I heard there is a fake mymonero site. The fake site URL ends with .co instead of .com
Maybe you accidentally logged into the fake site and they got your password?
Oh shit... it's still online and looks totally legit. I hope you didn't get scammed Birr... Edit - scour your browser history asap! You can send him messages I bet. I doubt he has it automated. What ever you type in as a mnemonic he will read it. I saw the warning about mymonero.co as soon as it was posted on these forums. I've used mymonero.com several times since then. I never went to mymonero.co. Whoever got into my account, it was somebody else. The last two or three times that I used mymonero.com, it wasn't syncing. It would say your account is 10 blocks (or whatever) behind. Then the number of blocks behind stated by the error message would increase gradually.. So in effect it was frozen. Something was probably interfering with my connection to mymonero.com, preventing communication. That could be what made it look like the blockchain wasn't syncing. If there was a man-in-the-middle attack, maybe that would explain the lack of a connection, I don't know. It would be good to figure out what happened, if not for my sake then to prevent it happening to others. Fluffypony said in his response to my support email that the server has not been compromised. I don't think I can ask or expect him to spend much time on this. Maybe there are people with some expertise here who are more interested.

I have an emergency More than 7000 xmr disappeared from my my mymonero.com account I sent an email to mymonero.com support
I became disabled a couple of years ago and I don't know if I'll be able to work again. That's why this is a problem for me. I am not a young man. One of the attack vectors fluffypony mentioned was "The user's upstream connection is compromised, either because they're using a VPN or Tor" I use a vpn through vpngate.net sometimes. They can see my traffic, but how would that enable them to get into my account?

Does Kraken (and other exchanges) perform any type of blockchain analysis on the coins that are being traded on its site? In order to find out if the source of the coins are from darknet sites such as silkroad? or from reported hacks where bitcoins have been stolen? Regards
Coinbase tracks coins that you withdraw from your account. They will close your account if they find out you sent the withdrawn coins to a gambling site. I don't know if any other exchanges do things like that.

Bid sum climbing again. Hard to believe, but it's like water seeping into a hole.
I think it's because it takes people a while to figure out where and how to buy monero. The demand is there, but makes its way only gradually onto the order book. Unlike many altcoins, Monero isn't a brittle, zero-sum game played in a closed system. The world is waking up to Monero. That's why this rally has legs.

When I was first aware of XMR before it was even listed on Polo (or was called Monero), one of the people who got me into it along with noticing Aminorex and Risto's enthusiasm, was KFR.
Anyone know what happened? Last post on KFR's profile here was 2015?
It's a shame to see early adopters not be here to see the ATH - I think KFR had it from OTC sales before Poloniex listed it.
KFR was active on https://cryptocrypt.net (Goat's forum) until the tumbleweed set in - I think the site is down for good now Down, but not out. When Joesmoe gets back from Burning Man, he'll fix it. Don't wanna bother him now.
