Actually, the life as we know it now, will also be halting in case there will be no power and no internet. No more crypto and no more tete-a-tete here in this forum. Business will stop operating, people can't communicate as everything must be powered though we can be using solar instead. As to internet, there is no substitute for it as of now...not unless Elon Musk and StarLink got something on their sleeve for it. Now, the question is: What are the possible scenarios that can create the stoppage of power and the internet at the same time? Maybe nuclear war in case Putin will finally go crazy to push the button?

Finding an effective balance on this big issue is the key to make sure that regulations are not being utilized to suppressed and even kill the very thing that is being regulated. On the side of the government, there are a lot of reasons why regulations are and will be in placed for the whole crypto marketplace...and I even agree with many of the reasons. Now, on my own PoV, what the government is doing is exercising its own power over everything as it does not want to be caught with anything off-guard. At this age, governing is a very complicated thing and for sure it does not want to add cryptocurrency to the mix of things that it does not any control with. And as such, it is hoped that eventually there will be more and more investing people that will be looking - and entering - at cryptocurrency with more trust and confidence. In other words, we are slowly getting away from the old Wild, Wild West era. Now, will that be good or bad? Let history be the judge.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fennec: The Upcoming Bitcoin Fork Memecoin - Tips and Suggestions

In the market where a new project of similar nature can be launching every hour, I am interested the many things that differentiate this project from the rest. Though WhitePaper can be a good guide, having it is not a guarantee of success or getting the attention of investing supporters. Now, as a suggestion, please start an airdrop campaign to get as much noise as you can for Fennec. Good luck and more power.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is Dropping After the Merge?

Obviously, a lot of people were then expecting that the price of Ethereum will go explode after the so-called Merge but it did not actually. Hence, many are then disappointed as this Merge is liken to Bitcoin's halving in terms of impact. Anyway, what is good is that Ethereum is setting things up for the long-term...so maybe we should tone down our expectations and look forward to the future - say 3 to 5 years from now when I am sure ETH can surely be more valuable as we have it today during this long bear market.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hidden Gems
|
on: October 24, 2022, 01:40:03 AM

The big problem with hidden gems is that, of course, they are hidden meaning they can appear to be out of our radar and then we just learned that something burst out of the seam and become popular. I would say that it would be the same thing that happened with APTOS as I never got into it so I failed to be a part of its testnet bounty campaign. Now, scouring the internet especially the crypto-based sites and forums can be a tedious process and if we have to join all that come our way then we need more than 24 hours a day for that. Sometimes I just realize that things actually boils down to luck...being at the right place at the right time. Good luck on finding the gems you are looking for.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock To Take Over Cryptocurrency With Bitcoin Private Trust

on: October 23, 2022, 06:18:46 AM

I am not in any way concerned with this news...that is assuming that this is true and not just a made-up (fake) press release. Now, in my POV anything that is putting trust and confidence on the cryptocurrency market is actually a vote of its future. Eventually, there will be a group or two that will be big names in an industry and cryptocurrency is not exempted on that matter. Will BlockRock become so powerful that the whole industry will be influence by it? Maybe yes, maybe no. Let's just watch what can be.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago.

Good to see that a year has passed since Bitcoin reached the $60K level zone. I can still remember that in those days, many people and crypto supporters thought that it would most likely be $100K as BTC's next stop. Unfortunately, things did not work out as we know that the price slide down slowly to where we are right now. Well, we have nothing to regret all because we know that Bitcoin is very unpredictable...and soon we don't know just yet BTC can be back to where it was before...right at its ATH.

Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: What to do if your Ledger key have gone in the washing machine

I think if I have a hardware wallet then I would go for a protective case...and that is why I am thinking that this should be adopted by makers of hardware wallet as part of their bundle so there is no need to be buying one separately. I am hoping this message can be able to reach manufacturers and marketers of these brands. However, I think that using the rice can be better use for smartphones and not on a Ledger.

While there can be here who don't look at this news to be encouraging...first let's compare it to what happened in China where total ban has been in effect for many years now and this would surely be a lot better. Regulations of cryptocurrency, of course, involves some give and take process all because this is an act by the government to be making something legal but at the same time there are going to be processes in place as a compromise. As for me, we don't have the choice because individually we can never obliterate the power of the state to impose legal procedures and requirements...however am sure there can be some platforms that can still be serving the people without the need for KYC and AML procedures so there remains to be some choices available. In addition, though there is no specific reference for Bitcoin in the said ACT above, the term used is cryptocurrency...and is Bitcoin not cryptocurrency?
