61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripples - I'd like to buy yours! 27 successful trades on: May 21, 2013, 11:22:06 PM
Considering that 1BTC == 6.5/6.8K XRP, I don't see how you would find someone for that price.

I will match anyone's price! But I am not seeing that rate today

How can I get some ripple?

I would go to Ripple.com and sign up for their email list, make an account on their forum, and just keep an eye out in general. They plan on doing a bunch of giveaways in the future.

If you made your forum account before February 19th, you can get free ripples here:

Hello! I'd like to buy your Ripples.

I'll give you 1 BTC per 9,000 XRP.

From what I can see, that is the best rate posted here. If you see a better offer, I'll try to match it.

I can also send you other alt-coins such as Litecoin.

I ask that you send first (we can do it in small chunks if you'd like). If you're a non-newbie, I'd be willing to send first.

I've been a bitcointalk.org member since late 2010.

You can send ripples to me here : rEsZfb3CpMvpGTgDgGbajs5jW2FYjJ7VTB

Send me a PM (or post here) with your bitcoin address, and I'll send the BTC once I receive the ripples.

Thanks!

My trades

I only have experience with slush's pool, is that a "p2p pool?"

P2Pool is a decentralized Bitcoin mining pool that works by creating a peer-to-peer network of miner nodes.

What about people who mine using the p2p pools?  Those rewards you get show up as "mined" in bitcoin-qt, are those also going to have this issue if spent at Satoshi Dice?

I'm confused, who's thread is this? Is Chuck working with crypTrade or are they separate people and services? If not working together, it's rather rude to go into someone's thread and post a bunch of offers, links to your auctions and then flat out snipe people from within the thread.

There is poetic justice in getting scammed by poaching customers from someone elses thread!

If it's the same team tag teaming the ripple sphere, never mind me I had a rough life

No, I don't know him.  He was selling ripples, I'm buying them.

I should probably make a new moderated thread so people don't post stuff like that in my stuff.
67  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by Joshster on: May 10, 2013, 12:46:17 AM
I've had several newbies ask to do a trade, suggesting JohnK escrow.  When I wrote back saying OK, they never wrote me back. It's happened 3 or 4 times.

Joshster was one of them - he PM'ed me: "I can message JohnK and when he comes on we can arrange a escrow for a secure trade. I can pay the 1.5 fee."

But I never heard back from him.

BTC sent to tyler26. Waiting for XRP.

Update: Scam accusation made. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200565

Sorry to hear that.  I asked him to send first, or use escrow, and he never wrote me back.

This is why I ask newbies (accounts recently created) to send first or use escrow... too many scams going around these days.

I need some bit coins right now, so I would be able to give you 20,000 ripples for 2 BTCs. I would really like to receive the bit coins first since, I'm giving you a pretty solid offer.

I've sent you a PM

Also "Block each 60 seconds."

Looks to me more like like every second or so

Yeah, what the hell. We have 15 days worth of blocks if each block is supposed to be 60 seconds.

Ok, I'm confused

I have two systems trying to mine

One seems up to date, always "last block: 2 seconds ago" or something

The other (similar system) is always 20+ blocks behind

I've even told the slow one to  -addnode=  the fast one.

No help.. it's just always behind

Thanks to whoever sent me 5

75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'll give you 1 Bitcoin for 11,000 Ripples on: May 07, 2013, 05:07:40 PM
Anyone could sell 11k ripples for 1.6 Bitcoins within the ripple network... Current rate is 7k/btc

As I understand it, you have to link to an exchange (and have an account with the exchange), you can't do it only on ripple.com

Yes, if you use the Bitstamp exchange linked with ripple.com, you can sell your ripples for more then I am offering right now. I think the rate of 7K/1btc is way too much, I can't beat that.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripples/XRP - I'd like to buy yours! [1 BTC per 12,000 XRP] on: May 07, 2013, 12:38:18 AM
I just completed a trade with Chuck after not knowing him at all going in.  Easy communication, we put together a deal very quickly that I think both sides are happy with, and completed it with just a handful of transactions over an hour or so.

Not that anyone did, but if one were to actually ask me, I'd say he's a straight shooter. As always be weary of any deals with your money, but I'd feel good making trades with him going forward.
Thanks Chuck, much appreciated.

Thank you!

Same thoughts here - kneemoe was great to work with. Very trustworthy, I'd deal with him again.

Lol @ all the people who want to run the binaries before anyone's seen the source code.
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'll give you 1 Bitcoin for 12,000 Ripples on: May 06, 2013, 03:01:47 AM
how abour 2btc for 10,000 ripples?

Sorry, that is way too much. I would give you 1 BTC for 10K ripples, if you sent first.

Bitmit is an option for some people, but you have to do the work of creating an auction, and compete against 100's of other auctions, bitmit takes a small fee, etc.  You might get a better price but certainly not 2btc:10k ratio (unless I'm missing something!!)
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripples/XRP - I'd like to buy yours! [1 BTC per 15,000 XRP] on: May 06, 2013, 02:23:34 AM
Why are you buying something that techni cally isn't even a coin and gets destroyed during each transaction?

Because you can trade it for more at bitstamp and instantly profit 40%  Smiley

Yeah, but the price fluctuates quickly. The majority of bitstamp offers are over 12,000 (worse then my offer) - there is a small amount of people willing to do better, and that could evaporate by the time the trade is over.

Anyway, the Ripples I'm buying, I'm holding for the long run, as I think it has lots of room to grow. I could be wrong, it's a gamble I hope will pay off.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ripple account hacked on: May 06, 2013, 01:20:22 AM
About a month ago I received 30000 ripples from the giveaway thread, did some tests and never touched my account again. But today I entered my account again and I saw that 11 days ago someone hacked into my account and transfered all my ripples to another addresses. I just want to know if this happened to someone else (security breach in ripple server) or was just my account that was hacked (8 characters password).

Did you use the same name (BRules) as your ripple wallet's name?
