4101  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People in government is against bitcoin on: January 30, 2021, 06:24:43 PM
It remains a fact that Bitcoin is revolutionary. It has brought and opened up a new financial market that those yet to accept (some governments and some individuals) it as a medium of exchange because of their underlying skepticism will be self pressured into giving it a chance. The vast majority of financial institutions of leading countries in the world, are already seeing possibilities with bitcoin. Soon this fast spreading financial fever will spread and catch up with both people and governments of other countries.

“Not your keys, not your Bitcoins”. This is  statement from those who have been victims of stolen bitcoins. It is a statement that is meant to call to your attention that as long as financial transactions remain centralized, the situation or happenstance of you losing your bitcoin is almost inevitable.
This is perhaps the reason why the Decentralized finance (DeFi) is the next big thing. Decentralised financial systems are based on smart contracts which operates automatically without any interference from a central source. You get to make the rules and policies as regards your financial life, You become the Boss!
4103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lai Xiaomin, former boss of an investment fund Executed. on: January 29, 2021, 12:51:59 PM
The Chinese government has strong laws and frowns against bribery and collection of bribe. The death sentence is too strong a judgement for collecting bribe (life imprisonment should have been considered). However, examples that have been made with people that have defaulted like Mr Lai Xiaomin will surely send a strong message to other corrupt officials that collection of bribe in the country is a "no no" and could cost them their life.
4104  Other / Politics & Society / Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, is it the end to the deadly corona virus? on: January 29, 2021, 09:08:45 AM
Isreal leads the race in the vaccination against the deadly Corona virus. The Israeli government struck a deal with Pfizer Biontech a German biotechnology company  to get quick and fast assess to the vaccine from them in exchange for a partial access to the health data of its citizens. With this deal in place, since the 19th of December, up to a quarter of Israel's entire population have received at least one dose of this vaccine.
In a very recent published in their local news blog (see link at the end of post), the Pfizer-BioNTech shots are  living up to expectations as statistics taken from the people vaccinated has been found the vaccine to be 92% effective against the virus, an impressive statistics for the vaccine outside clinical trials and test. Israel is set to increase vaccination and have more than half of its population vaccinated by the middle of the year.
Although this is raising up the issue of a breach in privacy, are we about to witness the end of the corona virus? Is this statistics good enough for other countries to begin vaccination and use of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine?

4105  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Once upon a time on: January 28, 2021, 03:43:33 PM
Our present time now will someday become "once upon a time" . Some rules in place now that sound right will in some years tine sound almost ridiculous. We are in a state of constant evolution and things are changing fast hence some rules have to be put in place and others changed to suit the current time. If some of the rules stated on that meme hold any truth at all, we might get to find out from proper investigation amd analysis that some of those rules made sense then because they were suited to their current time and it was needed to keep society moving.
4106  Other / Politics & Society / More deaths in Nigeria. on: January 27, 2021, 09:58:40 PM
Months after the killing of innocent Nigerian youths exercising their fundamental human rights at the lekki toll gate by some members of the Nigerian army on an executive order, more deaths have followed. Not at the hand of the pandemic, but this time as a result of the clash between members of "Eastern Security Network" (ESN) and the Nigerian Army leading to more deaths both from direct and indirect gun fire,  and loss of properties in the eastern part of Nigeria. The crisis had been brewing since last week after an altercation between ESN members and the police resulted in death and a viral video of members of the ESN celebrating in a police vehicle they confiscated surfaced. Economic activities in the state have been really affected as a dusk to dawn curfew has been instituted.
4107  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Isolated Covid Free Cities, 2 Week Hotel Lockdown to Enter Life as Normal inside on: January 27, 2021, 09:30:25 PM
The idea of being isolated for 14days before being granted full access is a reasonable move. If staying off for 14days before being granted into the city is a part of the requirement or law that needs to be upheld  before access to the desired city i am visiting, it is no big deal. I am more than willing to not be a risk to other people in that city.
4108  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading Bitcoin in Africa Is a Way for Some to Escape Poverty on: January 25, 2021, 08:58:28 PM
Since the recognition of Bitcoin as having a strong market value and good market growth projection, some see it as a better way to save & make gains from their local currency i.e buying the BTC with your local currency. And we all know that the value of most currencies of African countries have little value when compared to the USD.
4109  Other / Politics & Society / What if life is a dream and death finally wakes us up? on: January 25, 2021, 03:52:56 PM
Ever wondered where dead men go? What if it is all a dream, one big dream and the day one dies here, he wakes up from this dream and opens his eyes to the real life?
4110  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you feel about politicians and central bankers? on: January 25, 2021, 03:09:01 PM
Our politicians have failed us time and time again, else nothing will prompt such an exclusive thought. However, it is also important to remember that the process of governance and government is a continuous process and most incoming politicians make loud campaign promises knowing in their hearts it is easier to change/make certain laws & policies orally than in reality. When they finally win the hearts of voters and enter office, they are faced with the reality that some laws and policies as simple as they seem have beneath them a lot of beauracracy. To however suggest to replace them with softwares is to wholeheartedly surrender the whole system to cybercriminals and hackers.
4111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is wrong, with current social networks and messengers website/app? on: January 25, 2021, 02:46:52 PM
The world of social media (apps & websites) are experiencing a massive influx of new users daily especially as some people are still in lock down and are looking for ways to still have an interaction and connection with the outside world. Their systems are bound to experience some lag & data loss expect they are already making provisions to fit the new intake.
4112  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social distancing and self isolation on: January 24, 2021, 06:32:07 PM
In a continent like africa with a very underdeveloped and analog systems, practicing social distancing and self isolation is next to impossible. They have very underdeveloped transport systems, underdeveloped markets and the most serious of them all, people that are not well informed and civilized to deal and handle the realities of the virus.
4113  Economy / Economics / Re: What's going to be impact of this tragic event in India's economy? on: January 23, 2021, 12:08:17 PM
Be it intentional or by accident, the fact remains that covid cannot remain forever. As for the vaccine production, the urgency for production is understood and a minor setback as this (the fire outbreak) will not be allowed to get in the way. I think that what we should be considering here is the impact covid had already caused to India's economy and the more negative impact it will cause if the vaccine is not promptly produced and distributed.
4114  Economy / Economics / Re: In 2021 to 2022 you decide your life and wealth on: January 23, 2021, 05:12:45 AM
I personally see this year 2021 as a time to strategically make investments for tomorrow. It is a time to be intentional about our life and wealth. Good investment decisions made now will ensure peace and financial stability and the outcome of the decision will be reflected in the coming years ahead.
4115  Other / Politics & Society / Will Google really turn off their search engine? on: January 23, 2021, 05:06:34 AM

