on their site. I have personally seen 3 others that I do not have that are not on the site. Yeah I only see the Swiss Key currently as saying “limited” on the site but it doesn’t say what the edition size is that I can see.
