Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: While Everyone was Talking about El Salvador! We forgot about Guatemala

I am happy to note that small countries are actually pioneering the adoption of Bitcoin into their everyday economy as a currency. Right now, in the USA which remains to be the top global economy, there remains no clear regulatory framework in the adoption of Bitcoin though it is legal to invest and trade with it. Maybe with El Salvador and Guatemala, we can see the benefits and maybe even the advantages of Bitcoin adoption...before we can expect big countries to fully embrace Bitcoin. Right now, that BTC is rising as a result of the banking problems in USA, maybe there will be other smaller countries to be taking notice.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EU Lawmaker Johan Van Overtveldt Compares Crypto To Drugs, Calls For Ban
|

|
I have been following the news on the ongoing banking turmoil in the USA right now...and many experts are telling us that the main problem has something to do with the rising interest imposed by the Fed all because many of these collapsed banks exposed big on bonds where they encountered big losses. As far as crypto is concerned, the exposure is not that so big and even if they are exposed and they know how to balance risks they could have avoided their collapse. Proposing a blanket ban on cryptocurrency is not a good one...the government should be banning scams, frauds and similar schemes but above-the-board cryptocurrencies should be allowed to flourish under a strict regulation.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the first success story

Of course, when you buy something at a low price and then have the patience to wait and when the price is getting high then it can be time to smile and celebrate. Your success story is not something new and there are now many people who got benefitted by the journey of Bitcoin to the top...though we must say that this journey has been an up and down experience. Those who did not have the diamond hands always will be regretting when the time is getting good. Congrats on your Bitcoin success story!

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The value of bitcoin remains the same
|
on: March 17, 2023, 06:58:56 AM

Of course, when we are talking on the value of Bitcoin we should not equate all with its monetary price in the current cryptocurrency market. Defining value can be broad from one person to another. For example, if you have Bitcoin and the government can be running after your finances maybe to confiscate them it would be impossible for them to track your Bitcoin not unless you are volunteering to tell them. Now that is one value of Bitcoin we can rely on. The price is of course depends on a lot of factors especially demand and supply...and because Bitcoin can be excelling on these aspects no wonder some are predicting that its Bitcoin can go to the moon at the right time. And today as the world is watching the banking turmoil in USA and Europe we can see that more and more are shifting their interest to Bitcoin especially as a reliable safe haven.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Asia Pushes Bitcoin Past $25K
|
on: March 17, 2023, 06:48:43 AM

When we say that Asia is the force that is pushing Bitcoin higher and higher past $25K, I am assuming that more and more individual and institutional buyers based in Asia are getting in love with this digital asset as the world is now closely watching the banking crisis that started in USA and is now spreading to Europe. Well, this is quite possible but I need a reference to confirm this fact. Anyway, I am happy that at this time Bitcoin is detaching itself from stocks and is now standing the way it should be: one of the best safe haven assets alongside gold and silver which are also rising these days.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused.
|
on: March 17, 2023, 06:38:16 AM

Bitcoin is already 14 years old now, for me bitcoin is no longer relatively young to be known. In fact, you are very likely to find that most countries are familiar with bitcoin even if their governments don't want to adopt it as currency. It's just that some people lack experience in recognizing the characteristics of a ponzi scheme because of their ignorance. This is why ponzi schemes still work in some places.
Greed and the lure of high returns have led some victims to lose money, but it doesn't make much sense to me when they blame bitcoin as in the recent case regarding the mixer.
Compared to the many currencies used by many countries, Bitcoin can still be considered as relatively young as some of them can be existing for hundreds of years. And if you don't mind, when you were just 14 years old am sure people still look at you at that time as a young boy, right? Even a man at 20 can still be considered as a young man. We can also google on how old is the USA dollar. Surely 14 years is a short period in history even in the world of finance and money especially if we are going to talk on financial institutions.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iconic billboard outside SVB

Though am doubting the veracity of this specific photo of a van advertising Bitcoin which is supposedly (of course, it is not) endorsed by the Chairman of the Fed with SVB at the background - at the time when it collapsed due to bad decisions and mismanagement, still I do admire the message which is quite clear: When banks and the traditional financial system is failing we have the best alternative around which the government could not control and that is Bitcoin. I am posting this in my Twitter and Facebook account too.

I agree with this assessment...victims of scams like Ponzi did not lose money because of Bitcoin because it is just used as the medium of exchange just like the dollar or any other currency for that matter. However, this association is quite understandable all because Bitcoin remains to be relatively young and people don't have the time to scrutinize the details. It is just sad that the mainstream media is not correcting this wrong impression...as they are actually looking for good headlines to take in more attention for the content they are marketing. But generally am not worried because eventually people will realize that Bitcoin is not on fault here but people who are greedy (both the operators and the victims) as they all want easy, fast money.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when your identity is stolen -- real story || Avoid CEXs!
|
on: March 16, 2023, 04:36:46 AM

So this is how stolen personal information can be used against someone else for the main benefits of those behind the business of taking someone's else name and use it for criminal activities. I used to be thinking vague on this but things are now clear to me as to the danger of info thievery. Good thing that I don't have any hint of being a name in the online world...as I think this is one factor why the victim was chosen by these criminals. We really have to be careful and pray that the platforms we are trusting will not fall into the hands of the criminals otherwise we are all at risk. This is one big advantages of DEXs over CEXs. And we have to face the reality that hacking will continue to be more sophisticated into the future and it seems to me that nothing can stop them to be successful from time to time.

I am not actually an avid follower of these people like Coffeezilla and Joe Rogan but I always admire people who are doing their best to exposed frauds and scams in this expanding industry. Like it or not, the crypto industry has become a milking cow for many scammers, fraudsters, hackers and similar evil people all ready to fool possible victims out of their hard-earned money. We should be supporting thee people who are contributing a lot to clean this industry of bad players.

Don't be confused by choice of words of other people...and yes stick to your own idea about it and be guided in your decisions as you journey along in the world and market of cryptocurrency with its dramatic ups and downs just like riding a big roller-coaster full of excitement and sometimes also disappointments. One can certainly call Bitcoin as a property because it is something one can own digitally...but a property can also be an investment, of course, especially if one is looking forward to gain something out of it. Just like a real estate property which is an investment into the future. Whatever you call it, the most important thing is that you own some Bitcoin hidden somewhere safely. And hopefully one day it would be a big treasure for you and your family.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your belief about Bitcoin?
|
on: March 15, 2023, 09:35:04 AM
|
Yes, we all believe the same things too on Bitcoin and these things are quite basic or elementary when we are describing it. So far, there has been no technology yet that can threat the secure nature of Bitcoin though we don't know for sure what can be years from now - and I leave that to creative minds to think of the future of Bitcoin. Now, of course, we know that being crypto Bitcoin is very volatile as any development that can affect it or one that can be impacting the people holding the coins can push its value in the market down or up. As many institutions are now into Bitcoin their decisions can be creating the directions of where the market is going. I am looking at Bitcoin as a medium for the people to experience more freedom away from the controls and eye-watching power of the government or its agencies...but of course this fact alone can also be making Bitcoin the focus of those people.