In a news article just published here-

https://nypost.com/2021/01/22/google-threatens-to-block-search-engine-in-australiagoogle-threatens-to-shut-off-search-engine-in-australia-over-news-law/

The Australian government is considering signing into law a bill that will ensure and see that Google starts paying  for the local contents they display in their search engine. In your opinion, is this a reasonable move by the Australian government?
If Google accepts, does this not mean that other countries will follow suite and start demands to be settled as well?
4116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DONATION OF 500 MILLION NAIRA TO SOKOTO GOVERNOR BY RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT. on: January 22, 2021, 01:56:09 PM
In a country like Nigeria, where corruption and embezzlement of funds and other benefits seems to be the order of the day among its politicians, it is my sincere hope that the money donated be properly put into the proposed use. The issue of the Rivers state governor not paying public servants in the state  has little or nothing to do with this 500million donated. A state that can give out 500 million charitably, has over 4 times that amount in its reserve.
4117  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Biden raise the federal minimum wage from 7.25 USD per hour to 15 USD? on: January 22, 2021, 07:35:53 AM
We are again expectant that Biden will do the most and fulfill his campaign promises. we are certain and hope that he will do his best to make policies that will put smiles on the faces of the American people. Bitcoin enthusiasts like I, hope strongly that his tenure will be super favourable for our darling btc.
4118  Economy / Economics / Will President Joe Biden be good for business? on: January 20, 2021, 06:00:35 PM
Our hopes are high up again with expectations from the new government, will campaign promises be fulfilled? Or are we about to get something again that we didn't bargain for?
With the inauguration of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. as the 46th president of the United States, what is to be expected in the economic world?
4119  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People talking about usa war in 5 years on: January 20, 2021, 05:48:28 PM
Plenty who speak of war have never experienced it themselves. People who have experienced war will tell you that war is not something to wish for. If a war starts begin the United States and China, it is important to remember that they are both economic giants and Economic activities world wide will be affected. In short, we don't pray for war, it is not something we hope for.
4120  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid lessons learned know when to finish on: January 20, 2021, 05:42:33 PM
Many of us learnt different lessons from the pandemic, to say that the Covid taught us to know when to finish sounds too conclusive. As much as some people incurred and ran into debt during the first wave of the virus, alot of people also likewise made good investment choices and made some good money as well. I believe it is more appropriate to say that Covid brought different lessons for different people.
