41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My XRP lost, how much do you lost? on: June 06, 2013, 09:39:10 AM
OP don't cry, you got them for free, someone took them for free.

I doubt he obtained 1 million XRP without paying something. Biggest giveaway was 50K (that I can see publicly).
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My XRP lost, how much do you lost? on: June 06, 2013, 09:23:19 AM
I lost more than 1 million XRP 2 days ago (equivalent to more than 100BTC).

https://github.com/rippleFoundation/ripple-client/issues/860

Scary.

The ripple community is so small, I would think it would be hard to sell stolen Ripple without being identified...

That is such a large amount that I hope the guys at opencoin can help you track it!
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripples/XRP - I'd like to buy yours! [1 BTC per 8,000 XRP] on: June 05, 2013, 08:50:47 AM
17998 ripples to sell

PM sent!
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who are you? Who are your Cryptocoin devs? on: June 05, 2013, 01:07:04 AM
So we all know the main bitcoin developer as Gavin Anderson.

The two main Litecoin developers are a guy who created Fedora named Warren Togami and the person who created Litecoin is a Google Network Engineer by the name of Charles Lee.

Do you know the names or name of the dev of your coin other than some obscure username on a random forum?  What are their qualifications?  What makes them able to take your coin to the "next" level?

Just a simple question.

I think Ripple is the only other "coin" with known authors:

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/7554/who-are-the-core-developers-behind-ripple

"Chris Larsen has been publicly identified as CEO of OpenCoin, the company behind the new Ripple. The core developers have been publicly identified as Jed McCaleb, Arthur Britto, Stefan Thomas, and me (David Schwartz). "

I think Jed did eDonkey and Mt Gox.

If you don't tick the 'scammed' box, it's positive feedback and they get a +1.

I don't think people understand this.

See this one:   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=114684

5 feedbacks that say "scammer", but they did not check the Scammed checkbox for whatever reason.

Maybe instead, a radio button?

"I rate this person : ( )Postive  ( )Negative"

OMG .Fools and their money!  When this was announced difficultly was under 10m and network hashrate under 80t/h.  Now you've got them it's 12m (+20%) and network hashrate is 100t/h+ . In under 3 days difficulty will hit 14.4m.  So thats a 44% increase in diffuclty in 5 weeks, around the 30% + a month I predicted.

All of this is true, but these people are helping secure the bitcoin network by adding to the network hashrate. We should be encouraging this kind of behavior Wink

I think the 'scammed' checkbox needs to be renamed to 'negative feedback' or something similar. I just looked at a few feedback profiles, and see some people are leaving negative feedback for others, but not checking the scam box... which as I understand it, is the same as positive feedback(?)

I wasn't clear on this either, at first. Someone left me false negative feedback, so I wrote feedback for him, but since he didn't scam me, I didn't check the box, and I think it ended up helping him! (I just deleted it and re-did it with the scam checkbox, and now it correctly shows up as red)

Just a thought...

Classy.

Should I post screenshots of our PM's where you refuse to use escrow?

saudibull is an obvious scammer. He PM'ed me twice to do a deal for a rate that is "too good to be true", and refused to use escrow. (I said I'd pay any escrow fees). I called him out on this and he wrote me:

What there saying is a joke, and you have no rep, 45 posts.. lol, Fuck you bitch

I can't get any ripples since I'm new.  Is this the only way to get ripples?

I would still post to their giveaway thread, just in case. Also sign up for their email list. They (Ripple company) are supposed to do a giveaway again sometime this month.
