741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why LTC/BTC jumps recently ? on: March 06, 2013, 10:19:06 AM
People want litecoin, it'll prove to be cheap at anything under $5 this year, it's similarity to btc will prove to be its stregnth not it's weakness. Blanket adoption by Bitcoin hard core enthusiasts ......no, it's a big world out there the public at large don't hear the argument that one shoe fits all. Bitcoin will have other alt-coins following in its wake these provide more opertunity for enthusiastic developers. If you think litecoin will fail I think that's simply because your being short sighted about the impact Bitcoin is going to make over the next 5 years.

744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is BTC-E down? on: March 05, 2013, 05:03:43 PM
If it is a DDOS again it is probably due to the high price of LTC than continued NVC support. NVC came crashing down at the same time that Khaos changed his Khore pool to payout at 120 confirmations rather than 520.

Then again last time this happened because of LTC, litecoinpool was DDOS attacked as well so maybe it is something else.

Could you explain the bolded text
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3/3/13 LTC rally never forget on: March 05, 2013, 10:06:01 AM
litecoin should reach $5 by year end, it's rise is likely to have more volatility than btc, speculation will likely fuel the initial surge to $3+.

754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mini guide to fair market BTC/XRP trading and redemption on: March 02, 2013, 03:50:40 PM
Forgive me in advance - this thread is describing how to sell XRP now in order to achieve there "best price" as they will eventually be worth less.

It doesn't look to be possible to buy XRP with btc through ripple , as ripple cannot be funded with btc.

Could be missing something or the point of ripple entirely.

I think you right about the coin limit on the top right, a little more thought could have been applied there.

This isn't an issue where I'm trying to prove anyone wrong I sure hope your correct i should have contacted Hmrc a few months ago, I'm waiting on a reply from them.

Contacting them and/or your accountant should be something you've done before you started a Bitcoin business. Otherwise, you'll just be in for a lot of surprises.

I received the green light from Barclays bank, Hmrc aml division - who also contacted Hmrc policy department who said they have no specific policy regarding Bitcoin being either a currency or e-money the main advice was to read the proceeds of crime act and report any suspicious transactions, I've taken advice from an accountant I would be interested in the exact nature of the surprises I should expect from Hmrc?
